****Room listed as already booked? Please contact us regarding availability!****

Come spend some time in a community-minded, sustainable-living collective house with us. We're located in one of Rochester's most scenic and vibrant neighborhoods, close by to nightlife, good food, and very close to the best market in the United States, the Rochester Public Market.

We don't smoke and prefer to host non-smokers.

We're located on a bus line that'll get you downtown in about 10 minutes or so for $1. We also offer bicycles at a rate of $5/day or $15/week. The buses here have a special rack for bikes, in case you fancy a bit of hybriding.

We're happy to provide pick up/drop off at the train or Greyhound/Trailways/Megabus stations as a courtesy to our guests. We can also offer rides to and from the airport, but for this we ask that you pay a fee of $20 as it"s quite a bit out of the way for us. You can also catch a taxi for about $30-35 or (and this is possibly the best deal) you can ride the bus directly to/from our home to the airport without a single transfer for only $1 (the only downside being this method takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour).

There is a rich abundance of on-street parking available with no alternate-side or other restrictions, but if you'd prefer to park off-street, we can make some space available for $2 a day.

We also provide free wifi, and there are laundry facilities available for your use.

We'll gladly show people around. In fact, we prefer to spend as much time with our guests as we can, schedule permitting! We'll make you breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner depending on when we/you are around. Or, if you'd like to make us dinner, we can show you to Wegmans, the Taj Mahal of grocery stores or (perhaps even better) to the local food co-op. Our meals are organic and vegan-friendly, but you're welcome to buy and eat meat if you'd like. We would prefer that you did not use our kitchen to cook it, though.

There is no end to our supply of towels, pillows, and blankets. We also have a disturbing amount of reusable shopping bags (feel free to take one of those as a souvenir when you leave). The toiletries are plentiful here as well. No need to lug around those 2 liter bottles of shampoo and conditioner when staying at the LFC!

We look forward to hosting you!

  • Super awesome folks! Highly recommended.

  • The guys at the ROC were lovely folks! Picked me up at the train station and were super hospitable. I didn't see much of them as had plenty to do during my stay, but felt very welcome and that they were available for anything I needed. The room was comfortable and quiet and a great deal. I'd recommend it as a great affordable option in Rochester. Multiple busses right infront of the place made it super easy to get into town too.

  • Joe and Julia were nice courteous hosts. The room was clean, and the bed was super comfortable. I attended a conference while in Rochester, and staying at RocBnB was a much better alternative to a hotel.

  • What a wonderful place to stay! I’ve got allergies, so it was great to be in Mary and Jesse’s pet-free home. They were friendly and welcoming, and Mary even picked me up at the bus station. I felt at home right away, and their two delightful children welcomed me also. I was lucky enough to be invited to several yummy, vegan community meals, and yet I had plenty of privacy when I wanted it. It was inspiring to see my hosts’s work in city permaculture gardening, rehabbing old houses, creative re-use, and building community.

  • Friendly stay with a nice and quite room. Really easy to get to with no hassle even on the bus.

  • Joe and Julia were great. Super welcoming and very laid back. They invited me to eat dinner with them, gave me full access to the kitchen, and great tips on things to do in my short stay in Rochester. We got hit with about a foot of snow the first day I was there, and Joe even helped me shovel out my car the next morning. The house is bustling and full of people - including a small baby, which I really enjoyed!

  • This is a fantastic place to stay. They are so friendly and accommodating. There is a lot of life in this house. We would not stay anywhere else.

  • I had a very nice stay here. Hosts were great and so were the cats. :-) Joe and Julia go out of their way to make sure you are invited to community events and welcomed.

I also had a very nice talk with Joe and you can tell that he is very open minded and well traveled. I would deinitely stay again while in the area.

  • Julia and Joe were very good hosts and always helpful. They have a nice baby and two cats. We enjoyed to be there. The room is ok and clean. Their house is in a safe neighbourhood. you can easily go downtown. They have many friends and you can say there is really a little community growing...

We can recommend staying there, if you don´t want the cats come into your room, just keep the door closed.
