Sun drenched rustic cabin on a working cattle ranch in the San Luis Valley.
During the months of March, April and May cattle are in the meadows in the front of the cabin. With no wifi, this is a place to disconnect and be with nature.
Located just west of the Rio Grande, the Crestone mountain range and Mt. Blanca are to the north, and the Sangre De Cristo mountains are to the east.
Private, secure, wonderful get away.

The space
New Log Cabin on a working cattle ranch. Remote natural get away.
We clean deeply between each guest, but please be aware dust can blow in over one day, there are mosquitoes in the summer and flies in the fall. There is no A/C but the cabin cools down at night and has great air circulation and a large ceiling fan. There can be dust and cobwebs even after a deep clean.
You are in the country and that is part of the appeal, but be ready for it !

Guest access
Feel free to use all areas of the cabin ! There are many DVD's feel free to watch them. If you need to use spices oils feel free. If you are using the last of it, I would love to just know what ran out so I can replace it !

Other things to note
Please no smoking inside the cabin, and pick up all buts etc., do not leave trash outside! You will see wildlife : deer, coyotes, porcupines, many birds and elk. If you are traveling with dogs, please allow them to sleep inside at night.

You must bring your own drinking water and all groceries, and be aware that the closest grocery is 15 minutes away in La Hara, so plan accordingly !

(URL HIDDEN) it is about an hour and 20 minutes from the cabin .

The hot springs are fun as well and they have a a big pool where kids can swim

The town of Chama is a two hour drive but beautiful. In Antonio (about 45 min) they have the original trains that run up and back to Chama as well. You have to book it in advance : (URL HIDDEN)

I live and work in New York and built this cabin in 2011 with my family. I visit as often as possible and have lived there. It is a very special place !
During your stay
I live in New York City and am always available via the airbnb message service and text. The cabin is part of a larger ranch, there are periods of the year where they will be on the property working with the cows or the hay in the meadows behind the cabin.
