The apartment is a very small attic. There are steep small wooden stairs leading to a nicely decorated, fully furnished place, which you wouldn't expect given the size. Nonetheless, tall people beware: the ceiling is very low. Also, you should be able to move swiftly and carefully, because the apartment is quite narrow - especially the shower. Either way, the apartment was clean and had everything one could need. We were very impressed by how well everything was organized. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and the electric stove works fine as well. The Wi-Fi is very slow and a bit moody.
Me and my mother had a really nice stay at Cecilia's and Paolo's place. They were both warm and welcoming and the room was cosy and made you instantly feel like at home. I also really enjoyed the area around, the small but busy morning market, the pasticceria and pizza places nearby. I also recommend to take the bus or even walk (which me and my mother did) to Fiesole which is quite close to Via di San Salvi (bus goes directly from there) and it is amazing place up the hill where you can see the whole view to Firenze!
I highly recommend a stay in this lovely attic room, it has everything you need!
We had a lovely time staying in the wee attic - everything is so ingeniously designed to fit into the space! Great bus links with the city centre and a lovely quiet wee street. Cecilia and Paolo were very kind and welcoming, all in all I'd highly recommend a stay here.
The place has everything you need, technically. You need to be under 5' to stay there or you end up leaving with a few extra lumps on your skull. The electrical work was a DIY job, which is a little sketchy. There is a leak in the roof (conveniently right above the bed). The shower doors fold out into the bathroom, and about 4 square feet of the bathroom floor becomes your new shower floor (which you must squeegee after each use). The WiFi is really slow (download around 30kb/s).
After I left, the host told me the shower door was broken. He sent me pictures and it turned out there was a crack in the brittle plastic pane within the shower door. Considering you have fold up both shower doors like a complex brochure, I can understand why the plastic eventually cracked. The host then tried charging me my entire damage deposit because the cheap shower door was "custom made" and "rather expensive". The door was obviously cheap and bound to crack sooner or later.
My point is, this guy is a d-bag and will try to fleece you for anything he can find. If you are very short, willing to live in a place smaller than most bathrooms, and confident you will not leave a scratch on anything, then I recommend this place to you. If are not these things, I recommend you look for another place in Florence (there are many places with much better value).
We are very sorry for what happened . We do this work with great commitment and passion , and we are genuinely happy when our guests appreciate our home. We know very well that it is a small attic and we believe that the pictures perfectly and unequivocally reproduce reality. We think that the price is absolutely reasonable that we ask , as we have always maintained the excellent reviews of all the other guests . With regard to the review of Owen we would like to clarify that: 1) the electrical system is fully compliant and certified ( with the presence of life-saving automatic 2) the shower was custom made by a specialized company and requires a little caution in its use 3) the Wifi is not slow at all , on the contrary very quickly , as confirmed by the other guests 4) loss from the roof is only a water stain that appears in the case of very heavy rains , however, that we keep under constant review and we will be repaired as soon as possible .
To conclude we want to say that we have not tried to cheat Owen , but it is the rule of life that "whoever breaks it is he who pays" In fact Airbnb gave quite right to us".
The Cecilia and Paolo's flat was a perfect desicion for our holidays in Florence. My husband and I were really happy to stay there.
Paolo met us and explaned everything about the flat, the area etc. We also found on the table a hand-made book with all information about the city (it was very useful).
The apartment is fantastic! It's small but smart organized, nice decorated and very clean. There was everything we needed.
It takes about 15-20 minutes walking from the building to the Duomo so the location is also very good.
Cecilia and Paolo! Thank you very much :).
Tatiana and Vladimir
We had a very very very wonderful time at Serendipity. Paolo and Cecilia were very nice, always available for advice and help. They went to pick me up after I got lost on the way there!
The appartment is tiny and wonderful. We felt at home for the short period of our stay, with absolutely eveything we needed and true Serendipity. This little space is a true work of art ;)
Thank you so much, and we will certainly be back!
This is an interesting solution for organizing small space into a cozy apartment. The apartment is very well stocked, and has everything you need for a stay in Florence. The Serendipity is safe and in a calm neighborhood. Cecilia and Paolo are very attentive and friendly hosts.
But can be a some problem for people with high growth
Florence is charm and we want to come back here again
Cecilia & Paolo are the great host! We spent some wonderful days by attic Serendipity with all we needed, including even maps with marked points, where you can eat and where is the bus stop, and etc. Cecilia & Paolo are very careful and conscientious, we have only the best appreciations and recommend this pleasant place to stay in beautiful Florence!
This little attic is a very cute place to stay in Florence.
The design of the apartment is impeccable, and you can see a lot of thought has been put into conserving space while still making it a comfortable place to be.
It is very well stocked, and has everything you need for a short stay.
There is loads near by, including restaurants (the one directly down the street is brilliant!) patisseries, a laundromat, grocery store, bus stop, and even a regional train station which makes traveling to and from other cities such as Rome a breeze. All of this is within a 15 minute walk.
The number 6 bus takes you to the centre of Florence within about 15 mins, but otherwise it's about an hour walk.
The bed is a futon but its a very comfortable futon.
Hosts Cecilia and Paolo were very helpful and made sure they were always on call. Communication was super easy and friendly. They're a lovely couple!
Overall, it's a really great place to stay in Florence. It's very safe, in a calm neighborhood, and a very nice little place to be.
The perfect place to stay if you visit Florence: Lovely and charming! Cecilia and Paolo are very kind and always there for anything.
