The Space

Location, location, location!
Brand new, just remodeled darling studio in the heart of downtown Mountain View is just minutes from local tech companies and close to Stanford. Perfect for visiting scholars, students, summer interns, and those in town for business.

Cottage Details:
This little cottage sits behind the house and looks out on a sunny patio and garden. There are no shared walls and you have a separate /unique entrance. Full of light, two French doors lead into your private cottage which offers everything you need for your next trip to MV.
Studio amenities include: One full size (real) bed plus sofa with pull out sofa-bed in the living area- Catch up on emails using the high-speed wi-fi or read a few books while you enjoy the sun from the overhead skylight.
- Closet and dresser for storing clothes, suitcases, etc
- Need to clean up before heading out? Hop in the brand new shower in your private bathroom. (Towels and linens are included.)
- Modern kitchenette has granite counter tops and plenty of cabinets for storage if you want to stay a while.
- Heat up a meal or snack in the microwave.
- Coffee maker included for your morning cup of joe
- Mini-refrigerator with ice maker is perfect for a cold drink you can enjoy out on the patio. (Dishes, cutlery, etc are included).

One block to Castro street where the shops, restaurants and bars of downtown await. No need for a car, you can walk everywhere! In town for business that's slightly farther? No problem! You're just minutes from the Caltrain Station (and a Baby Bullet train ride to San Francisco) Close to CA 85, US-101, CA-237, and I-280.
Additional Transportation Details:
- VTA bus stop < 1 block away: Route 35 takes you to Stanford University and shopping center
- Caltrain (Mountain View Station) is a 5 minute walk. Take the train to Palo Alto/ Stanford (10-15 mins), San Francisco (40 mins) and all the stops in between.
-Conveniently located 10-15 minute drive from San Jose Airport and 40 minutes from SFO Int'l Airport (via taxi or shuttle). Additional public transportation options from SFO includes BART/Caltrain.

No smoking in the cottage and you shouldn't mind dogs. I have two and while they're mainly inside, they have been known to chase down a squirrel or two on the patio. :)

We can't wait to have you stay with us and look forward to meeting you!

FAQs:
Q: How many people can the studio sleep?
A: The studio is perfect for 1 person, but can accommodate 2 people if they're a couple. It's less ideal for roommates given the layout of the room. There's a full size bed (real bed, mattress +box spring) as well as a pull-out sofa bed.

Q: Is there wi-fi?
A: Yep. There's dedicated high-speed wireless internet in the cottage.

Q: Are there shared walls/a shared entrance?
A: Nope. The studio sits behind my house but is it's own structure. Separate entrance (via driveway/backyard) and no shared walls. It's totally private!

Guest Access

Please make yourself at home by helping yourself to anything in the cottage (it's stocked for your arrival). Feel free to enjoy the outside patio/garden or cook a meal on the bbq.

  • Erin´s cottage is clean, comfortable, quiet, lovely. I enjoyed my four weeks stay. There is outside a place for barbeque -- really amazing! The cottage has everything you need, even a cooking plate. I was really appreciated by Erin´s welcome-"Care-package". Many thanks!

  • Erin is such a great Host! She is always quick to answer and help whenever there is a question. She is always smiling and very kind. I absolutely loved her place and it felt like home very early on for me during my 3 month stay. The place is very charming and bright. There is a ton to do and walk to near the cottage. It is in the middle of everything. I would love to stay here again when I return for work in the future. Thank you for being awesome Erin!

  • Staying with Erin was great! The house is perfectly situated about 10 minutes away from the Mountain View Caltrain station which is extremely convenient for anyone visiting any of the local tech firms (most of which have shuttles going from the station to their offices).
Erin's two dogs are very friendly and were very happy to say hello the couple of times I saw them. Overall, highly recommended!

  • "Studio" doesn't really do justice to this amazing little space. Erin has thought of everything to make for a relaxed and comfortable stay. Erin is lovely to deal with, and the location is great - perfect set up!

  • The studio worked well as a cozy but comfy base for our small family (a toddler and two adults) as we explored the area for one week. Erin was a great host who accommodated our "special needs" as parents and cyclists, and the garden was a perfect place for our toddler to roam and to have outdoor meals at the end of hot days. The location in the heart of Old Mountain View is awesome, too, and if you have business anywhere in the Peninsula area it's a fantastic place to drop your bags.

  • I have got excellent accommodation conditions. Erin is a wonderful host. She knows how to treat guests, especially coming from a long distance. The place is well equipped and has wifi. Additionally, it is a special place for those who like dogs. Erin has two wonderful friends.

  • A charming and well appointed studio flat in a quiet neighborhood. I was here for business but it would also make an ideal base to explore the Bay Area. Erin was a lovely host, communication was fast, friendly and helpful and I really enjoyed this trip.

About
I think meeting new people is the best part of traveling and hotels can sometimes be isolating. I grew up in Mountain View so I know the area like the back of my hand. Looking for a great restaurant, place to explore, or may be your next apartment or home? Let me know I'm happy to help with recommendations or neighborhood insights.
