P.S.: If you wish we would be more than happy to arrange a trusted Taxi to pick you up from the Airport, to avoid the hassle of fighting for your own.
P.P.S: As with all areas in Beirut, the electricity cuts for 3 hours per day. We solved the problem in the apartment, so the only problem will be the elevator.
The dining-room area from the point of view of the living-room. A great place to eat or work or host big gatherings.
The appartement is an originally decorated space, very artsy. The neighborhood is pretty calm, and very accessible to other neighborhoods by service taxis.
Both Amer (digitally) and Khodor (in person) were very helpful and welcoming. They booked a cab for me when I arrived at the airport, that was pretty convenient ! As I already knew Beirut, I didn't need much more from them even if they suggested helpful things.
I can think of only 2 little problems (which are not the hosts fault in my opinion). There is construction work going on in the building, that can be a little annoying. And, the appartement is pretty cold during winter time ; a great place to be in spring or summer I think ! For that last problem, there was a heater, so it was ok.
Generally speaking, I enjoyed my stay at Amer and Khodor's and recommend it for others !
A very quiet place, khodor hosting is very nice and cool. he arranged a taxi to pick us from the airport. The place is a strategic one in Beirut as all attraction is very near, it's all about 10 minuets to be in any destination in Beirut like: "Hamra, Achrefya, Downtown, Gemmayze and etc.". The facilities is very nice as the hot water is always available and backup power source to overcome Beirut's problems in power and water. The Wi-Fi was not bad.
You will feel and live the local experience of Lebanese life in the neighborhood, also it is vey safe.
Khodor is very helpful and very nice as offering information that will you need and is accessible by phone at anytime.
If i will go to Beirut again it will be at khodor's plcae.
Had great time in Beirut, and the experience to stay over at Amer & Khodor's definitely contributed a big part to it. Nice location, quiet and safe neighbourhood. I would recommend to anyone who want to visit Beirut and get to know more about the local lifestyle. Khodor is super friendly and flexible, it was such a pleasure to talk to him. Of course thank you very much for arranging the transportation to come and go...I would for sure come to visit again!
The place is amazing. I stayed there for several months and then back again for a couple of weeks. Highly recommended if you want to be close to main attractions but not live in them. Downtown and Hamra about 10 min away with car or bus. Also the best place in Beirut in terms of water availability. There is always running water at Amer's place unlike many other places in Beirut like Hamra & Achrefeye, etc. And of course the best part of the stay is Khodor, the host, who is super helpful and interesting and available most of the time to help.
My home away from home in Beirut. From late mornings sleeping in quietly to long afternoons reading & relaxing in the living room to fun evenings around Beirut, I had the most lovely time in Khodor's apartment and I really look forward to coming back soon.
Nice place, Nice location - everything was easy going and we can recommend this place
Very friendly group. I enjoyed the space. Very Arabic area which I enjoyed, but might throw off timid first timers who only speak English or french. The hosts are fluent in all, but the neighborhood doesn't. Close walk to cola station, and quick access to minibuses to gemmeyzeh (sp.) at 1,000LBP. Couldn't have asked for more.

About the Host, Amer & Khodor
I (Amer) work at Meltwater Group in Berlin as a Junior Support Engineer. I'm based in Berlin, but travel often to Sao Paolo, in Brazil, and Beirut in Lebanon, where I was born and raised.
I'm studying Computer Science at the Distance University in Hagen, and previously dabbled in Physics and Engineering. I love knowledge, and am addicted to (website hidden) videos and events.
I'm looking for all kinds of interesting and relaxed people to host for me and my friend Khodor to host in Beirut!
Unless I am also in Beirut, your host will be Khodor. Khodor is a lot of things: Musician, Painter, Writer, Blogger, Actor, Thinker, Maker and Breaker, and for you he will also be a great host. You should check out the cinemoz blog (In Arabic), and his band the Beirut Scum Society.
I speak German/English/Arabic
Khodor speaks English/Arabic and some German as well ;)
