Stay on a houseboat in Brooklyn, a one bedroom apt on the water in Gerritsen beach. Only 35 min to manhattan by subway and 10 min to Coney Island amusement park with its famous cyclone roller coaster. A quiet location with good neighbors. You are in walking distance to the movie theater restaurants and bus stop. The interior has a kitchen with stove, microwave and frig. A flat screen tv with cable and wifi Internet. And for sleeping there is a full size bed and a futon. Access to the marina is though a locked gate.

i will not be present during your stay but i work in the area and can be reached by phone or airbnb web site.
The B4 bus is on the corner from the boat and that will take you 10 minutes down the road to the Q and B subway line. The cost of the bus and subway is $2.50. The subway takes 35 minutes into Manhattan and your first stop in Manhattan is canal street. There is free parking in front of the marina. the closest airport to the marina is JFK. a cab from the airport will cost about 35 dollers and takes about 20 minutes to the marina with out traffic.
No smoking in boat, quiet time on dock at 11 p.m, no animals.
Caryn and her husband were very nice. The Location is in good condition, everything clean, thank you so much!:)
Location was great and secluded - so much so, I had trouble finding it. Nonetheless, it was very close to local restaurants and Coney Island.
This is a one of a kind experience and my boyfriend is still raving about it. I'm sure it's even better in the summer.
Pretty houseboat outside the trouble of Manhattan! We had a great time and Caryn and her husband helped us immediately Whenever we needed their support!
Stay on Caryn's houseboat was perfect for me. When I arrived, there was ample parking, the lockbox was right outside the gate, and everything in the houseboat looked exactly like it did in the photos. Caryn had left some small snacks, coffee, maps, and directions for getting to the city on public transportation. Despite the chilly weather, the houseboat was warm, with two heaters and a down blanket for the bed. I really enjoyed my stay and imagine it would be even better there during the warmer seasons. I would definitely stay again!
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time on Caryn's houseboat! It's so thoughfully composed and decorated, it's easy to forget you're on a boat. Although we went at the end of February, the boat was perfectly cozy and warm, with little fake-fireplace heaters and beautiful views of an icy marina. The bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen well equipped and stocked for the size. It was too cold to spend much time out on the decks, but we did bundle up and grab a bottle of wine to watch the snow fall on the roof deck one night! It was an excellent escape from living in the city, but still accessible enough that we could leave on Monday morning and easily get to work in Manhattan on time. There are great amenities close by (including a well-stocked 24-hour deli/grocery), and some fantastic restaurants within easy walking distance. We did have a plumbing issue arise due to the extremely cold weather, but Caryn was accessible the entire time. She helped us sort everything as quickly as it came up, and it wasn't a problem for long. By the end of the weekend, we never wanted to leave, and hope to come for another stay once it starts to feel like summer again!
I had an excellent time on the houseboat. Caryn wasn't there for the weekend but her husband made me feel very welcome. There were some issues due to the winter weather but her husband helped us so much and everything was back to normal. It was definitely worth the experience!
Caryn was awesome- very responsive and even let us check in a day early due to the big snow storm. Everything was as described and we had an awesome time!
