About this listing

Gorgeous 2 bedroom 2 bathroom Haussmanian apartment in Paris, impeccably furnished and newly renovated, located on the 3rd floor of a building nestled in one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods of Paris, in the 8th arrondissement.

The space

This 70sq.mt apartment, renovated and characterized by light hues which enhance its brightness, opens up onto a wide foyer fitted with a series of built-in closets and leading into the focal point of the house, the day area. The day area consists in a large living area dominated by two large windows and furnished with a double sofa bed (170cm wide), an antique armchair and carpet, and a white-washed sideboard matching the round dining table with its Viennese straw chairs. The kitchen island, fully equipped with all necessities including a dishwasher and combo oven, separates the day area from a hallway leading into the sleeping zone. Modern and stylish, the “island” flaunts built-in cabinets along its entire length, mingling in with the wall and creating a lovely pure, clean and linear effect.
To the right of the day area a wall encases a very tall sliding door through which is the study/guest bedroom, allowing for the original perspective of Haussmanian architecture to remain unaltered with its elegant three windows overlooking the Boulevard Malesherbes, when open. The room, small yet cosy and welcoming, offers a single bed (85cm wide), a silk-cushioned chair and a small trunk, in addition to its own en-suite bathroom, complete with a stall shower and toilet. The main sleeping area, however, is at the end of the hallway, to the left of the kitchen, where one finds the master bedroom with its built-in closets, Napoleonic double bed (140 x 190), Empire chair with silk seat, white washed trunk and an elegant 19th century writing desk. The main bathroom, beautifully fitted with designer items and stone inlays, is complete with large wash basin, bidet, toilet and bathtub with overhead shower.

Our stay was 6 nights at this property managed by a company. Apt looked exactly like the pictures but they seemed to have been taken with a filter. Once walked in it felt like the furniture was old & requires you to be extremely gentle. They specifically tell you to be careful with certain pieces of furniture. The bed in the master bedroom is sunken in on one side (closest to the door) so you have to be aware when you sleep. There was musty/moldy smell in the utensils drawer and wine openers were rusty. Found some small bugs all over the sofa and dining chair cushions from the opened windows but if you don't open the window the apt is really stuffy. Essentials are said to be provided but only 1 roll of toilet paper and 1 trash bag in each small barrel for the entire stay. When asked about it they said we had to buy our own which would have been no problem if we had known ahead of time; just caught us off guard. There are small packets of soap provided for shower and towels. The washing machine was broken and they said they couldn't fix it until the day we check out and would pay for our bill if we took the laundry to cleaners. At check out they did not ask us about it but it wasn't a big deal for us. And make sure you have 15 minutes for check out so they can check every bulb, faucet, appliance, etc. Good thing is there is a Monoprix literally few minutes away where you can buy everything. It would have been nice if there was a traditional bakery but the one inside Monoprix sufficed. Closest bakery besides Monoprix was 10 minutes walk away. The metro St Augustin is very close by and many bus stops. Velib station right downstairs which was very convenient. Ten minutes walk to St. Honore or big dept stores. The street noise carries throughout the apt so it’s best to keep the window closed or sleep in the master bedroom. 2nd bathroom is extremely small so we didn't even bother with it. Overall the location was probably the best reason to have booked this apt.

Response from Bettina:
Hello Lex, Thank you for your detailed feedback. I'm so sorry you were not completely satisfied with the apartment, unfortunately it is a bit old and we will do our best to make it better and fix things that are not working, such as the washing machine. I hope that you had anyway a nice experience in Paris and you enjoyed the ville lumière! Best, Bettina

The host was very helpful during check in/out and the apartment was just as posted. Location was super convenient - close to shopping district, a number of wonderful cafes and restaurants, supermarket, and metro station. The apartment is on the main street so light sleepers will prefer the master bedroom facing the inner courtyard. Kitchen was useful and bathrooms were nicely renovated. Plenty of space for a family of 4. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Come sentirsi a casa anche durante un lungo periodo di lavoro. Alla casa non mancava niente ed abbiamo respirato per tutto il periodo di permanenza l'aria di una casa accogliente.
