Mette was kind and went out of her way to make my stay comfortable and easy. I needed to interview for a job at the OHSU campus and she gave me a ride the morning I checked out. She had great suggestions of places to go in walking distance from her apartment and provided me with a map and umbrella for some unexpectedly heavy rain showers!
Was only there for one night, but Mette's house is beautiful, clean, there's ample parking and we were very comfortable. Mette was also really friendly and helpful.
Mette was a wonderful host! She picked us up at the nearest MAX stop, gave us 3 comfy beds and was very hospitable. We stayed for 2 nights and were given fresh towels and a beautiful apartment to stay in. On our last day, we left a pair of shoes under the bed, and before we flew out, she met us downtown to drop them off to us! That was so amazing! Mette has also started a scrubs company ((website hidden))..these scrubs are super comfy and cute- mette let us get sized and she gave us a pair to test out. Because we were not totally prepared, she let us borrow umbrellas and a map of Portland. We would definitely love to stay here again!
Stayed one night with Mette, comfortable bed, nice apt, great neighborhood to enjoy hilly walk above downtown. Mette gave me great directions to walk downtown...20 min on way down, about 30 to walk back up from PSU campus area.
Mette is an efficient and hospitable lady. She answered my request in an hour for booking her place the next day. In addition she was really kind to offer to pick us up from downtown. Her place was up on the hills by downtown and it would have been horrifying to walk uphill on the steep slopes. Luckily, 23rd street and vista was a very fun journey to walk back downtown and to the 23rd street area. Also, the MAX lines red/blue were on 18th avenue and was about a 15-20 minute walk from Mette's place. Her place was simple yet comfortable. It was very pretty and quiet at night. The guest room and Mette's room were on opposite ends of the hall so there were no worries of disturbing each other. If you ever try to call Mette's and hear the voicemail, don't worry, she owns a private business and thus the voicemail might sound like a work phone but its actually her private line! Also, cabs were about 10 bucks from downtown, which is very reasonable for a late night ride.
Mette was a excellent host. The apartment and room were clean and in good shape. The bed was especially comfy with lots of pillows and covers. The only problem for me (because I was on foot) was getting to and from the apartment as it was near the top of steep hilly area with limited bus service. But Mette was gracious enough to give me an occasional ride when needed so it wasn't too bad an experience in the end (I guess I could say got some exercise in).
Mette was such a nice host. She was very open minded, nice to talk with, and I will definitely recommend anyone to stay at her place. Thank you so much Mette!
Mette is very nice host and the location is pretty nice too. Not really public transport friendly but is very close to downtown and there is ample street parking around. The room has a conditioner and a separate bathroom (that is not in the room itself though).
Mette is a great hostess. She is super casual and friendly. Her accommodations were clean, comfortable and exactly what she advertises. The apartment is located in a quiet upwardly mobile neighborhood. It's close to downtown too. Parking was easy.
Mette was a great host and very friendly. Her flat is in a gorgeous section of Portland that hovers above the city- the views from the bridge a few blocks south are breathtaking. I will stay here again when in Portland.
