P.S.: If you wish we would be more than happy to arrange a trusted Taxi to pick you up from the Airport, to avoid the hassle of fighting for your own.

  • Nice place, Nice location - everything was easy going and we can recommend this place

    April 2014
  • Very friendly group. I enjoyed the space. Very Arabic area which I enjoyed, but might throw off timid first timers who only speak English or french. The hosts are fluent in all, but the neighborhood doesn't. Close walk to cola station, and quick access to minibuses to gemmeyzeh (sp.) at 1,000LBP. Couldn't have asked for more.

    February 2014
  • The room is big and has a very comfortable bed! And the location is also very good.

  • Nicely located, cosy and nicely decorated apartment. The both of hosts, Amer and Rami, were extremely friendly and helpful. I can only give the best recommendations to the place and the guys who own it.

    January 2014
  • I was happy to have chosen Amer & Rami Hamzeh & Sabbagh. Perfect for my purpose, which was a creative/radio project with Syrian refugees in Beirut and the Bekaa. It was a pleasure to meet Rami who has a film background like me and is running cool and inspiring new place downtown called Dawawine. Anyone interested in culture should go there. To relax, for a beer, or a surprising film or exhibition. The apartment is large in a quiet district I learned to appreciate very much. You will find no trendy cappuccino bars here, but the usual day to day shops you go to when you are a Beiruti. There is a very nice little bakery just round the corner making delicious manakish zaatar, I took for breakfast every day. Once you find your way with the 'servees'(taxi's) the trendy places are not far away. It was cold in January when I was there, we had to share a heater at times because some did not work, just a detail. Amer (in Berlin) and Rami are very authentic and truly interesting and generous hosts. Thank you guys!

  • Rami was really great host. He was very helpful in with learning the confusing Beirut city life, and very nice in general.
The place is very comfortable. Spacious room, and the bed is really nice. It's a much more quite area of Beirut which helps a lot when trying to sleep.

All around great spot, and much better than the hostels.

(Though you may still want to go to the seifi hostel for food it has great cafe at the bottom)

  • Great flat, and a lovely big room with desk. I hardly saw Rami but he came to pick me up when I arrived which was lovely of him (and a lot of effort for him too as the traffic was really heavy). But the brief chats I did have with him were great - he's a really interesting guy with great music taste!

  • I had a short but wonderful stay in Beirut. The AC room was very comfortable and clean, and so was the flat, with a nice balcony and yummy breakfast opportunities just in front of the housedoor :D. Rami has been a very great host, very kind, hospitable and helpful with everything and so was Amer; although i havent met him but through conversations before booking he kindly replied to every question within a short time and was very helpful too. I recommend the bright and comfy AC room to everyone who considers to visit Beirut!! :D

I (Amer) work at Meltwater Group in Berlin as a Junior Support Engineer. I'm based in Berlin, but travel often to Sao Paolo, in Brazil, and Beirut in Lebanon, where I was born and raised. I'm studying Computer Science at the Distance University in Hagen, and previously dabbled in Physics and Engineering. I love knowledge, and am addicted to (website hidden) videos and events. I'm looking for all kinds of interesting and relaxed people to host for me and my friend Rami to host in Beirut! Unless I am also in Beirut, your host will be Khodor. Khodor is a lot of things: Musician, Painter, Writer, Blogger, Actor, Thinker, Maker and Breaker, and for you he will also be a great host. You should check our the cinemoz blog (In Arabic), and his bank the Beirut Scum Society. I speak German/English/Arabic Khodor speaks English/Arabic and some German as well ;)
