The space

Beautiful, spacious, clean airy home in a fun neighborhood. Nice linens, large showers, plenty of natural light, front patio. A breakfast with fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, pan dulce, and eggs is served everyday and guests are encouraged to come in their pajamas if they wish! On Sundays, Marcia makes a special breakfast dish of baked apples and yogurt.

We welcome all guests no matter their race, sex, gender, or sexual preferences. However, we don’t accept any supporters of Donald Trump.

Guest access

Guests have access to a shared refrigerator and are welcome to make light use of the kitchen. Front and back patios are open to everyone. There is an extra bathroom on the main floor.

Interaction with guests

When guests arrive, Marcia (the host) helps guests get oriented with a quick tour of the neighborhood. Marcia is also present at breakfast and can answer any questions guests may have, as well as give suggestions of where to go and where to eat. Marcia loves hosting visitors from all over the world and from all different walks of life, and to share her beloved colonia and city.

The neighborhood

Colonia Guadalupe is one of the most vibrant and funky parts of San Miguel de Allende. The streets are filled with murals and street art. There are boutiques and galleries, including the beautiful Fabrica La Aurora. Nearby are delicious restaurants like Gombo’s Pizza and Via Organica, a super hip smoothie joint, and charming cafes. The heart of the city, the Jardin and Centro, is just a ten minute walk away. San Miguel is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with art and language classes, theater, music and film festivals, hot spring spas, gourmet dining, and much more!

Getting around

It is easiest to get around San Miguel on foot, but there are many options. The city taxis are painted green and fares around the city range from 35-50 pesos; if you wish to go outside the city the fare increases. In May 2016, Uber arrived in San Miguel. There are still not many drivers, especially during busy times, but it’s another option for guests. Buses to Centro stop at the corner and come frequently. Wedding venues are easily accessible.

All the reviews that say Marcia is a hoot are spot on. I will add that she is a FUN hoot! Upon my arrival she walked me around and showed me neighborhood greats all of which I used during my week's stay. The location of her house is great. 2 easy turns and an easy walk down a great street puts you at the Jardin. I enjoyed being there and would gladly stay with Marcia anytime.

WOW we had a great time at this lovely San Miguel home, It was really cold and the heater we were provided kept the room perfectly warm, WE will be back as we love San Miguel, We bought 17 boxes of decoration items and shipped them back to Tulum, WE will definately be back, Raymond and Maria

Marcia was a wonderful host and interesting person. The apartment was clean, the bed very comfortable, and she made us healthy breakfast every morning. We will definitely stay in her house again next time we are in SMA. It's an easy walk to everything!

Marcia was a lovely top notch host and fun to chat with. She offered a wonderful healthy breakfast and self serve brewed coffee which was really appreciated. She was always available to answer any questions I had about the area, sights to see etc. She was invaluable in helping me with departure arrangements, setting me up with her local trusted company to get to the airport and if it wasn't for several of her insider recommendations I would have missed some of the major highlights of my trip! She even offered a lay of the lay walk about so I could get oriented in her neighborhood, which was really sweet and incredibly helpful. The room itself was exactly as pictured, cozy and well appointed with everything you could need. The water pressure in the shower was great, there was always hot water and the bed was super comfortable. Marcia warmed up the room prior to my arrival which I thought was really thoughtful. I particularly enjoyed the private patio which I wish I could have taken more advantage. The location is top notch, close to everything yet just out of the main area enough to avoid the crowds and noise. I had a wonderful stay at Marcia's place and hope to visit again one day and stay longer next time.

Marcia's place is in a great location to explore San Miguel. It's a close walk to a lot of excellent restaurants, art galleries, and the market. The room was just as shown in the photos. Very clean and private. Great for a couple or single person wanting a bit more space with their own enclosed terrace. The bed was also super comfortable! Marcia helped me a lot when I wasn't feeling great, making me tea and food. She was also very flexible when I had to add on another day. I really appreciated this and enjoyed my stay at her place.
