The Space

This listing is for our second guest room. Please see additional reviews for us under our other listing also entitled "Arizona Sanctuary."

Eastside location, gorgeous mountain views, safe neighborhood for walking or riding a bike. Close to AMAZING bike riding paths and hiking locations, Tanque Verde Guest Ranch, Saguaro National Monument East, Colossal Cave, horseback riding, Sabino Canyon, Gaslight Theatre, and Mt. Lemmon. Since we're from Tucson, we can also give you more tourist info as needed and will have a AAA book and map available for your convenience.

We have typed up a list of things To Do, See, and Eat in the Tucson vicinity and are happy to provide this to guests. We have also printed off the local bike routes, bike stores, and have an area in the garage where people may store their bikes. Just let us know!

We are 20 minutes from Mount Lemmon by bike, and 15 minutes from the bikepaths on Old Spanish Trail by bike. Also, if you bring your bikes during your stay, we can secure them in our garage for safe-keeping. We also have bike pumps, tools, etc.

Our neighborhood has lots of great running/walking paths with minimal traffic.

There is a bus route biking distance or a bit of a walk. We suggest that people have a mode of transportation when visiting Tucson other than the bus.

  • This was our first experience using airbnb and we would definitely do it again. Holly and Kyle were very accommodating and so helpful supplying us with information about bicycle routes, nearby restaurants, places to go and things to see. The room was cozy, the bed comfortable, and the coffee/breakfast just great. We had a private bathroom the entire stay. We liked their friendly dog and cats. Would sure stay with them again!

  • I stayed 4 nts. with Holly & Kyle as it was very close to some friends I was visiting. They were very accommodating about my late arrival. My room was as presented and comfortable. It is a bit warmer due to the sun in the day & the room being upstairs, but not terribly so - and there is a ceiling fan. A variety of cereal (they had my fave - Pumpkin Flaxseed), fruit and coffee was provided for breakfast. And, Holly was kind enough to share her ironing board & hair dryer with me. I really did not see much of them as they both work. I did share the upstairs bath with my friend who rented the 2nd room on offer and that was fine.

  • We enjoyed our stay with Holly and Kyle! Their home is large, comfortable, and well located to access outdoors activities, including Saguaro National Park East and Sabino Canyon, both of which we highly recommend! It is about an hour to cross the city to other attractions on the west side. Holly and Kyle communicated well about arrival and specifics about staying in their home. The house is open floor plan, so in the evenings, you will likely hear the TV. We didn't spend much time together until our last night when we enjoyed sharing airbnb stories and learning about life in Tucson. The pets were all sweet and quirky and definitely should not deter you from staying with them, even if you are not a pet person. The backyard is really lovely and apparently a good place to spot local wildlife. Overall, we would recommend as a nice, affordable option in Tucson.

  • Had a great stay in Tucson with Holly and Kyle. I am a cyclist and the location was perfect for (website hidden). Lemmon, Pistol hill, and Spanish trail are all close. They have a garage for bike storage and a tire pump. They provided a healthly breakfast and fruit in the mornings with coffee. There pets are friendly and fun. Thank you for the fun stay!

  • Holly & Kyle were very wonderful hosts. We missed the communication with them about our arrival time and they were still very accommodating. We stayed 4 nights. The room and bed were comfortable with closet space and a dresser to use for our clothes. It was nice to have a private bathroom but we weren’t expecting it to be downstairs since it was listed as being next to the bedroom. Breakfast and coffee was available every morning on the counter. We especially appreciated that the patio was available for us to enjoy the Arizona sunshine and stars. Holly and Kyle gave us suggestions of places to eat and things to do that were very helpful. We found this to be a great place to stay on our vacation. We enjoyed our time with Holly, Kyle and their pets and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a room in Tucson.

  • Holly and Kyle are wonderful hosts, and while my stay was brief (one night) I arrived to a warm and clean home. I especially loved meeting all their pets. They were helpful with suggestions for activities within the area, and I would most definitely stay with them again.

  • Kyle and Holly were good hosts, were easy to communicate with, and their house was clean, quiet, and comfortable. And their pets were very friendly too. Also, having coffee, cereal with milk (both dairy and non-dairy options), and fruit available for breakfast was a nice bonus.

The only thing that was unexpected was that the bathroom we were given to use was downstairs and not upstairs next to the bedroom as the posting for this room had indicated. It was not a big deal for us, but might be an issue for those who don't want to go down and back up a flight of stairs for every trip to the restroom.

Overall we had a good experience and we would recommend Kyle and Holly's house to anyone looking for a place to stay on the east side of Tucson.

  • I only stayed for 2 nights so didnt get to know Kyle and Holly very well. However, brief time I spent at their place was comfortable and enjoyable. It's clear that they are cool about hosting strangers in their house! Also fun to meet the two other guests staying in the house at the same time. The dog and two cats (especially the gray one) are friendly and are nice additions to the household (I'm a cat person and cat owner).

I was in Tucson for the gem and mineral show, which happens mainly in the downtown and surrounding area. This house is in a nice neighborhood and rural part of far-east Tucson, but is at least a half-hour drive with no traffic to the gem show action, so not a very convenient location to gem show activities. That for me is the only "negative" I can think of, but that is specific to my gem show-related activities while in Tucson.

I'd stay with Kyle and Holly again for sure. Go Cats!

  • Hosts were friendly and made things as convenient as possible. Room was perfect for someone like me who just wanted a place to get some rest. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

  • We couldn't have been happier with our stay here at Holly and Kyle's Arizona Sanctuary. The bed was comfortable, the bathrooms clean and the kitchen inviting for those who like to cook. We were able to unwind either outside on the patio by the pool or relax in the family room area set up especially for guests. Holly and Kyle are gracious hosts and gave us great ideas of things to see and do as well as places to eat. We definitely recommend Holly's & Kyle's B&B and would love to stay here again the next time we are in the Tucson area.

We are an easy-going, professional couple who have lived in Tucson for years. We would be happy to advise about what to do and where to go, whether that be outdoor adventures or fabulous dining. We know all the local spots and can recommend scenic hikes, romantic horseback riding, Indie movie theaters, and the best Mexican and ethnic restaurants in town! We love travelling and use Airbnb to book vacation lodging whenever we can. We would appreciate the chance to host fellow guests as well. We look forward to your visit!
