From the lookout you can clearly see the large urban design: first the upper town, represented by Albayzín, and another, lower level City also began to occupy the same time Zirid, as evidenced by the fact that the Mosque, the eleventh century, to rise in what is now the cathedral and church of the Blessed Sacrament. Further east, the imposing spectacle of the Moorish Alhambra, framed by the great backdrop of Sierra Nevada

Meeting point for the inhabitants of the Albaicin district, shopping and games. This area reflects the pulse albayzinero, mixing the charm of its small community and warmth. In Long Square and its major tributaries, which are Water Street and the street Bakers can buy everything. Also contributes to this market that is installed in the plaza, as lively souk in the city

We had the most amazing experience in Blanca's house! It was 43 degrees celsius outside but the "cave" was a cool temperature at all times! Clean with everything provided. Very centrally located. Blanca was super helpful and delightful. I would highly recommend this wonderful house.
The house is splendid! A white cave house charmingly furnished and always cool inside !! The old neighbourhood is beautiful take good shoes white you and travel light because the streets are steep and narrow. The view on Granada is beautiful !
Blanca was very accessible via telephone. She had her good friend Mary meet us at the meeting place and walk us to the house. It was a long walk, as was described in the listing, and it was over 100 degrees so the temperature and the luggage made it a bit stressful. However, the area was quiet and very interesting once we got settled and learned where things were. Blanca was helpful and attentive. She responded immediately to a question that I had about where to leave the keys.
Blanca is a terrific host. She speaks sufficient English, was attentive and present when needed, great about suggestions for dinner, sightseeing, etc. She even made arrangements for a taxi to meet us at 6:45 am (an ungodly hour in Spain)! This house has charm, yet it requires some walking up and down hilly cobblestoned streets which we enjoyed. The neighborhood is Albyzin/Serranonte.
Awesome place. Very cool on the inside. 25 minute walk to the Alhambra (mostly downhill). Uphill on the way back. The "free parking" is just on the side of the street but we had no troubles. Also you walk down several flights of stairs to get to the place so not a good place if you can't easily carry all your luggage. I recommend having a way to contact blanca when you get their (call/text) because we had trouble doing that bc we didn't have those options and had to wait a while to be taken to the place.
The good: The "cave house" was very clean when we checked in. It was around 40 degrees but nice and cool inside. Internet worked great and the terrace was great in the morning. Blanca was very nice and helpful, checking in to see if we needed anything. The apartment is in the heart of the Albacin which is a must see for anyone visiting Granada.
The bad: Parking is FAR from this apartment, with stairs, cobblestone and steep hills in between. The beds are not comfortable.
The ugly: felt like we were sleeping in a damp basement, everytime we came back more of the ceiling was on the ground (so make your bed every day!)
In short, if you're looking for a unique experience, this is a clean, beautifully decorated cave house. If you're looking for a comfortable place to wind down, look elsewhere.
Although we didn't get the chance to meet Blanca. She had a friend Maria to meet us at the flat. We also arrive the day after our booking of the flat due to train issues. But we were able to contact Blanca with no problem. The flat was located up on the hill where we had to carry our suitcases to several cobblestoned staircase. It was sure a work out early in the morning. The flat was pretty but as we entered it felt a bit muggy with minimal air circulation. Some parts of the ceiling were kind of crumbling and other parts had what seemed to be mold (?), which was somewhat concerning. But it was cool which was great, due to the heat wave we encountered in Granada. The patio was a great hangout spot and the neighborhood was beautiful and safe. If you are traveling in a group, one thing you should know is that the partitions from bathrooms to bedrooms had gaps between the ceiling and the wall meaning you would hear everything going on in the bathroom throughout the house. Depends on what level of privacy you would like. Blanca was very easy to reach and helped us arrange taxis via Airbnb message and woke even a little early to call for one for our early train, which was much appreciated. We didn't stay to long in Granada but we did capture the most beautiful sunset on top of the hill. The view anywhere was beautiful.
