Private Room in a Bright Appartment

Apartment - Private room · Hæðargarður, Reykjavik, Capital Region, Iceland

The Space

A bright modern apartment, two bedrooms, one bathroom, livingroom, kitchen and a small upstairs (hardwood floors, not with full ceiling height, that can potentially sleep two extra people), lots of free parking plus washer, dryer and dishwasher.

The neighborhood is about a five minute drive from the city center. Mostly composed of families with children. There are two grocery stores, a fish market, meat market, a pharmacy and a small pizzeria all within walking distance.

Bus stops are located close by, the door to door trip (with walking to and from bus stops) takes roughly 25 minutes. A couple of nice parks, that are great for short hikes are also withing walking distance as well as some very entertaining playgrounds. A taxi from the apartment to downtown runs about (phone number hidden) ISK. (If I´m home I can always give you a ride:)

Feel free to contact me with any questions. I hope to see you in Iceland soon!

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Our stay with Inga was fantastic. Her apartment is absolutely beautiful, we were quite blown away by it when we arrived! The room for guests is cosy and the bed is really comfy. Inga has gone to extra trouble to provide a wardrobe and hangers, as well as really thoughtful details like maps, books about Iceland, earplugs (just in case you're a light sleeper) and other things you may have forgotten to bring. There's plenty of parking on the street outside too. Inga's dog Cohen is friendly and a complete softie. And Inga herself is just great - we had a really interesting chat with her about volcanoes and the Icelandic financial crisis (she must get asked the same questions by every guest!). We wouldn't hesitate to stay with her again when we're back in Reykjavik, which hopefully won't be too long!

  • When I first saw pictures of Inga's apartment I've had an instant feeling that her place would feel like home for us. Well it felt even warmer! We spent an amazing week with Inga and her adorable dog Cohen in Reykjavik during our stay. Couldn't wish for a better host!! Hope to catch up very soon xx

  • Inga was great. She was in contact constantly and made excellent recommendations for dinner. The place is great, super clean and cosy; and her dog is lovely. Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful time with her. I would stay again with her.

  • Inga was a phenomenal host! She helped us out a lot and was always giving us great suggestions. The apartment is such a nice place to unwind and it truly felt like a home away from home for us. If I ever go back to Iceland (which I will because it's AMAZING) I'll definitely be in touch with Inga and stay here again.

  • We spent an amazing week in Iceland that is a really lovely country. We will recommend to all of our friends to spend a short break there at least, and of course we will recommend them to join Inga. The flat is really nice, but Inga and Cohen really made our holiday special. We actually felt as being in a old friend's home. Do not hesitate to ask for advice of any sort.

  • My girlfriend Cui and I just finished our long trip and came back to Germany. Sorry for the late review. We really had a great time here with Inga. She is very nice. When she had time, she drived us to the city central and also drived us to the bus station the last day. She is a really perfect hostess. Cohen is well behaved and very clever. The flat is very clean and tidy. It`s really amazing!!! It`s highly recommended! Ps, We really really had a amazing stay in Iceland! Hope to come back some day!

  • Inga was the perfect host. She was friendly, helpful and great fun to hang out with. I loved our evening catch ups over a glass of wine and a cuddle with the lovely Cohen. He is the most adorable, well behaved dog. It felt like staying with a friend, which indeed she has now become. Her apartment is amazing. Very bright, spacious and comfortable. Fabulous shower with the added bonus of underfloor heating in the bathroom. I never tire of that novelty! A word to the wise - take the number 18 bus from town to whizz you home in no time. The number 14 took an extremely convulated and long time to get back. Thanks Inga x

  • Inga is by far the best hostess we have had without even being there. It was a shame that she had to leave before our stay as we would have loved to meet Inga and her dog Cohen. Even before our stay at this beautiful apartment she helped plan some of our itinerary and answered a lot of questions we had about visiting Iceland (great country btw). It also came as a surprise that she left us some traditional Icelandic delicacies (þorrablót food) when we were not expecting it. Great hostess and would love to stay next time we visit Iceland!!

  • Friendly and communicative. Nice room and easy to find location, just 10 mins drive from city centre. Lovely dog Cohen!

  • Inga was the perfect host, kind, considerate and informative. The apartment was lovely and peaceful and very cosy. She even got us a few things for breakfast because we arrived so late which was amazing of her. Late check in was very much appreciated indeed. We would love to come back and stay there again very soon. Thanks Inga. Best host so far!

Grew up playing in Reykjavik. I traveled a lot as a kid and teenager and have never really gotten enough. Moved to Boston when I was 20 for school and ended up staying for six years. I am now back in Reykjavik with my dog Cohen who is originally a bostonian via the south, and travel back to the US often to visit friends and family. A fan of the outdoors, the occasional run or two, dog walks every day, and traveling around the globe in good company to find adventures, music, food and new experiences. I will treat your place like my own (if not better, I am the guest after all) and hope that you will do the same for me. I'm a easy going traveler, things seem to usually go a lot better that way so I enjoy the ride. Currently, I am going back to school, this time pre-med (finally figured out what I wanted to do in life, it was not finance) so if you are coming to visit me I'll most likely not be home much or with my noes stuck in a book. Never too busy for a quick pick up drop off at the bust terminal and always reachable by phone. -Inga
