Perfect. Well priced, clean, simple, next to a bus stop, next to a sandwich stop, had Apple scented soap. Host was very helpful, knowledgeable, and polite. He let us check in early so we could drop our bags off

This home is a fantastic space and a fantastic value. Just a short jaunt to downtown, and right next to the UCC campus, we loved the convenience of the location. The rooms were excellent, comfortable, and well sized. We enjoyed spending time in the common spaces as well to cook t…

Sad and unappealing, you'll love it if the smell of mildew is your friend. The whole place was odd, not charmingly odd, creepily odd. The beds were worse than old camping cots we used when I was a kid. If this is your last resort I pity you.

Response from Ciarán:
I was taken aback by Michael’s review of my property and it is of great concern to me that a guest would feel disappointed in any way with the service provided. Michael and his party of three booked for just one night, I met him and his family, showed them around the house and explained the sights & local attractions etc. I enquired if they needed anything for breakfast the following morning and asked them to contact me if they had any queries or problems of any kind. Michael did contact me to complain that the ceilings were too low in the house and I was perplexed as to why Michael would also describe the house as “odd, not charmingly odd, creepily odd”. I have had the pleasure of having many guests stay in this house in recent months and have received many reviews to date. As can clearly be seen all have been very positive and fair. At the start of the summer season each bed was fitted with a new mattress & mattress protector, the beds are sturdy and if Michael feels like comparing them to the beds that were built when he was a boy, then I’m sure those beds were well built then too. Michael mentioned the smell of mildew, however none of my many other guests have made any mention of this. This too is a puzzling statement from him. I feel that this review is unfair and didn’t have one single complementary thing to say about the house, its location, its proximity to the city centre, its host or even Michael’s time spent in Cork city. This indeed is a shame and is at odds with all my other reviews and the experiences of my many other guests. Having the facility to review a property is very important because it gives the guest the opportunity to report honestly and fairly on their experience and this in turn will give other prospective guests a taste or a flavour of what to expect during their stay. Unfortunately Michael was neither honest nor fair in his very “odd” assessment. As can be clearly seen from the many reviews from the other guests who have stayed at this property, they were happy with the standard of accommodation, its location, proximity to the city centre and service provided. It is always my intention to ensure that all guests staying at my property are made feel welcome & comfortable and also to enjoy their stay while in Cork and in Ireland. I wish Michael and his party all the best for the rest of their stay in Ireland.

Kieran was a terrific host. He flexed his schedule to accommodate our travel needs, greeted us warmly and even ran down to the store to get us breakfast fix'ins. We ran into a slight snag with the power but Kieran quickly found a solution. The place was clean, well situate…
