The Space

This home is a 1920's craftsman style home and we take great care to maintain this adorable little home. Your room has been decorated to be bright and inviting with an eclectic decorative style.

Guest Access

Guests will of course have their own private room with all linens provided. All the living space are available for use. We even provide bikes if needed. You will have your own key and no time restrictions on entry. Plenty of free on-street parking is available as well as the driveway if necessary. Situated on a cul de sac means little street traffic. We are conveniently located where the 101 and highway 1 intersect.

Interaction with Guests

Our home is a cozy and the living spaces are shared so it really depends on the guest on how much interaction they would like to have. We both love good conversation and love getting to know new people and learning about other cultures and places. If you are interested in learning about the area we'd love to tell you where all the local secret spots are.

The Neighborhood

Being located on a cul-de-sac allows us to have more privacy, protection as well as offers ample parking. Our neighbors are all very friendly and we all watch out for one another. We share a driveway with our neighbors behind us & they are the greatest group of young gentlemen than you could hope to meet! :-)

Getting around

Yes, there are many buses available. We offer our bikes for use when needed, and a taxi will take you anywhere in the downtown area for about $10. We offer free pick up to and from the San Luis Obispo airport and Amtrak stop.

Other Things to Note

Currently my husband works nights as a bartender at the Old Cayucos Tavern about 20 minutes north. He arrives home very late and has never disturbed anyone to date (we always ask) We are night owls so you can come home as late as you like. As always we want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We share a bathroom as there is only one but our schedule is so different that we never have a conflict.

  • Last week, I had a great stay with my dog Darcy at Brent and Danielle's house. This was my second time there, and the bedroom was even more comfortable than before. For something different in the area, I recommend walking at the City-owned Johnson Ranch. The 3 mile loop trail is so beautiful, especially in the morning.

  • They are a very sweet couple. We brought our little dog and they were very welcoming. The beds were comfortable. They are very honest and welcoming.

  • D & B's room was the perfect spot for our trip down the CA coast. The house was cute and very clean, and we had everything we needed. D & B also provided some great tips on where to go downtown, which is just a short walk away from their house. Definitely a great find. I'd stay there again!

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The house is quite cute and charming. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the heart of downtown, and located in a safe and comfortable neighborhood. Danielle and I ate grapefruit and chatted for an evening, on topics ranging from psychology to engineering to Cambria to car accidents. She is very engaging and a great conversationalist. To add to the warmth, their 2 y.o. bulldog (Rumbull) cheerfully greeted me when I arrived and their two cats (Blue and Sabrina) readily accepted me into their home. When I awoke in the morning, Blue cuddled next to me and Sabrina crawled under the blankets. I only stayed one night and look forward to staying with them in the future.

In summary, it was like staying at an old friend's place.

  • Danielle and Brent were most hospitable, the room was comfortable and cozy, and you cannot beat the location. It was the solo-getaway I sorely needed without the solitude that can accompany traveling alone. I would consider staying there again!

    Thanks!

  • It was great to be back in SLO and feel so welcomed. The apartment was an easy walk to downtown, dinner, and dancing. Josh and I had a great time. Thanks for the hospitality!

  • Adorable house, friendly pets, great hosts. The labeled kitchen is particularly helpful when searching for dishes!

  • Our stay was nice. We were just sleeping and hitting the road early in the morning. Bent and Danielle are kind and welcoming guests. The room is comfortable and the quilt is a nice touch. The stay was a bit noisy, the highway is close and the floors of the old house transfer sound. Their dog is nice and they were accommodating for our dog. The town seems very nice from the short while we spent there. I brought some travel coffee but Brent shared his nice coffee with me and made the morning better.

About
I love to do just about anything outdoors but my hobby is gardening. I'm kind of a "homebody" housewife but do enjoy going shopping, hiking, bike riding or taking my dog Rumbull for a walk. I've been told I'm a great cook & hostess that's why I'm trying my hand at airbnb. I'm outgoing, personable, a good listener, trustworthy and conscientious. I care about the environment. My husband & I are both easy going, flexible and open minded. We're always looking to make new friends!
