About this listing
The natural beauty surrounding my home creates an incredibly peaceful environment and the state park trails along the river are ideal for walking or running.
I will be in India for one year beginning January 2015. I currently have one room available for airbnb. Karen will greet you upon arrival and you may have the opportunity to meet Lane or Dru whom also live on the home.

Interaction with Guests
I try to be aware of when guests would like to have a glass of wine or cup of coffee and chat or when they need space. I'm okay with either.
Quiet, dead end street with river access.
We are not on the bus line, it's probably within 2 miles. Parking is in our drive. If you need assistance getting to and from places we can try and help.

We stayed at Sophia's house for 4 days. We couldn't have chosen a better house and a better host! Sophia is one of the most positive people I have met. We had great conversations with her and other residents- John, and Karen. The farm is adjacent to river Eno, and there are several hiking trails close to the farm. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. We would love to stay there if we need to again.
Sophia was a great host and made us feel very welcome! The location was perfect for us to explore the surround area of Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Durham, etc. The room was cozy, and a relaxing space to recover from our long trip from Florida. And we enjoyed our New Years Eve there!
Sophia was warm and welcoming and a fascinating person to talk to! Her house sits on the Eno River and it's peaceful, quiet and beautiful there. The room was clean and private and had a little desk from which I could work. Sophia was very accommodating and generous. I'd stay there again!
Sophia has a lovely, relaxing house, and I got out of it just what I was looking for. I stayed for a month while working at Duke, and it felt as much like home as I could've hoped.
Staying with Rachel was fantastic. She is a gracious host- she went out of her way to loan some camping gear she had in case we needed it while we were in the area, showed us a hiking trail and allowed my dog to stay while we were out for the evening. Honestly, can't give staying with her a high enough review. Great property, house, room and host. Thanks for making our weekend work out so well Rachel!
Sophia was the best host, so friendly and willing to help with anything. We were very happy chatting away with Sophia and her guests at breakfast- so welcoming and fun.
We were welcomed to make ourselves at home, by using any amenity with no problem.
The room was gorgeous, clean and quiet (away from the rest of the house) and the door opened to the most beautiful view. At night, you could hear the nature & it felt so peaceful.
Would love to stay with Sophia again, and look forward to possibly seeing her in India at her next B&B !!

About the Host, Sophia
Please Note: On January 27, 2015 I am heading to India for one year and Ragamuffin Farm will be overseen by my friend Karen.
My info: I am a mom to four grown men and grandmother to two. Over the years I have designed databases, web sites and owned an ecommerce business with a current focus on SEO and social media marketing. I love working in the yard, growing my own vegetables, cooking, reading, hiking and geocaching.
Originally from the Catskills in New York I spent many years living in Oak Park, IL dreaming of being an urban farmer and that dream came true on the banks of the Eno River right here in Durham, NC. Though my life has recently taken me much further abroad I still enjoy coming home.
If you’re here this spring and summer, relax and enjoy the quiet, lounge on the balcony overlooking the backyard, walk in the river, take a hike on the trails, sit beside the Eno or just enjoy the front porch. Feel free to make a salad and veggies, fresh from the garden! I will do my very best to make your stay comfortable, enjoyable, and peaceful. I look very forward to meeting you.
