Adventure Inn is located half way between San Jose and the SJO airport so we are convenient to both. We offer free airport shuttles, free breakfast, free international calls, free wireless internet. On site, we also have a pool, Jacuzzi and a gym.
All of our rooms sleep 4 people on two queen sized beds, cable TV, hot private shower and bathroom, a telephone with free local and international calls, and coffee maker.
For 5 or more persons please contact us to quote a multiple room stay. We also have wheelchair accessible rooms.
Your stay includes an all you can eat, full American breakfast from 6 to 10 am.
Guests will have access to all of our facilities. The only thing we charge for are the room safes ($1 per day). Everything else is included in your rate.
Interaction with Guests
The owners, Eric and Mike, father and son, work at the hotel 7 days a week, so it is likely one of us will be there when you stay. Ask at the front desk and we would be more than happy to come and say hello.
Adventure Inn is located in the secluded neighborhood of Ciudad Cariari. It is close to both the city center and the airport (10 minutes from each), but not close enough that you get the noise or the crime from the city. Many people find our area relaxing and peaceful.
Only 1 block from our front door is the public bus stop to go either to the airport or San Jose for less than $1 per person. If you have a car, we provide free parking on site. If you are interested in renting one, contact us and we will get you the best deal, guaranteed.
Other Things to Note
One thing that we specialize in is setting up the best Costa Rican tours for our guests. We have over 50 tours that we can recommend to you. Let us know and we will make all the arrangements for you for no extra fee.
The Adventure Inn was much smaller and more dated than the pictures show but it was very clean and the people were very nice. It was actually the best hot shower we had during our 3 weeks in Costa Rica. We had to get on an early morning free shuttle to SJO so we missed their free buffet breakfast. They said they pack a to-go box in these cases. I requested a hard boiled egg instead of the pastry (I have Celiac Disease and can't eat gluten). She said sure no problem, but then when she gave us the breakfast to go in the morning she didn't give me what I'd asked for and there was no time to fix it. They advertised a lot of english cable channels but we couldn't find more than a few. The room was spacious and comfortable.
Thank you for the review. We are small; 34 rooms, pool, Jacuzzi, gym, guest business center. We were built between 1996 and 2009, so we aren't dated, I just think the large plants, all the exotic wall murals and mostly the statues and extensive stone work give it the appearance of a more mature property. I apologize for the 'to go' breakfast without your hard boiled egg, someone dropped the ball. At least we offer something to take with you if you have an early flight, most hotels offer nothing or charge you for it. We don't advertise A LOT of English channels, we just say we have Spanish and English channels, all that the cable company will offer, maybe seven or eight in English, but don't let it ruin your stay, are you here to watch TV, or experience Costa Rica?
Adventure Inn is definitely a precious paradise for artists and whoever is looking for an inspirational place to create, write, meditate or compose music! Thanks to the host Jan and Avtar for sharing their passion about the secrets of the plants and exploring their amazing garden full of richness.

It was nice to stay here the night before leaving. The showers and the room was very comfortable and the food at the restaurant was good.
Didn't stay here long so can't comment too much. But it was a great stay.
Adventure in was amazing - the pool and hot tub were such a welcome gift after 2 weeks of hard traveling around the country. We had a reasonably priced, really delicious meal at the restaurant. It was a super nice way to transition back to the states. They offer a free shuttle service to the airport, but we had rented a car so we didn't need it. Super close and easy to get to the airport, although it was a little difficult to find at first - this is my fault as I did not print the email directions and we could not find wifi. I really loved the room - it was so clean and had an A/C unit. Awesome shower!! Mary at the front counter was so lovely - thank you, Mary! Also, the concierge (I forget his name) was extremely nice and made us feel so welcome. I will for sure stay here again!!
Really liked this hotel. The location is perfect for the airport and for San Jose. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Our room was large and comfortable but would have liked a little more natural light.
The restaurant, pool and patio area are a delight, peaceful, but at the same time have a lovely atmosphere.
The breakfast was very good, ample fresh fruit and a great choice of cooked meals.
Overall we would highly recommend this place for quality, location and value.
Thanks, Jeff Duvall
Our experience was very satisfactory. A shuttle picked us right up from the airport and the reception was very helpful. Thank you!
