After more than one month spent living in the house, I know why Susan is a superhost, and it is a pity that you can't assign 6 stars to the house: Susan is one of the best persons that you will ever live with (careful, always available, tactful), and the house is beautiful and very comfortable.
20 minutes walking from the ND campus, five minutes by bike. Not far from supermarkets. Very quiet neighborhood.
Susan was most accomodating providing a private bath and plenty of linens for bed and bath. Susan even helped me out providing an iron and board for some touch ups I needed. A generous offer was made to help myself to any food she had, however, I was kept very busy at a University parent weekend. I was only at Susan's long enough to sleep. Susan's home was very quiet and clean. The bnb is not within reasonable walking distance to campus, but with weather in the single digits I did not even attempt.
Susan was very accommodating and made the entire process simple. She was very flexible with when I could arrive -- a big plus, considering I was driving 11 hours -- and I felt very at home.
Susan was not there during my stay, the house is in excellent location and environment, everything was left ready for me and the accommodations were very tidy, thank you for susan.
Susan was not there during my stay but she left excellent instructions on everything in the house. Everything was left ready for me and the accommodations were very tidy.
My trip was cancelled so I did not make it to South Bend but my friends did and had only great things to say: "Susan was very quick to respond and super accommodating. We got the key right away with no problem. It was a bit of a walk to campus but not at all unreasonable. The place was beautiful!"
My wife and I had a terrific 2-night stay at Susan's place this past week. Susan was very easy to work during the scheduling phase and all was in order when we arrived. Susan's home is extremely clean and in a nice quiet neighborhood close to the N.D. campus (about 1.6 miles). Susan was a perfect hostess and basically opened her entire home to us right down to offering us use of her two bicycles. A very good experience and we highly recommend staying with Susan. We hope to be back.
I am a professor at Indiana University in South Bend. I teach photography in a small art department. I travel a fair amount. I lead a study abroad program with a group of students from IU to Florence, Italy. I speak just a little Italian. I am also studying french now. I have been to many parts of the continental US. I am partial to the midwest and the Third Coast. If you are in South Bend to visit the Golden Dome, cheer on the Irish or their opponent, or for a specific research project, let me know. I am happy to host. And if I am in your town, I will look on this site first for a unique place to stay.
