Joe was attentive from the moment we arrived. He gave us a quick, but thorough run down of the grounds. The home is the exact portrait the photographs demonstrate!
We had the best time at Joe's house! The house and property were amazing. The house was cozy and welcoming. Great sound system, spacious kitchen, spa style bathroom, comfy beds. The outside was just as good - beautiful property, hot tub, hammock, pond. It was everything that we wanted and more. We will definitely be back!
Joe is a nice, accommodating host. His home is super lovely with everything you can ask for: quiet, country setting, beautiful views, pool table, putting green, and hot tub. Unique layout, built for the closest of friends and family. We enjoyed our stay
Great setting. Secluded, but with plenty to do on the property..firepit, hot tub, pool table, canoeing on the pond. Close enough to other attractions like whale watching from Moss Landing and Kayaking in Elkhorn Slough. The only downside I can think of is the location of the 1 bathroom, which is in the master bedroom which limits some privacy and access
Had an amazing time at Joe's house! It's such a great escape from the city and so close by. We truly enjoyed the hot tub, the fire pit, and the amazing sound system just to name a few highlights. Hope to be back again sometime soon!
Joe was an incredible host and I expected nothing less after reading his stellar reviews. Coming from the busy city and arriving to Joe's sanctuary was exactly what my friends and I needed, a beautiful and peaceful property. I was running late in traffic and Joe spent a few hours with a friend of mine who arrived early to keep him company and show him around the house, I believe that kind of hospitality is priceless. If you are looking for a home that is unique, tranquil and full of amenities that can turn any stay into an extremely enjoyable one, stay at the Unique Rustic Adobe Retreat!
I can't say enough about Joe and his wonderful retreat. It exceeded all our needs for the weekend. I had a get together with some old friends and we were looking for some R&R in a secluded location with all the creature comforts and Joe's place seemed perfect. While I was already excited based on the photos, description, and reviews, my friends and I were super impressed with the quality of construction, design aesthetic, and attention to detail. The place is rustic and durable while at the same time, very design oriented and cosy. We arrived on a rainy night and Joe was waiting for us with a fire already raging in the custom wood fireplace. Joe (very easy going cool guy) showed us around and answered any questions we had and then left us alone for the rest of the weekend. We cooked up a feast on the BBQ and in the gourmet kitchen (fully stocked with spices and condiments), chilled out by the fire pit outside, hiked around the beautiful grounds (with no other civilization in site) and played foosball and pool late into the evening listening to great music on Joe's killer stereo/home theatre. Beds were all high end and very comfortable. In case you can't tell by now, we loved it and will be back.
About the Host, Joe
I am a Creative Director/User Experience Designer by trade, with a contagious enthusiasm for design in general. I love building things, and my house is filled with the items I have personally found, or altered, or built from scratch to make my "stage for life" unique. I spend my free time either "unlocking the potential" of the 25 acre property we live on, continuing to refine our home and outer structures, or looking for new adventures in beautiful Northern California.
I love the Airbnb playground. Not only the travel aspect, but the element of meeting new people, and getting to experience new places from another's perspective. Getting to "Walk a day in their shoes" you might say, and, likewise, as hosts, allowing guests to walk a day in mine.
