Bright Room With A Great River View

Apartment - Private room · Riverside Dr, New York, NY 10031, United States

The Space

Come and enjoy a bright sunny room in a 3 bedroom classic prewar building on Riverside Drive in upper Manhattan. The room has a great view of the Hudson River and the George Washington Bridge.

This room is ideal for students or traveling adults looking for
a comfortable temporary and affordable accommodation.

The room is best suited for 1 person and has a semi private entrance with its own 1/2 bathroom. It's a large apartment by New York standards with 2 entrances. One entrance leads almost directly into the bedroom. This is great for the guest as your comings and goings don't bother anyone at all. The 1/2 bath has its own sink and toilet allowing for your additional privacy.

I will provide bedding, linens and towels as needed.

There is a laundry facility available for use 7 days per week in the basement of the building from 8am to 9pm.

This is a great area and well connected
to the rest of the city via the 1, A, C, B and F subway lines ( the 1 train is only one block away) as
well as the M5, M4, M19, and the M11 buses. Travel time is less than 20 mins to midtown Manhattan.

The apartment is located in front of Riverbank State Park offering a swimming pool, track, gym, soccer field, basketball courts, tennis courts, skating and an amazing bike path that stretches the length of Manhattan.

There are several good restaurants in the neighborhood, a Rite Aid on the corner, a supermarket and several banking machines apx. a block away.

I think airbnb works best for both guest and host when you have a little dialog before hitting the "book it" button. So please feel free to ask any questions you might have about myself, my family and the accommodations.

Thanks! Hope to be able to host you during your stay in New York!

Check In
  • I stayed at Alicia's apartment for 5 nights. It was exactly as described. I had planned to visit several places in northern Manhattan, (the Cloisters, historic Harlem, Columbia University, & the Cathedral of St. John the Divine), and the location of this apartment was perfect for that. The subway (1 train) is an easy 1 block walk from the apartment building, making it convenient to access any place in the city, really.
I loved that the bedroom has a half bath en suite, and absolutely loved the view of the Hudson River from the bedroom and bed. It was a wonderful view to wake up to every morning! The apartment itself was quiet, and the bed was very comfortable- I slept very well which is not usual for me away from home. The private entrance is located right across the hall from the bedroom, so it is easy to come and go without disturbing anyone else in the household. The kitchen is right near the bedroom, easy to access if needed as well.
Alicia was very friendly and she and her son, who greeted me when I arrived, made me feel right at home. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

  • Alicia is a gracious host. The flat is great, the room small but has a comfortable bed, a small desk and a private sink and toilet. A perfect mix of privacy and a friendly host family including a most adorable 3 year old grand child that comes to visit. I will be back! Thanks Alicia.

  • My experience in Alicia's apartment was perfect!
Both the room and the apartment in general is very comfortable, cozy, clean, and beautiful.
Alicia is a very nice host. She always cared about me, for my comfort, and help as necessary. Same with her son Clyde, who helped me in my days in NY, and was always very friendly and sympathetic!
The apartment is conveniently located one block from the 1 train, which covers most of the tourist spots in the city.
If you go in winter, the place is well heated!!!
The room is ideal for one person, the bed is comfortable, and the half bathroom is a must!
The kitchen is huge, and can be used without problems.
I would definitely stay at Alicia's apartment again!
    I recommend it!

  • I enjoyed my stay at Alicia's home. It's a very nice apartment, quiet, in a good location with convenient transportation. Alicia and her son are both very nice, Alicia helped me to find a car to the airport and told me some interesting things about NYC and the neighborhood. If I got another chance to visit NYC, I would stay there again!

  • I absolutely loved staying with Alicia. She was very welcoming and the room/apartment was very clean and in a safe location; I felt very comfortable and at-home. The room is a great size and has great amenities (a half bath) for the price. She gives you a spare set of keys and there's a side entrance that guests go in and out of (as she described in her listing) so you don't feel like you're disturbing the host and can come and go freely. She was also very flexible with the checkout time, which was very nice since I had an extremely late night/early morning flight. Thank you Alicia!

  • Staying at Alicia's for two nights brought back fond memories of my first apartment experience in New York (many years ago) and I felt right at home. Like Alicia's it was one of those spacious UWS pre-wars but hers is filled with wonderful, vibrant artwork and the riverscape highlighted by the GWB cannot be beat. Talk about a room with a view. The location is also unbeatable with the subway and bus stop just a block away. Extra special features are the room's toilet and sink, and the private (second) entrance into the apartment. One of the best things about Airbnb is the opportunity to meet and stay with terrific people and Alicia is one of them. Would I stay with Alicia again; you bet!

  • I had the best experience staying at this place in northanhattan. Can't wait to stay again soon.

  • This accommodation was perfect for me in terms of the room size and the price. It is a little out of the way in terms of the location. But it only take about 20 minutes on the subway to get into the hub of New York's night life and attractions. The closest subway station is literally around the corner from the apartment. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're on a tight budget.
The host, Alicia was very helpful and provided me with lots of tips on what to see and travel instructions.

  • Great host, great room & great location! I had a great stay with Alicia, she is lovely. The room is private and having your own toilet and sink is a real treat. The apartment is so close to the subway so you can get into Times Square in under 25 mins. I would love to stay at Alicia's again if I came back to NYC.
