The perfect place to experience historic downtown SLO!
The property on which the guest house is located is a highly sought after and popular historic neighborhood of San Luis Obispo. This unique guest house space is situated on the second floor above the garage away from the street. It was originally the carriage house for the main home. The special juxtaposition of the apartment places your view at tree level overlooking the other buildings
in the neighborhood which creates a peaceful, tree-house effect. Perfect for a weekend getaway or extended vacation! The apartment is approximately 450 square feet and provides a single bedroom, bathroom, living room, and kitchen. The bedroom has a brand new queen size bed and lots of closet space to stow away your belongings and keep the space clutter free. The bathroom has a combined shower and tub. The eat-in kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, gas stove,
and dishwasher. The galley-style layout makes food reparation a breeze. There is a private deck off the entrance to the apartment with a bistro table and chairs that is divine for sipping a morning cup of your favorite beverage or
enjoying a drink at the end of the day. An off-street parking space makes loading and unloading easier and saves you from trying to park on the busy street. We also have two bikes that are available for use if desired. (San Luis Obispo
is a very bike and pedestrian friendly city!) For those who are looking to stay long-term access to the washer and dryer can be negotiated. The neighborhood is popular for many reasons. A main factor is its proximity to downtown San Luis Obispo, a mere 4 blocks away. Shopping, restaurants, movie
theaters, bars, art galleries, museums, and Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa are all within a short walk, ride, or drive. Even closer, right around the corner, are some local favorites: Sally Lou's Cafe, Lotus Asian restaurant, Cafe Roma Italian restaurant, Gus' Grocer Sandwiches, Del Monte Cafe, and Meze wine bar. There is also a wonderful yoga studio, Yoga Centre, around the corner. Many
people in the neighborhood also utilize a bike path (3 miles round trip from the house) near by for exercise or commuting. The path runs along the train
tracks. There are numerous mountain biking and hiking trails throughout the city and all within a few miles from the house. \r\n\r\nThe Greyhound bus and Amtrak train station are two blocks away. Several public transit bus stops are nearby as well. The airport is a few miles away, a short taxi ride or quick drive, from the house. The freeway is also easily accessible from the neighborhood. We live on the same property but keep to ourselves. We have a little boy who plays in the yard and a tenant that rents the rear portion of our home.

Our neighborhood is very close to all the fun and excitement of downtown SLO but far enough away that it is quiet. It is easy to walk, ride a bike, or hop on public transit to get around. We have so much that is right within a few minutes walk you really can't complain.
There are several public transportation stops in the neighborhood for various routes that will take you around and across town.
We will have two small bottles of wine awaiting your arrival as well as a discounted pass for two for wine tasting at a local winery. Coffee and tea are stocked in the cupboard as well for your enjoyment. When the fruit trees are in season you are more than welcome to pick as many lemons, oranges, and loquats as your heart desires.

This place was perfect for our little girls weekend. Two friends and I came down to SLO for the weekend and this little bungalow was perfect for us. The place was clean and had everything we needed, plus a small bottle of wine :)
Thank you Stefany- we would definitely stay here again.
Great location. We came by train, and the place was only 2 blocks from Amtrak. (The Airbnb map has it wrong.) Loved SLO with its interesting architecture. We made great use of the provided photo book. Liked the apartment.
Now, the synthetic sheets on the bed weren't pleasant. We would have liked bedside reading lamps, and maybe a dimmer on a light for eating in the kitchen. Keurigs are OK, I guess, but we found no decaf cups. The garage door was noisy, but not used much. The bicycle was too small for me to use without tools to readjust handlebar height.
Great walking location. The owners were pleasant, and left us alone. We would stay here again.
Great location, next to downtown.
What was your experience with your host? Was the listing what you expected? What was their neighborhood like?
We enjoyed our week in SLO, and found this guest house to be comfortable and perfectly suited to our preference for quarters allowing independence and privacy while travelling. The location is ideal for walking everywhere. The host was responsive. We also appreciated the robust wifi and the availability of a bike. We would be happy to stay here again.
The reservation was canceled 9 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This is the second time my wife and I have stayed here, and we loved it! We stayed an entire week in this little apartment and we never felt cramped. There is plenty of closet space and it has a separate living room where you can read and relax. The kitchen is big enough that you can easily do a weeks worth of cooking and has a good selection of pots, pans, utensils, silverware, etc. The location is perfect if you want to experience San Luis Obispo on foot. It's five blocks from downtown, but in a quiet neighborhood. San Luis Obispo itself is a perfect base if you want to explore California's Central Coast. We can't wait to come back!
We stayed in Stefany's lovely guest house for a week. The house is quiet and well appointed; we were very comfortable. I was happy at the chance to use a gas cooker again! It was super to have off-street parking. The house sits up in the tree tops and we enjoyed the opportunity to see some of the local bird-life, eat breakfast on the deck and sit in the sun--in November! It only takes 10 minutes to walk into downtown, there's a super coffee shop around the corner, other amenities are very close. Our hosts also provide bicycles for their guests. Stefany and family are the best of hosts, kind, friendly, helpful and very low-profile. I hope we can go back and stay the next time we go to SLO. Thank you Stefany, Miles and family!
The perfect place for a relaxing stay in SLO. Stefany and her family are wonderful hosts and extremely attentive to their guest's needs. The apartment is clean, cozy and right downtown. The bed is a dream to sleep in and the kitchen has everything you need. A great address!
Lovely and cozy retreat. Very quiet. Nicely appointed with everything needed (wine, coffee & bathroom amenities). :)
