Come stay in our cute pet friendly craftsman style home walking distance to downtown SLO. Enjoy the SLO lifestyle with lots of outdoor activities, wine tasting to the north and the beach 10 minutes to the west. Minutes from downtown, dining and shops
This home is a 1920's craftsman. Your room has been decorated to be bright and inviting with an eclectic decorative style.
Guests will of course have their own private room with all linens provided. All the living space are available for use. You will have your own key and no time restrictions on entry. Plenty of free on-street parking is available as well as the driveway if necessary. Situated on a cul de sac means little street traffic. We are conveniently located where the 101 and highway 1 intersect.
Interaction with Guests
Our home is a cozy and the living spaces are shared so it really depends on the guest on how much interaction they would like to have. We both enjoy good conversation, getting to know new people and learning about other cultures and places. If you are interested in learning about the area we'd be happy to tell you where all the local secret spots are.
Being located on a cul-de-sac allows us to have more privacy, protection as well as offers ample parking. Our neighbors are all very friendly and we all watch out for one another. We share a driveway with our neighbors behind us & they are the greatest group of young gentlemen than you could hope to meet! :-)
Yes, there are many buses available. We offer our bikes for use when needed, and a taxi will take you anywhere in the downtown area for about $10. We offer free pick up to and from the San Luis Obispo airport and Amtrak stop.
Other Things to Note
Currently my husband works nights as a bartender at the Old Cayucos Tavern about 20 minutes north. He arrives home very late and has never disturbed anyone to date (we always ask) We are night owls so you can come home as late as you like. As always we want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We share a bathroom as there is only one but our schedule is so different that we never have a conflict.
Smoking is ok but cigarettes need to be smoked outside & away from the house - please make sure that the prevailing winds do not blow it at us & butts disposed of in the provided bin.
Pets are ok with an additional deposit, must provide proof of up-to-date shots, must be treated for fleas & ticks & get along with our dog & cat. We do have the yard fenced but the fence is only 3 feet high. Must pick up after pet. Cats are ok if they stay confined to the bedroom.
Please remember that this is our home, we are trusting that any & all guests who stay with us will respect our property. We will be happy to entertain for parties but local law states that we cannot have excessive noise outdoors after 10pm.
This was our first airbnb. We choose the location because the ad said we could walk to downtown. Downtown is 2 miles away. I consider walking to downtown 3-5 blocks. Wonder if there is a guide to what walking distance is? That would be good to know.
I was also surprised to be in a double bed and shared bathroom with all the people living in the house. Again, now I know what to look for if we use airbnb again.
Their place is great. Very very clean and cozy. Their cats and dogs are lovely. Danielle explained everything, she was helpful, and staying at their place was very nice. I would recommend to everyone.
We had a short but nice visit with Danielle. Enjoyed our conversations and had a good time in San Luis Obispo.
Danielle was very welcoming when we first arrived and very informative about the house and area. We sadly didn't get to see too much of Brent, but their two cats and two dogs made up for it. The walk back from downtown can be hard if you've visited some of the bars downtown. There also is only one shared bathroom for the house, but that didn't affect my friend and my schedules.
We only spoke to Brent and Danielle in the evening but we felt very welcome. The house was super cute and the room itself even more. Very comfy bed, perfectly clean, one of the nicest places we ever stayed. The pin map was amazing
We wish you good luck and hope to stay with you again if you happen to have airbnb in your new home!
We only stayed for one night but wished we could have stayed longer! The room was charming, comfortable, and had all the amenities. Danielle was an excellent host and made sure we were as comfortable as possible. She provided us an extensive list of things to see and do in the Big Sur area as well as in the city. We had a great night's sleep and would definitely like to return given the chance!

I love to do just about anything outdoors but my hobby is gardening. I'm kind of a "homebody" housewife but do enjoy going shopping, hiking, bike riding or taking my dog Rumbull for a walk. I've been told I'm a great cook & hostess that's why I'm trying my hand at airbnb. I'm outgoing, personable, a good listener, trustworthy and conscientious. I care about the environment. My husband & I are both easy going, flexible and open minded. We're always looking to make new friends!
