About This Listing
Adventure Inn is located half way between San Jose and the SJO airport so we are convenient to both. We offer free airport shuttles, free breakfast, free international calls, free wireless internet. On site, we also have a pool, Jacuzzi and a gym.
All of our rooms sleep 4 people on two queen sized beds, cable TV, hot private shower and bathroom, a telephone with free local and international calls, and coffee maker.
For 5 or more persons please contact us to quote a multiple room stay. We also have wheelchair accessible rooms.
Your stay includes an all you can eat, full American breakfast from 6 to 10 am.
Guests will have access to all of our facilities. The only thing we charge for are the room safes ($1 per day). Everything else is included in your rate.
Interaction with Guests
The owners, Eric and Mike, father and son, work at the hotel 7 days a week, so it is likely one of us will be there when you stay. Ask at the front desk and we would be more than happy to come and say hello.
Adventure Inn is located in the secluded neighborhood of Ciudad Cariari. It is close to both the city center and the airport (10 minutes from each), but not close enough that you get the noise or the crime from the city. Many people find our area relaxing and peaceful.
Only 1 block from our front door is the public bus stop to go either to the airport or San Jose for less than $1 per person. If you have a car, we provide free parking on site. If you are interested in renting one, contact us and we will get you the best deal, guaranteed.
Other Things to Note
One thing that we specialize in is setting up the best Costa Rican tours for our guests. We have over 50 tours that we can recommend to you. Let us know and we will make all the arrangements for you for no extra fee.
Skip the adventure and San Jose all together. The real adventure is not in this city and certainly not with this Inn.
It begins with the welcome email. "Mike" sent over a four page message packed with sales pitches for tours. Then it mentions that the Inn is a little off the beaten path but in reality, it's located in the most frustrating pocket off of Rt 1 (extremely difficult to find) and isn't near the downtown area AT ALL. You're only close to restaurants that scream America...including their own restaurant which plays CNN and rock music at the 6 a.m. breakfast...welcome to Costa Rica. The breakfast was reheated rice and beans and overcooked eggs which surprised us since we had experienced such fresh and flavorful food everywhere else during our trip.
There was barely a greeting when arriving. The room key is monstrously large that it's impossible to fit into your pocket when heading out to explore. And the rooms lack any comforting decor or beauty.
Last but not least, there was a used bar of soap on the ground of our shower when we arrived.
I'm sorry to leave such a forward and unpleasant review Mike because I'm sure the Adventure Inn may have been totally hip years ago, but it seems like a lot of things are slipping. The lack of warmth and cleanliness made this the least welcoming place during our stay.
Employes accueillant et serviable. Bel endroit propre et tranquille et bien situer près de l'aeroport.
Such a great hotel! We loved it. Staff is probably the most friendly staff of any hotel that I have ever been. The bar is great and so is the restaurant...huge portions and the Argentinian steak was delicious.
We did not need the staff to arrange any day trips or activities, but it seems they offer day trips all over Costa Rica, and honestly staying with them during your entire stay may be the best idea.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Great place, very cosy room, friendly people.
Pretty close to the international airport yet a quiet neighborhood.
Perfect place to finish a trip to CR.
It was my first time in Costa Rica and Adventure Inn was what I needed as an Introduction. My first and last night's were spent here. After spending 8 days driving throughout the country I was greeted with a welcome back that made me feel like I was back home before I got back on the plane.
The breakfast was great and I recommend the macadamia nut pancakes.
As an Artist I greatly appreciated that the art was art. Murals are rampant and wonderful.
I'm looking foward to returning already.
