We are a family of 3 (mom, dad, and bebe) and have a house in downtown Jersey City. We speak English, Japanese and Bulgarian and little Spanish. I know our place is priced lower than it's value, but we decided to use it to serve other people until our bebe grows up. We like helping travelers from all over the world and always enjoy accommodating them. Our guests get entire first floor (huge one room with alcove) which has own bathroom and kitchenette (sink, microwave, and fridge). It is totally private and you don't have to share anything with us. But we live right above you, so if you need help, we will be right there. We have two beds (queen and full size) and can accommodate 4 people easily, and if you don't mind sleeping on air mattress, we can accommodate up to 6!
Our house is located in 10min walk on lively street from Grove St. PATH station. You can find nice restaurants and supermarket on the way. It is also close to Newport shopping mall and Hamilton Park. If you go little further, you can enjoy a walk by Hudson river with Manhattan view. It is a very family oriented, residential and safe area.
It is easy to access to Manhattan via PATH. It takes 7 min to World Trade Center and 18 min to Midtown, 33rd st. There are also options of ferries and taxi.
We have private driveway, and if you like to bring your car, you are welcome to park your car for additional $10/night.
We will do your laundry for you for $5/load (washer and dryer). Just ask us.
The nearest airport is Newark(EWR), but you can land on JFK and LGA and come here within 2 hours, depending on transportation you take and traffic.
Everything in the floor.
When they check in and check out, unless they have problems. Usually guests here are gone most of the day and night sight-seeing, so we don't see each other very often.
Rustique pizza, view of Manhattan from the Hudson River, Trico's icecream.
12min walk to PATH Grove street. There are bus stops around here too.
Beginning of april, I stayed for 6 days at Yukiko's place. I enjoyed my stay very much. It takes only a small walk to the PATH-station. While walking, you have plenty of choice for having breakfast, lunch or diner on Newark Avenue. I also enjoyed returning from the hectic streets of NY to this quiet neighborhood. It relaxed me at the end of the day.
The room is as described. When i arrived, bedding and a towel were available. It has a private entrance to the street. I find this very useful. No need to bother the owners when coming home late (or early).
If you don't mind hearing the owners in the morning or hearing the heating turn on and off during the night, this is definitely the place for you.
My next stay will be here again.
Yukiko is nice but quiet. She leaves us alone after showing us the place.
Very private room. Live piano (she already mentioned it that she does piano practice which can be heard from our room).
from the first contact both hosts were very attencious and friendly. The space is pretty much like the pictures and all details are taken care of - beds were nicely made and with good linens, bathroom as amazinly clean and several towels were provided. Yukiko was very understanding and colaborative when I told her at the last minute that we're having 2 extra guests! the house is well located, close enough the PATH station and a pleasent walk in a Ave full of restaurants, pubs, cafes and groceries stores. I would definitely stay there again if I were on that side of the town, specially on weekdays, as on weekends the PATH line changes and it takes a little longer to get into/out Manhatan.
This accommodation in Jersey City is a good bet on many counts for visitors to the NYC area. It is, as noted, an entire floor in a small townhouse. The unit was very clean, the bed is comfortable with nice quality sheets and there is a semi-separate living area with futon couch and chairs, small table. Wifi is very good. The bathroom is large and nicely decorated. One small thing-- the shower is actually a hand-held shower in a bath tub which my very tall husband found to be a little awkward to use. The kitchenette area is basically a microwave and there is a small kettle to make tea or coffee. No dishes or plates available. The area nearby on the way to the PATH train has numerous small restaurants and a couple of small grocery stores. If you have a car, you can park in Yukiko's driveway for $10 a day. Street parking requires a permit. My only other bit of info to be aware of is that you are in the lower floor of a family home and noise can be a bit of an issue. While the family is very careful to be quiet at night, in the morning their young child runs around just overhead and mid-morning Yukiko often plays piano (very nicely) but you definitely hear the noise. If you are a late sleeper or want to get some work done this is something to be aware of. Otherwise, no big deal. If you love breakfast go to Sam A.M. on Morris St. a short drive or longish walk from the unit. Terrific place. Feels like San Francisco!
Yukiko is a good host who provided all the assistance we needed while leaving us with enough privacy. The apartment is big and is an easy access to manhattan. Definitely recommend it!
We had a very great time at Yukiko's place. We were 5 and we had plenty of space. The appartment is located close to Grove street PATH station so it was easy to go to Manhattan. It has a separated door so we didn't have to bother Yukiko and her family when we were coming back late or leaving early. Yukiko always aswered fast to all our questions, she is a great host! I definitely recommend her place.
I had a nice stay at Yukiko's apartment. The bed was comfortable. The apartment is about a 10 minute walk to the Grove street PATH station. There is no TV, but the wifi is fast. I would try to stay there again if I was to return to NYC. Reserve this apartment with confidence, it is a nice place.
I stayed here one night with 2 friends in January. The dwelling is scrupulously clean and very simple: 2 futons, a chair and a desk, although there was a card table & chairs if we needed them. There was tea and coffee fixings and a variety of bath items. We were able to arrange parking with Yukiko, which was really helpful given the snow on the streets. Since it is a ground level space, it is on the cool side, so we had to ask Yukiko to turn up the heat, and it took a few hours until it was truly warm.
Our stay with Yukiko went well. The apartment was clean and well appointed. My mom, son and I stayed in Jersey City the night before my son's musical audition at NYU. The Grove St. PATH station is conveniently located about 8-10 blocks away(a nice walk if the weather had been better). The parking around the station was inexpensive and plentiful. The bathroom is beautiful, as others have said. Thank you Yukiko for sharing your space with us.
Yukiko was a great host. Very hospitable. The apartment was conveniently located, very spacious and clean. Would definitely recommend her.
