Interaction with Guests
I try to be available when you need me, and invisible when you don't.
I'm happy to give recommendations for places to visit and local restaurants. You'll get detailed directions prior to your trip, and you can check in and check out by yourself so you won't need to wait for me.
Living spaces in Hong Kong are compact, so get out and explore the bustling area.
Causeway Bay and Wanchai are the heart of Hong Kong's consumer culture. Every square inch is filled with shopping malls, department stores, boutiques, market stalls, hole in the wall cafés, international restaurants and banquet halls.
Within walking distance of the apartment, you'll find almost every type of cuisine on the planet as well as the HK must try's: dim sum, roast meats, noodles and congee, cha chan teng (a unique fusion of Chinese/Western food), and snacks and desserts.
If shopping is your thing, you'll find the whole range: From bargains and nicknacks at the Jardine's Crescent street market and Spring Garden Lane, to affordable youth fashion boutiques in Island Beverly Centre, to the tech heaven of the Wanchai Computer Centre, to mid-priced and luxury goods in SOGO and Hysan Place, to the up market fashions found in Lee Gardens, Times Square and Fashion Walk.
You are also right next to Happy Valley, where you can enjoy a beer and watch a horse race on most Wednesdays.
Terrific beaches, museums, galleries and sights are all easily accessible. Hong Kong's best kept secret is the wonderful hiking and nature just minutes from the city. There are a couple hikes that you can start from the apartment.
It couldn't be easier to get to the apartment from the airport. The A11 bus picks you up at the airport and drops you off just downstairs from the apartment, and gives you great views of the city as you come into town. You can also get to the apartment by Airport Express (high speed train) and taxi.
The apartment is less than 100m from Causeway Bay MTR station (our subway system) and is serviced by Hong Kong's classic tramways and many bus lines. The famous Star Ferry is also just a short walk away.
Here are some distances to common places:
-- MTR Station Causeway Bay Exit C is just a 2 min walk

Another easy-breezy stay at one of Alex's cozy little apartments. (This is the third one we've booked.) The location can't be beat; the entrance to the Causeway Bay metro station is literally 1 minute away. The shoebox-sized apartment may take some getting used to, but it makes a great base for anyone who'll be doing a lot of city explorations. The shower stays hot and well-pressured, the bed is comfortable, and the A/C works well. The kitchen is minimally equipped and best for breakfasts only, though the free wine, spirits, beers, and sodas are a very generous touch! There isn't much natural light but you'll sleep like a baby in the quiet darkness. (And yes, in the middle of busy, noisy Causeway Bay, you can steal a moment of peace and quiet.)
The room was basic, but had everything we need. Comfortable size for 2. The best part was the location, which is a very easy walk from Causeway Bay MTR.
We didn't get to meet Alex, but he gave detailed instructions on how to access the room and was always contactable when we had questions. Thanks for a pleasant stay!
Alex was the best airbnb host! He gave such thorough directions and instructions on the place and always replied right away. The neighbourhood was awesome because causeway bay was close to everything and the place was nice and quiet. I do think that it is a little small for 4 people (we had 3 guys and 1 girl) but otherwise it was neat, clean, and around the MTR stations :)
The place is nice and clean as described, and the location is really good, just waking distance to Time Square. You can find whatever you need nearby. Although I didn't meet Alex in person, but he was still very helpful and sent me very detailed instructions to make sure I can find the apt. I will definitely consider the place again when visiting Hong Kong next time. :)
The apartment was very small, but it more than made up for its size with the proximity to the MTR, trams, buses, food. Although the studio was small, it had everything you could need - even a washing machine. Security was excellent.
Alex did not meet us himself but left detailed instructions by email on how to get there, how to retrieve keys from and general instructions on how things worked in the apartment. He responded to my queries via SMS. He even left us free drinks in the fridge.
Overall, it was a positive experience and I would recommend his studio for a few nights' stay in HK.
Great Neighboorhood extremly close to Times Square!! Alex made me feel very welcome with constant information when i needed it!! Would stay again!

About the Host, Alex
I'm from North Carolina, but I've lived in Hong Kong for 11 years.
I love living in and travelling across Asia. You'll usually see me with camera in hand trying to blend in with the local culture, which is difficult for a tall white guy.
But, whether I'm treking across a desert or window shopping on high streets, I always love to meet other like minded free spirits.
My wife and I have really enjoyed preparing our place to be ready for guests. We hope you enjoy it. Please let me know if there is anything special I can prepare for your trip. :-)
As a host, I'll try my best to point out the colorful local scene, and as a guest, I'll I try to leave nothing but good memories.
