1bed/private bath/Parking/Victorian

House - Private room · Folsom St, San Francisco, CA 94110, United States

The Space

I have a large sunny bedroom available in our remodeled single family Victorian house on tree lined Folsom Street in the vibrant Mission district. The house has two fully self contained "apartments" on separate levels with large sunny decks on all floors. Both levels share the extensive Japanese garden and the laundry room. The house has windows on all three sides and is very sunny.

The bedroom for rent is on the quieter upper level. This level is fully furnished with 2 bedrooms and 2 newly remodeled full bathrooms (rain shower-head, Duravit fixtures, wall hung toilets, marble tiling). This level has a large open plan living room/with a small kitchen. Living room also opens onto the semi-private sunny deck (19'-0” x 10'-0”) with comfortable garden furniture and a small gas BBQ. There are 11'-0” high ceilings and hardwood floors throughout (living room has carpet). This level is only shared with one other person.

The bedroom for rent has double doors that open onto the large semi-private deck. The furniture in this room is new and is from Room and Board: bed is queen size with new organic linens: towels are also provided. This room is only available when I am out of town and there is a 5 night minimum stay.

There is one quiet professional guy in his mid 30’s living on the upper level, with whom you will share the living room/kitchen. Jeff works Mon - Fri 8 - 5 and spends his free time mostly in his bedroom. You both have your own private bathroom. We have 3 professional roommates living downstairs (a married couple and a single male) whom I have lived with for 14 years – they are all in their late 40's. The couple has an adorable 5 year old boy. There is a shared front door to the house but each level has their own separate private back doors. There is no wall separating upstairs and downstairs. It is a very stable, lively and supportive household.

My husband and I have remodeled the house and furnished it with objects from his portfolio and our foreign travels. (I'm an Irish architect). We have made a very comfortable and artistic home that I love and I would like it to be enjoyed by other like-minded people.

The house is on tree lined Folsom street which is a 10 minute walk to 24th street Bart: the #12 bus runs along Folsom Street into downtown. Free parking is available in our private driveway. The house is centrally located to great restaurants: Flour & water, Heirloom Café, Salumeria, Locals Corner etc. There are wholefood stores and parks in close proximity. The house is also seismically upgraded which is something to consider living in San Francisco! Parking for one car is available at the end of our long driveway.

  • It was our first Airbnb experience.I wish I couldn't make it because of an accident at last minute. But I will definately renew the experience.

My parents felt in Ursula home a really warming and comfortable vibe through the decoration.
I didn't have the chance to meet Ursula who was on vacation at the same time. But she wrote me a lot to help us to prepare perfectly our stay. (tips to visit the area and information to feel comfortable at her place)
The location is perfect (3 stops from downtown and a direct bus line to get to Fisherman's wharf.
We'll keep this address and we do recommend Ursula home for discovering San Francisco.

  • We were fortunate enough to spend a lovely six days staying at this gorgeous home in San Francisco's Mission district. Lovely interiors, perfect facilities, a wonderful experience - it was a wrench to leave. Safe, quiet, close to local amenities, an all-round joy frankly. Sorry for gushing but this was the happiest of trips. Ursula was helpful and informative in advance, the house was everything the listing promised and more. Can't recommend this property highly enough!

    Response from Ursula:

Thank you for your kind words David, I really appreciate the positive feedback. I hope you and Alison had a good time visiting the city and seeing the sights. We just got back a few hours ago very jet lagged after 24 hours in the air over the course of 3 planes, but we had a great trip and would certainly go again in a heart beat. Best regards, Ursula

  • Ursula was a great host. Her home was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed our stay immensely. We would definitely look forward to staying at Ursula's again.
