The Space

PLEASE NOTE.."Holiday retreat Dingle" has three listings; one for each room. If one of the listings shows "unavailable", then please check our other listings by clicking on "Linda".
Stephen and I rent rooms in our lovely house situated 8kms west of Dingle on the beautiful Slea Head Drive. Stephen is a musician and painter, and I am a musician and Ayurvedic massage therapist.
A continental breakfast of fresh bread and rolls, local cheeses and jams, fruit, tea and coffee is included: but, if you're up for a hearty Irish breakfast, I can whip one up for you too.
There are plenty of things to do and see within a few kms of our place; such as, Irish trad music, local pubs, beautiful beaches and landscapes for painting and photographing, swimming, surfing, diving, fishing, horseback riding and hill walking. And of course Fungi, the dolphin! Its also worth mentioning that if you're into golf, The Dingle Golf Links Course is just 4kms down the road.
And, after a day full of actiivities, you can have an Ayurvedic massage to relax and unwind.
We are 2.5 hours from Cork and Shannon airports, 1.5 hours from Kerry airport.
Stephen and I look forward to making your visit to Ireland a warm memorable experience.

Guest Access

Our guests have access to the kitchen, sitting room and back yard if its a sunny day and they wish to eat outside.

Interaction with Guests

Stephen and I are very social and we love meeting people from all over the world. We let our guests be at ease with how much they want to socialize with us. If a guest wants to do their own thing and only have a few passing words, that's fine. If a guest wants to sit in our sitting room by the fire and have a good conversation, that's fine too. Either way, Stephen and I are always here to answer questions and make sure everything is ok.

The Neighborhood

We are situated on the Slea Head Drive which is considered the "mini Ring of Kerry". We are within walking distance to several beaches, hiking trails and mountains. And, we're surrounded by beautiful landscape.

Getting around

There is no public transportation to our house. We are 8kms west of Dingle town. There are several buses to Dingle and from there we can pick you up (10 euros) or you can take a taxi, or rent a bike.

Other Things to Note

We do not have WiFI but we have a USB Dongle modem which our guests can use on their laptops or they are welcome to use our computer for getting online.

  • Staying with Linda and Stephen was great. Their home is comfortable and very clean. Both animals — lovely dog, curious and funny cat —, know how to respect guests.
Linda and Stephen offered me one of the best experiences in Ireland. Breakfast was super!
In one of the days, and after 42 km in their bicycle doing the fantastic and unimaginable Slea Head drive — both ways, though not complete, thank God! —, I came home in pain :) but full of energy and warmth and pleasure, and quite happy with everything. Later in the evening, Stephen played some really wonderful songs from Scotland and Ireland, while me and Linda were melting like the coal next to us at the fireplace. I'll keep this memories for long time. Thank you for such a nice welcome. We'll meet again.
That place is magic, and I do understand why they have chosen Slea Head drive to live.
I'll definitely return to Dingle. Thank you both for everything.

  • Linda prepared beautiful breakfasts each of the 3 mornings we were there; I hope we have not gained too much weight! We received good advice as to what to see and do (it fitted in with our plans nicely). The only negative thing is that if you want to visit the pubs in Dingle for the music, you will have to drive back several kilometers fairly late after others (of course not you) may have drunk too much.

  • Beautiful location, about 5 miles from Dingle - a magical relaxed town that somehow manages to be charming and raucous, authentic and vacationy, all at the same time.
This home was on the windy, beautiful peninsula right on Slea Head. We rode our bikes from Dingle, through wind and some rain... I would recommend a bike for hearty souls or adventurous types; otherwise a car might be best!
Linda and Steve were attentive hosts who made us feel at home and very comfortable in their cozy home with warm fireplace, tea and good conversation.

  • Delightful place! Dingle is beautiful and Linda's home is conveniently located to the town and the Dingle Loop. Her family were warm and welcoming. She prepared a delightful breakfast. She provided a comfortable bed and an excellent shower! Sweet place to stay.

  • Linda and Stephen were great. They shared their home and nice warm fire with us generously and Linda made a fantastic breakfast. If you stay with them, make a point of allowing time for a Ayurvedic massage from Linda. It is my one regret about our trip that I was not able to do that. The room was clean, warm and comfortable and they made great suggestions for places to eat, here music and sights to see.

  • Linda and her husband were very welcoming and good hosts. They were both very friendly and always made sure I had enough to eat :) Their home is located close to some amazing scenery too. I had a great time staying here! It is worth noting that they do not have wifi. This was not a problem for me though.
