There are plenty of things to do and see within a few kms of our place; such as, Irish trad music, local pubs, beautiful beaches and landscapes for painting and photographing, swimming, surfing, diving, fishing, horseback riding and hill walking. And of course Fungi, the dolphin! Its also worth mentioning that if you're into golf, The Dingle Golf Links Course is just 4kms down the road.
And, after a day full of actiivities, you can have an Ayurvedic massage to relax and unwind.
We are 2.5 hours from Cork and Shannon airports, 1.5 hours from Kerry airport.
Stephen and I look forward to making your visit to Ireland a warm memorable experience.
Our guests have access to the kitchen, sitting room and back yard if its a sunny day and they wish to eat outside.
Interaction with Guests
Stephen and I are very social and we love meeting people from all over the world. We let our guests be at ease with how much they want to socialize with us. If a guest wants to do their own thing and only have a few passing words, that's fine. If a guest wants to sit in our sitting room by the fire and have a good conversation, that's fine too. Either way, Stephen and I are always here to answer questions and make sure everything is ok.
We are situated on the Slea Head Drive which is considered the "mini Ring of Kerry". We are within walking distance to several beaches, hiking trails and mountains. And, we're surrounded by beautiful landscape.
There is no public transportation to our house. We are 8kms west of Dingle town. There are several buses to Dingle and from there we can pick you up (10 euros) or you can take a taxi, or rent a bike.
Other Things to Note
We do not have WiFI but we have a USB Dongle modem which our guests can use on their laptops or they are welcome to use our computer for getting online.
The kitchen is available for self-catering for guests staying more than two nights. Washer is available at 5 euros a load. The dryer can only be used if it is impossible to dry clothes outside on the line or by the fireplace. Use of the dryer will cost 5 euros a load. Pick up service to and from Dingle will cost 10 euros.
We stayed one night in Dingle with Linda and Steve. We got the double room with ensuite bathroom. They are very nice and friendly people and we enjoyed chatting with them (about what to do in Dingle, the County, where to eat, listen to music, etc) We also had a good talk about cinema and funny-good films. Linda prepared a delicious breakfast with omelette, sausages, cherry tomatoes and some herbs. But she asks first if you are or not vegetarian. She also offers fruits, tea, coffee, jam, butter and bread. The area is nice with great views and easy to move around with GPS. Towels were provided and the room was nicely heated and prepared for our arrival. If I come back to Dingle, I definitely will try to visit them again. We recommend staying at their place.
Linda and Stevie were wonderful. Both made me and my boyfriend feel very welcome, almost like old friends. Their home is very warm and homey, and their pups were just sweet as could be. The breakfasts that Linda made were fantastic! No cereal and toast, but french toast one morning than a lovely veggie omelet the next with bacon! Yum! I would highly recommend staying with Linda and Stevie. They will make you feel like part of their family, no matter how long (or short) your stay.
My grandson and I had a very enjoyable stay with Linda and Steven in Ballyferriter on the Dingle penninsula. Linda and Steven made us feel welcome, and Steven's bread was delicious. I also really enjoyed playing with dogs Billy and Rosie.
Linda and her Partner were really kind to us and we are really happy about our stay. The room and bathroom are clean and good, the breakfast was really tasty!
it s a nice spot for people who wants to discover the Dingle Peninsula!
Linda and Mike were extremely welcoming and went out of their way to make us comfortable in their beautiful home. We loved playing with the dogs and sitting by the fire playing music. The area around the house is beautiful and we really enjoyed our trip, thanks!
We had a nice and warm welcoming stay, very kind people, close to their guests, and had the opportunity too hear some lovely fiddle tunes after breakfast ! Thank you for everything!
Yes, both Linda and Stephan made my stay very warm and welcoming. They made sure I was comfortable and were such nice company when I was there after a long day of site-seeing; I very much enjoyed chatting with them. I also especially enjoyed their pets, Billy and Lucy…sweet and funny characters. It's about a 10 min drive to the main town of Dingle, but not too bad. It's right on a main road that you would be on for site-seeing, so that is very convenient. Linda also is a great cook…I loved her breakfasts and her thoughtfulness in cooking different meals each morning. Thank you!!
