North shore glamping
This fully outfitted camp site is located in a river valley at the base of Mt. Ka’ala, the highest peak on Oahu. The private gated community is close to all beaches on the north shore and only about 2 miles from Haleiwa town center.
Staying on this property will allow you to connect with and experience nature in an unforgettable way. Fall asleep to the sound of the stream and wake up to the beautiful songs of the birds on this one acre property.
This property is entirely off grid, yet still has the comforts of home. All energy is generated with solar power. Water is pumped from our private artesian well 180 feet below the surface of the earth. Experience the beautiful outdoors and serenity of the open air with the comforts of clean sheets, electricity, and a hot shower.
The 40' x 20' space is under a canopy of Monkeypod trees and surrounded by tropical plants and flowers. This is outdoor living at it's best. The lanai is fully equipped with a propane refrigerator, sink and stove. The outdoor shower is just a few steps away, where you can shower surrounded by beautiful red ginger flowers with a view of Mt. Ka'ala.
The bathroom with a water-flushing compostable toilet is about 30 paces from the tent.
We have many suggestions for hiking, surfing, snorkeling spots… Favorite restaurants, shops, massage therapists, a short walk to Orchard Oasis yoga.
There is a certified organic farm about a 5 minute walk up our private road where you can purchase organic produce directly from the farmer on Saturdays and Sundays.
Our guests have told us this hideaway is more than just a place to stay, but an experience of true native Hawaii.
Laundry facilities are available for use (one load per week) for guests staying 7 days or more.
Airport pick up and drop off is available (depending on our availability) for $50 each way.
This tent is on the same property with our main house and another tent, but the landscaping and the layout of the land allow for plenty of privacy.
Enjoy (when in season) sweet dwarf apple bananas, papayas, meyer’s lemons, Mexican limes, star fruit, wild cherry tomatoes, and whatever is growing in the garden at the time.
Bikes, snorkeling gear and surfboards available for use.
There are two friendly hens and a loving cat which may visit during your stay. No other pets are allowed on the property, sorry.
Please be advised that trespassing on neighboring properties is not allowed and can be dangerous.
Welcome to your off the grid hideaway. Please respect this green lifestyle and use common sense for energy efficiency. Generally speaking: Turn off lights, conserve water, and keep the power consumption to a minimum.
1. Please do not plug any electric heating elements into system. The solar inverter cannot handle the load. This includes but is not limited to: hairdryers, curling irons, etc.
2. The compostable toilet is very sensitive. Toilet paper should be kept to a minimum and preferably everything should be placed in the waste basket including floss, wet wipes, etc. Please let us know right away if there are any problems.
3. One load of laundry of allowed per week for guests staying 7 days or more. Please check with us prior because we may need to run the generator.
4. CONSERVE WATER! This property utilizes a small private well. Please be mindful of wasting water and be sure to let us know of any issues. When using hose, make sure spigot is turned all the way off when finished.
5. Please make sure all lights and power are off when leaving the property each day.
6. When leaving the property, please be conscious about where you turn around, especially if it is rainy out. When driving up the property, please keep a constant speed to avoid getting stuck in the gravel driveway.
7. This property is not serviced by a municipal trash service, so please be mindful of what you bring back to the property. Composting is available next to the trash & recycling for vegetable scraps, coffee grinds, etc.
Please let us know if you have any questions/concerns or see anything in need of repair.
We hope you enjoy staying here and feel fortunate to have the opportunity to share this land with you.
Great place to unwind ,relax and be part of nature. Good setup with comfy Bed and hot outdoor shower. Silvan is a very friendly and helpful host.
We had a wonderful time Glamping at Waialua!! Silvan and Adam have created a wonderful and authentic outdoor Lanai that my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed. so comfortable and so tranquil that we have pretty much forgotten or time at busy Waikiki. You feel remote, isolated and yet again only a few minute from the beauty of North Shore. I think we are already looking at our next stay and extending our time with Silvan and Adam.
The friendly kitty and the tropical birds were all part of the relaxing time there. We were able to really slow down and enjoy the end of our vacation.
I can't even begin to describe the amazing experience we had North Shore Glamping! It was definitely everything in the description and more. Silvan and Adam were amazing hosts, an absolute pleasure to work with from the moment we booked the trip to when we drove off the property. We even had some friends who were staying on the North Shore join us for dinner one night and they were bummed we booked the spot before them! If/when we come back to the North Shore, we'll definitely be staying at this location again. It was perfect!
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at this North Shore Glamping paradise! Silvan was so helpful and answered all of our questions prior to arrival promptly. Her directions to the property were spot on and as we began the drive down the road to the property we couldn’t believe how gorgeous it. Our “tent” was just as described/pictured and very clean! The bed was heavenly…I could not have slept better! The shower had plenty of warm water and all essentials were provided. The overall ambience of the property was beyond our expectations and all the wildlife and fruit trees were breathtaking. We had a couple of questions while we were there and even though Silvan was on vacation herself she answered right away, so nice! The property is pretty centrally located on the North Shore and you’re only a few minutes away from some great restaurants and food trucks and about 10 minutes from the beach! My biggest recommendation would be to bring lots of repellent if you are sensitive to bug bites (I noticed upon arrival that some was even provided!) The bugs weren’t as bad as I expected but they can be a little annoying in the evening so we enjoyed our drinks inside the tent. This was an incredible experience and we can’t wait to go back one day!
Silvan was great, really flexible with our arrival time, bike requests, and even killed a nasty spider!
This was just a great place to relax and made perfect hawaii experience. Not for sissy tourists for sure but best 3 day stay during our 3 week visit. They made us feel really welcome. Thanks again
