About This Listing
This cozy studio apartment sits square in the center of Brooklyn coolness. Not a big space, but the location more than makes up for that. Its located on the border of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.
The studio is fully furnished and ready to go with free wifi, flat screen TV and Bluray, APPLE TV. It accommodates 2 people with a full sized bed as well as an additional twin sized mattress if necessary. Private kitchen and bath with microwave and toaster. Free use of bicycle with U-lock included. I provide you also with fresh linens, towels, tea kettle, hair dryer, soap and shampoo.
In addition to many other cool stuff (designer here), my book collection contains several guides in and outside NYC, whether you need city guides, neighborhood guides, gay guides, walking tours, or day trips out of NYC without a car.
All in all this is an area and home of reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the big city, while only being steps away.

Khalid was a wonderful host! The room was equally great in a nice neighborhood and incredibly convenient to the C train into Manhattan or for walking to restaurants in the Clinton Hill area and let's not forget the Saturday morning Brooklyn Flea!
I stayed at Khalid's apartment for 10 days, and was very pleased with my stay. Very comfortable, clean, and quiet. My only complaint would be that the kitchen was a bit too small for actual cooking. Preparing simple breakfasts and lunches was no problem, though. Khalid met me when I arrived and went over everything regarding the apartment and neighborhood. He was very friendly and welcoming; my flight came in late but he was very understanding about the delay. I'm familiar with some parts of Brooklyn, but had not spent time in Fort Greene before. Khalid had some travel guides available and sent me his own guide to the neighborhood before I arrived; I especially appreciated having his restaurant recommendations to refer to. Fort Greene is safe, attractive, and convenient. From the apartment you can walk to the Brooklyn Museum/Prospect Park in about 1/2 an hour. Also very convenient to Manhattan; the subway will take you there in about 20 minutes. The C train is one short block away and within a few stations, you can transfer to other lines. The G train is a couple of blocks away as well and can be useful for getting to other parts of Brooklyn as well as Queens. Overall, I was very satisfied and would stay there again.
Khalid and the apartment were both great! Khalid was flexible and easy to work with. The apartment is in an exciting, recently gentrified neighborhood with lots of great restaurants. It's near several subway stations; the closest one (the C train) is just two short blocks away and a short subway ride from Manhattan. As for the apartment: Although it's a typical New York City studio apartment (in other words, small), the bed was comfortable, it was clean, quiet by NYC standards, had interesting paintings hanging on the walls, the TV got a bunch of cool channels, and Khalid welcomed me by leaving some beer in the fridge and some chips and chocolates on the table. If I had to come up with a negative, the only thing I can think of is that there's no counter space in the kitchen area, so cooking would have been a hassle. But, hey, who visits NY to cook while they're there? The microwave and toaster were all I needed for my morning coffee and toasted (NYC) bagel. The next time I'm planning to visit NY, I'll definitely check airbnb to see if Khalid's place is available.
We loved Khalid's place, we really did feel right at home. The apartment is a studio and it is cozy, but your in brooklyn/ New York so it makes you feel like a local! The apartment was
Safe we never had any problems from anyone in there or hear of any. And the streets around the apartment are safe too we walked around late at night and never had an issue. The train station is super close and super convenient to get into Manhattan- we traveled to Manhattan everyday sometimes
Twice a day and purchased a week train ticket that takes you anywhere you could possibly want to go, for $30 for the 7 day unlimited ticket you definitely get your money's worth! And make sure you check out the pizza restaurant on Washington Ave called Emily's- best pizza ever! Loved Khalid's apartment, I would recommend and If I ever return to nyc I know where I'm staying :)
My fiancee and I had a great time! The listing is accurate, the neighborhood is very cool. The place itself is great, it lets in nice light, and has a very comfortable bed and tasty snacks in the fridge. The host met me upon arrival and was very welcoming and friendly, and provided great communication.
Enjoyed my week-long stay at Khalid's studio. The place was quiet, in a nice residential neighborhood, and had all that I needed to feel comfortable and at home. The location was great, close to shops, restaurants, and cafes for coffee and small bites. So easy to hop on the subway. And Khalid was wonderful, kept in communication with me, and made me feel welcome.
About the Host, Khalid
I'm originally from Virginia, but came here to study Architecture at Pratt Institute. I've been living here in the neighborhood for the past 15 years, and stayed in the area because I love it so much. I also make fine art on the side (mostly painting) as a hobby, which will be immediately evident when entering the space.
I'm a very down to earth and easy-going guy, and here to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible.
