About This Listing
I have a 1 bedroom apartment with an additional full/double sleeper sofa for you in the living room in the lively, creative Lower East Side. Come share my home on your visit to NYC!
I have a 1 bedroom apartment with a sofa sleeper for you in the living room. The apartment is small, but the area is so amazing you won't want to stay indoors long anyway!
Great nightlife and some of the city's best restaurants are less than a 5 minute walk from here. Several trains as well as the M15 are within a 5 minute radius.
Fully stocked kitchen, linens, blankets, hair dryer, and basic toiletries are all included.
This is an old tenement building so feel free to check out the tenement museum just up the street while you are here! It might explain why the shower is in the kitchen and the entryway is a throwback to the gritty 1980's NYC (trust me - this is the best part of the lower east side charm).
Hope to see you soon!
My home is yours, so please feel free to use the kitchen and fridge and anything else you might find.
Coffee and tea (and any milk you may find in the fridge) are available for your enjoyment, so please enjoy!
Interaction with Guests
If you're up for a tour while here, I can show you some great LES spots. Otherwise, just make yourself at home and enjoy. The best part of paying for a place is zero obligation to entertain your host :-)
What's not to love?? 20 years ago, this neighborhood was the mecca of punk rock. Today, all sorts of galleries, amazing restaurants, and great independent retailers have popped up. Additionally, Thursday - Saturday, this is one of the most popular areas for night life in the city.
The neighborhood itself still looks grimy, but it's safe as ever. The area was gentrified 10 years ago, but residents don't want the punk rock feel to leave just yet. And then there's chinatown 2 blocks away..
The F, M, J, and Z trains are 1 block away. The B and D trains are a 5 minute walk away. Also, there are several buses (particularly the M15 and M15 select) 5 minutes from me.
If coming from JFK, take the airtrain to the J train and get off at Delancey/Essex. If coming from LaGuardia, take the M60 bus to the B train and get off at Grand street.
All 3 airports also have private shuttle buses, which are great if you have extra luggage.
If you'd prefer to take a car service, good luck car service charges the best rates. They are cash or credit, with slightly higher rates for credit card. Rates are as follows: JFK $37 cash, $45 credit; LGA $27 cash $33 credit; EWR $40 cash, $48 credit. (note EWR also has tolls). Their # is (phone number hidden). You will need to reserve the car in advance.

Wow!!! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in New York City. Michelle is incredibly kind and friendly. I loved this place and its area. The place is exactly as listed and it was very clean. Its location is great, close to public transport, so you can easily get around in the city. Thanks again for a wonderful stay Michelle!!
Michelle is a wonderful host. I really enjoyed my time at her apartment on the Lower East Side.
She is very knowledgeable of the area and when I thought that I would be spending my week solo (i was originally supposed to arrive with a friend) she invited me out with some of her friends.
Her apartment is very efficiently kept. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a traditional New York experience.
The only detractor I can think of would be for those over 6' tall. You will have a hard time in the shower. Not really a big deal for me, but just saying.
I will definitely look her up again when I'm looking to stay in NYC.
We cannot fault our experience here in this cosy, neat apartment. Michelle was so welcoming and kind and her beautiful, well behaved dog was impossible not to adore. The sofa bed was comfortable and we were supplied with towels and plenty of blankets. We very much appreciated helping ourselves to tea and coffee and were even able to connect our phones to the TV to watch films. The location is great as there is a subway station nearby for a 5-10 minute journey into Manhattan. It is walkable too and the area was very pleasant to walk through, wandering past many cute, independent eateries, bars and shops. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!!
Michelle is a very friendly person. The appartement is very small but for short time is it ok. The home was proper. The bed ok, a little bit soft for me but I could sleep very well. The home is situated near the east village, so you are very near of all attractions. I can recomend it.
I had a wonderful time staying with Michelle, she is welcoming and friendly and has great local knowledge. The sofa bed is comfy and the flat is clean and cute. The neighbourhood felt safe and is only a few minutes walk from the fancy, trendy Lower East Side and East Village shopping and cafés and bars and restaurants so it's pretty perfect if you like to explore on foot. It's walkable over to Greenwich Village too. Her dog is super cute and well behaved too. I would highly recommend staying here.
Michelle was a fantastic host and extremely helpful. The place is in a great area and close to transport. I definitely recommend staying with Michelle.

About the Host, Michelle
I'm a Manhattanite by day, but taking a break from the city and traveling every chance I get! If I'm not hiking through the catskills, I'm attempting surf at the rockaways, or jetting anywhere I can find a travel special to :-)
