Side note - I normally go out and explore 5 plus days a week; I love this city because I can see myself taking the rest of my life to explore this area. I modestly, if I may, consider myself a pretty decent worldly chef and take food, drinks and entertainment seriously. I will be fine tuning my list of places to "must see!" the more I explore, and the more my wonderful guests share : )
Life is to Short to not be on the Ocean - Cheers to Salt Life.

I had an awesome experience with these guys. They made me feel completely at home. Its sometimes stressful traveling on my own as a single woman in a new city. So staying with strangers can be a hit or miss. These guys were a hit. The place is beautiful, clean and warm(friendly), The private entrance is ideal because I don't always like saying hi. The less than 5 min walk to the beach , AMAZING! All in all I would surely stay here again, Don't get a hotel and spend a ton of money. Stay here!
Great location. Great people. Great kitchen. The private drive is very convenient.
Not on the beach.
No air conditioning. Just a fan.
Bed sheets and pillow cases are old and moldy.
The bathroom is not a private bathroom.
The bedrooms are separated by an open doorway so if you're looking for privacy, don't stay (website hidden) has a blue ray player but no digital cable. So if you want to watch a movie on a 27 inch screen, you're good there.
People live upstairs and you can hear them walking around and talking. Thin walls.
We picked this place because the description and photos seemed nice, but when my coach and I arrived we didn't really feel comfortable. I left immediately to go to the gym and after my workout I came back and my coach was so uncomfortable that we had to leave. I asked for a 50% refund from the host because we had spent a total of 2 hours in his place, but he wouldn't give it to me. Pretty lame.
Honestly, it's on the level of a Motel 6. If you like Motels, then you'll be okay here. If you like real hotels like a Sheraton or a Marriot, then you won't like it.
This is my first negative experience with Airbnb.
Like was an amazing host. Very warm and welcomeing. He was very enthusastic about the area and took the time to tell me about all the best spots to eat and hang out. He also had some time off while I was there so took me out to try out a new dinner spot. The room was big and had a great bed and back entrance which pretty much felt like a private patio. Also, the red claw foot tub is amazing.
The location is undeniably awesome as well. Smack in the middle between the chill Neptune Beach and the more lively night life of Jacksonville beach I was able to spend time in the day reading, drinking coffee and enjoying the local galleries at Neptune then head down for a wider variety of dinner options and entertainment at Jax Beach. Both locations are walkable from the house, about a mile in either direction, or there are plenty of local places you can rent a bike if you don't have a car with you. I used my moped to zip around and it was great. There is also direct access to the beach only a block and a half from the room. All in all a phenomenal stay with amazing hosts! My AIrBnB bar is now set very high!
