A closer look at the living room. The balcony in the back fits 4 seated people comfortably.

P.S.: If you wish we would be more than happy to arrange a trusted Taxi to pick you up from the Airport, to avoid the hassle of fighting for your own.
P.P.S: As with all areas in Beirut, the electricity cuts for 3 hours per day. We solved the problem in the apartment, so the only problem will be the elevator.
Khodor was the nicest and most accommodating host i have ever had. He helped me by watching over our bags prior to our check in time and was more than eager to offer any help / recommendations. Cheddar let me stay as much as i needed my last day, my flight was at 24:00 pm and didn't mind late check out.
The room was just as described and very clean and very big ,i had my own entrance and share a big ,clean bathroom. and The neighborhood is very good too , first i meet one paintiest ,and then i meet two local people ,they all friendly because Amer and Khodor only let kind people stayed at their house, so it is very safe .
i definitely want to stay with AMER and Khodor again next time when i was in beirut or my friends go there .i can't recommand more.
It's very beautiful and big appartement full of family memory, a little abandoned with dust on furniture and dead plants on the terrace.
but the floor is clean, the bedroom and the bed are very good and it' vey quiet during the night.There's always cold and hotwater and electricity;
The district is ok, 10 minutes of French embassy, 20 from th National Museum. The food shops are very close and the sailors are very nice.
But the problem is : nobody is present for your arrival. You must ask the key to the guard of the building. And, ther isn't even a notice to explain the way of functionning : wifi code, no-drinking water, how to use electricity, how to use kitchen..
Amer is a goog guy but he' never at home, except very late
Thank you for leaving this Review Fabienne. The point you made about the Balcony and the guide are very good. We have now started replanting the Balcony, and are working on a guide for our guests that should answer all and any questions when they arrive. We are open to any feedback or tips in that regard :) Our official check in is at 5 p.m. and we make a great effort to be there to welcome our guests into the apartment. Khodor works as a DJ at midnight on Saturday, and so it would have been impossible for him to greet you at the door. Amer lives in Berlin as is written clearly on the website ... About the cleanliness: We really encourage all our future guests to give us IMMEDIATE feedback about this, so it can be addressed during their stay, and make it more enjoyable :)
The room is quite good for a non-picky person. Overall impression is ok but I expected much better experience for the price in a non-central area of Beirut. With my current knowledge I would better find some place closer to the city downtown for the same money, near many touristic attractions like cafes, shops etc... where Arabic language is not the only option. Also it is not the best option when you visit Lebanon for the first time.
At the same time this listing is quite popular among tourists, it is around 25 minutes walking from the city downtown and Khodor is a good welcoming host. Also there is a creative atmosphere in the apartment :) So this might be the best option for you if you are aware of the city, the country and this is not your first visit to Lebanon.
Hey Misha, thank you for your leaving such an honest and helpful review. Most of it is true, and we are very up front about it. :) The neighbourhood does not have a single bar or cafe on it, which is true for most residential streets in Beirut. But the apartment is only a 10-20 minute ride away from any tourist crazed destination in the city. What is not true, is that you will NOT find another similar room with the same price and facilities in Downtown/Hamra/Gemayze, a simple search on Airbnb or the internet will prove this. If we missed something, please let us know and we will be happy to match it :)
This one week was really a great experience. I really recommend this place. Quite easy to get to Gemmayze, Sodecco or the national museum. Khodor's hospitality is one of kind.
Hope you will choose Amer and Khodor place if you want to visit Beyrouth.
A lovely, relaxed atmosphere and the perfect hosts. I had trouble with my airline losing my luggage and all sorts and Khodor was immensely helpful. Lovely, huge room with air conditioning.
Amer and Khodor have a great place to stay in Beirut. Highly recommended. Both Amer and Khodor are very helpful and quick to respond via email and will help you with anything you need (directions, taxis to and from airport, advice not he city) The apartment is large and really comfortable, he a has a nice lived in feeling with a lot of history in the place. It also has the benefit of being equidistant from nearly everywhere (Hamra, Gemmayze, Mar Mikael etc) and the neighborhood itself is a great place to explore and see a more regular neighborhood than the aforementioned party zone ones. Everything worked well when I was there, hot water, elec, A/C wifi etc. Highly recommended.
The location is very easy to get to from the airport. The part of town is not touristy at all and has a unique charm. The apartment is nice and the AC works great. Khodor is friendly and, like much of Beirut, is quite the night owl.

I (Amer) work at Meltwater Group in Berlin as a Junior Support Engineer. I'm based in Berlin, but travel often to Sao Paolo, in Brazil, and Beirut in Lebanon, where I was born and raised.
I'm studying Computer Science at the Distance University in Hagen, and previously dabbled in Physics and Engineering. I love knowledge, and am addicted to (website hidden) videos and events.
I'm looking for all kinds of interesting and relaxed people to host for me and my friend Khodor to host in Beirut!
Unless I am also in Beirut, your host will be Khodor. Khodor is a lot of things: Musician, Painter, Writer, Blogger, Actor, Thinker, Maker and Breaker, and for you he will also be a great host. You should check out the cinemoz blog (In Arabic), and his band the Beirut Scum Society.
I speak German/English/Arabic
Khodor speaks English/Arabic and some German as well ;)
