  • My husband and I enjoyed our time at Iris and Mark's home. The bed and bathroom were exquisitely clean and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. They were wonderful hosts providing breakfast, coffee and interesting conversation. I would definitely stay with them again.

  • Our first experience on Airbnb was at Iris & Mark's, and we could not have had a warmer introduction! Their guest room was cozy and beautifully clean--the queen bed was high quality--and the room had special touches all around. (The luggage holder in the closet was a nice touch, as were the chocolates!) The bedroom/bathroom setup was private, yet the common space was utterly comfortable when Iris & Mark were home. In fact, we all greatly enjoyed chatting on their peaceful screened porch surrounded by trees. They are good conversationalists who put us completely at ease. Before we arrived, they asked what we typically eat for breakfast, and they incorporated these things (yogurt, juice, oatmeal) into their continental spread, which was quite lovely. We'd stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks, Iris and Mark!

Thanks so much Suzi for a lovely review. We very much enjoyed meeting you both and the picture you sent from Sunny Point made us smile! I hope the 50th Anniversary Celebration was much fun! Come and stay with us any time!

  • This was the third time we stayed with Iris and Mark--their beautiful home is beginning to feel like our home away from home. The room is so comfortable, and they provide lovely amenities like ice, two kinds of water, little chocolates, and very nice soaps and shampoos in the bathroom, along with lots of towels. They always have nice things to eat in the kitchen, and my husband and I appreciate not having to eat out for every meal. It's very quite and there is good wifi connection. We love staying here!

  • Our stay with Iris and Mark was absolutely delightful. The room was comfortable, beautiful, and meticulously clean, and the bathroom is in the same guest wing of the house, so we had privacy whenever we desired. Iris and Mark are also warm and lively conversationalists, and they gave us great suggestions about how to enjoy our stay in Bloomington to the fullest. They were considerate of our dietary restrictions and they made us feel like welcome guests and even old friends. I can't recommend Iris and Mark's place highly enough, and hope to stay there again soon!

  • This was our very first experience with Airbnb. I have to say that the bar has been set very high for all subsequent bookings through Airbnb! We couldn't have asked for a more positive experience. Iris and Mark have a beautiful home and they were very gracious hosts! This couple thought of absolutely everything to make our stay just perfect.

We were in Bloomington for our son in law's graduation. We were greeted with fresh flowers and a congratulatory helium balloon. The bed was very comfortable and beautifully made. The bedroom and bathroom were absolutely spotless. There were two bottles of water waiting for us after a long travelling day. There was a bottle of Lavender spray to freshen up the sheets, along with several trial size bottles of hand lotion etc. The bathroom was well equipped with several sets of towels, toothpaste, dental floss, shampoo and conditioner. There was a hair blow dryer available for our use. The towels were laundered after the second day.

We always came home to a little note from Iris and Mark. One night they had a bottle of wine chilling for us in our room. I left a note thanking them for their thoughtfulness and explained that we did not drink alcohol. To our surprise, the next evening, we had two cans of sparkling soda chilling for us instead. The personal touches that accompanied our visit were much appreciated.

We stayed at this beautiful home for 5 nights. We were invited to use the laundry facilities should we have needed to. There were many options for breakfast, everything from bagels, protein bars, yogurt and even an invitation to make ourselves eggs and toast! I honestly can't think of a single thing that would have made our stay more enjoyable or more comfortable. This home truly is a "little gem in Bloomington." Iris and Mark are one in a million!

  • I had a wonderful experience staying with Iris & Mark! They were extremely helpful, providing me great directions and suggestions. Their house is warm and inviting and they made me feel really comfortable. It was my first visit to Bloomington and staying at the little gem made the entire trip!

  • Iris and Mark were fantastic! They were super flexible to our late night arrivals and odd hours we kept. They made us feel at home and had some great breakfast for us. I feel bad we didn't spend more time getting to know them. Best place to stay in Bloomington!

  • A radiant gem you will find in the home of Iris and Mark! The personal touches they had prepared and provided before I even arrived goes to show how generous these hosts are to their guests. A little post-it note on the armoire door ("Feel free to use"), notes here and notes there, wi-fi instructions taped to a shelving unit - I like notes!

The guest room itself spells like clean lavender, and there was a small spritzer of lavender linen spray beside the bed that kept the mood nice and relaxing. Most impressive to me, besides having effortless entry into the home, was the interesting collection of classical books varying in genre which inspired my writing project!

The immaculately clean space beautifully complemented the tasteful earth-toned decor with nautical themed framed art and lively botanical foliage.

Things I especially appreciated and did not expect: a surge protector with six 3-pronged outlets, ample electric sockets, mouthwash sampler, toothpaste sampler, little paper cups in bathroom, shampoo and conditioner by Philosophy, various sized towels, an optional bath mat, extra pillows, a space heater in the room for cold nights, bottled water that I poured in provided cobalt blue and clear crinkly textured square glasses, a sturdy wicker loveseat for tying my shoes and resting, a box of Kleenex, enough shelves to hold my entire contents from my suitcase, a luggage rack in the closet, a wardrobe 5-rack over the door, plenty of lights, rugs, a trash bin nearby and out of sight, and breakfast foods in the morning! And did I mention the lamp by the bed is shaped like the Eiffel Tower? Merci beaucoup!

Located on the outskirts of Bloomington near Ellettsville about a 2-5 minute drive to restaurants, pharmacy, grocery, and more. The house is on the end of a cul-de-sac and guest room and bath are at secluded end of house for maximum peace and quiet.

    Definitely recommend!

  • This place was exactly what we needed. After spending 2 nights in a hotel, the warm and welcoming home of Iris and Mark was greatly appreciated. Although we did not have much time to get to know our hosts we could quickly gather by their decor that we would love them. They went out of their way to make sure we had bottled water, chocolate, a healthy breakfast and even gave April flowers for her birthday. If you are in Bloomington, IN you totally need to stay here!

Thank you Iris and Mark...we hope to come and stay with you again in the future!
