By room: $125 for 1 person, 1 BR. 2nd person in room is +$25. Multiply by bedroom requested. 2nd room for your children is less: $75 for 1 child/1 room +$25 for sibling in same room. THIS LISTING NOT 4 WHOLE HOUSE! SEE OTHER LISTING!
This Airbnb listing you've arrived at is for a single room (or 2), overnight, for one person. [NOT FOR WHOLE HOUSE! SEE OTHER AIRBNB LISTING FOR THAT! Different pricing] We will be here while you are here, and this isn't a B&B. Feel free to cook your own food, you'll have a separate refrigerator, and your children can have an available room right next to yours for $75 for 1 child. Add another $25 if sibling is staying in same room. Family of four (parents, two siblings in same room) renting 2 bedrooms on same floor is therefore $125 (1st room) plus $25 for spouse/partner ($150) plus $75 for 2nd room for child, plus $25 for 2nd sibling ($100). Therefore, the price is $250 for one night for a family of four. Not as cheap as all of you in one hotel, or a Marriott Residence Inn, but if you want a home, don't want to sleep with your own children, need to hire a babysitter to come to our home, and go out to events, this is probably perfect! Again, this is not intended to be cheaper than a hotel, just an upgrade for those who want and need that while in town, particularly a place to cook your own food, or have friends over for dinner all together in our home, with the outside grill and the amazing kitchen all to yourselves! You even get your own mid-sized refrigerator to put your foods/medicines/juices! All the comforts of home. (but no daily maid service)! We do have a 10 year old yellow lab, so if anyone doesn't like labs or dogs, this wouldn't be for you!
As you can see from the pictures, we have many bedrooms, 3 with internal bathrooms of their own. End of Rugby Road area, walking distance from downtown historic mall and to Rotunda. Each room is $150 for one person. A max of 2 people in one room. Two bedrooms next to each other on the 2nd floor are easily used for children if you have concerns they are too far away at certain ages! (must rent the second room of course, but email me and I'll let you know the price. If it's a family needing an extra room for the child/children then it will be half price if available).
Our 2 college students are at UVA (down the street) so we have lots of room in our home. Happy to host you if you inquire with specific details about yourself, your trip, your needs, the purpose and if this is a UVA-associated trip or you are an alum of the school, let us know. We'll be excited to help you! I'm an '84 undergrad, 2013 graduate school, currently faculty at the engineering school. We do have a big happy 9 year old yellow lab, so if you have any type of dog-fear or dog allergy, this isn't for you. No other animals here. No smokers please, inside OR out on the property. This is a great neighborhood and we're happy to have eggs and bacon and OJ ready for breakfast but don't expect too fancy. It's SO much more fun to go out to all the great restaurants.
If you're looking for great things to do here, go find Charlottesville on a website called scoutology and see what there is to do. Very impressive information they've put together.
You have access to all that we do. Grand piano, wi-fi, bedrooms have TV and cable, and help yourself to the kitchen to cook. We also have a separate second floor small refrigerator for use by the rooms on the 2nd floor (two 2nd-floor bedrooms with queen-sized beds and both have their own internal bathrooms). Access to laundry, every area of the house except 2 bedrooms (1 on the first floor and the master bedroom are not rented unless the entire house is rented per the other Airbnb "whole house" rent listing we have separately). No access to the basement, of course. We have bikes you can borrow if you're here for awhile. Perhaps even golf clubs if you need them!
Interaction with Guests
We ask our guests to tell us how much interaction they are interested in having. We have our home offices on the 3rd floor along with a separate living room so we go down to the first floor to cook and get food and we go to the second floor to sleep so there needn't be much interaction unless you need something. Just let us know!
We live on a cul-de-sac so no cars going through. There is no parking on the street so it is a neighborhood of young parents (mostly faculty from UVA) and children and scooter riding and fun for all. Very relaxed.
UVA bus is 2 blocks away at Madison Street, across from Washington Park. The Charlottesville transit is steps away on Preston Avenue. Very easy. Everyone rides bikes as well.
No smoking at all. Just not interested in smokers. Other than that, help yourself to cook in the kitchen, or join us when we do. And no pets as we already have a big lovable lab and you just never know what mischief he'll get into with other animals if brought here. We also periodically have two college age children hanging around but they're pretty busy and studious, even in the summer!
My wife and I spent a long weekend here. Our hosts were very gracious and welcoming, but also gave us plenty of space to get work done. The house and provided room were very nice! Well-located if you are interested in getting to UVA or downtown on foot.
I really enjoyed my stay. Leticia and Mark were very warm and welcoming and Zach the dog was exceptionally friendly.

6 bedrooms all to ourselves, right in town. Happy to help if you need a short stay, particularly if you have family at the UVA Hospital, in for a UVA interview overnight or here for a football or other sports game. Most people rent the whole house for large family reunions, weddings, or UVA graduation. We walk to UVA football games from here but not for the faint of heart!
