  • We (myself, husband and son) had a really nice and enjoyable stay at Ray’s studio. Our beds were comfortable and the room was very cozy.
Our host although off site, was helpful with all the instructions to assist us in using the available accommodations.
The Brooklyn neighborhood was fairly quiet and close to a market and the J subway station making it easy to get around both Brooklyn and Manhattan!

What a great spot! We totally recommend staying here. :)

  • This apartment was perfect there was a grocery store right around the corner. We were able to use the kitchen which had everything we needed. There is also subway stop 200 feet away. We always felt safe in the neighborhood and the apartment was very comfortable and clean! Ray responded to our messages quickly and I would recommend staying here to anyone!

  • This was my first time using airbnb and I was definitely a little skeptical. Although that changed once we arrived at the apartment. Ray's directions that came in the form of a text message were very clear. Ray responded to my messages very quickly although there was hardly any needed because of how set up the entire stay was. The apartment was very spacious and it was conveniently located about a block from the J and a few blocks from the M which made travel super simple. I would definitely come back to this apartment and I encourage others to stay here if they are visiting New York.

  • Ray's place was great, super close to the subway and comfortable. The neighborhood was peaceful, with everything thing to meet our daily needs. Ray was easy to contact and made sure we had everything we needed. Ray's place is our new go to when traveling.

  • Séjour à NY très agréable grâce à ce petit appartement assez bien situé (30 min de Manhattan en métro) et très pratique car les commerces sont à proximité et il est possible de garer la voiture dans la rue. Je conseille fortement ce logement.

Do not hesitate to contact him.

  • We had a great stay at Ray's place!

He was very responsive when I had questions for him and helped us out with anything we needed.

The place itself was very clean when I got there. And really, really spacious. It is a studio, but I could imagine you could fit 20 people in there no problem. There is also a kitchen which is separate from the living room which is fully equipped (from what I saw). The bed is big and comfortable.

The neighborhood isn't the greatest in the world, but I would still say it is safe. Within a block you have a grocery store, liquor store, subway, and bodega, so I would say it is pretty convenient in that regard.

My only "complaint" would have to be that the location is out of the way. Yes, the J line on the subway runs right next to the apartment, but it was a hassle to get cabs to take us home from Manhattan. Luckily we both know New York pretty well and it wasn't an issue.

One more thing is that the place can get very cold at night in the winter .There is a thermostat, but there is also a draft that comes in from one of the windows so I would recommend bringing extra heavy clothing if you are staying in.

Those two things are negligible considering the great deal that this apartment is. I would definitely recommend booking Ray's place.

  • This is my first experience on bnb website. After searching more several apartments only Ray keep the room for me until I booked.I didn't have chance to meet Ray.But we kept contact by smg here until I left.We found the key by ourselves in front of the (email hidden)e apartment is cozy and clean and the location is near J line ,it takes 20 mins to go Mahhatan downtown. There is a nice kitchen in the room but we didn't have chance to cook.Although the building of third apartment is a simple one,if you walk around the area ,there are a lot of brown stone historic houses around.Besides,on the right side of this apartment ,there is a small but good Chinese restaurant which I really like and a small super market where u can find breakfast. Thanks Ray to give us nice stay in Brooklyn.I am strongly recommend it!

  • Ray's apartment worked really well for what we wanted to do in New York, which was explore Brooklyn. The apartment is basic but clean and comfortable. It is right on the subway (the J), which takes you into Manhattan quickly. It is a little bit south of Bushwick (about a 20 minute walk from most of the bars / restaurants in the area and the L) but we found it interesting to see the different neighbourhoods by walking.
Ray was easy to get in touch with, and while we didn't actually meet him, it was simple to get in and out of the apartment.

About
I travel a lot and cannot live without exploring a new country and city. I spend a lot of time trying different restaurants. Best investment: netflix and hulu. Favorite shows: Scandal, Suits, Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, Mad Men Favorite Cities: Shanghai, Tokyo, London, Barcelona, San Francisco, Paris, Vienna, Berlin, Hong Kong, Toronto, Kyoto, Montreal As a guest, I would expect a clean place. I am not dependent so I can handle the rest. In other words, I would hate to be a burden on my host. As a host, being accommodating is key and all the essentials a guest will need is provided.
