Best location in Berkeley! Private bedroom available in our house in the Elmwood district of Berkeley. Full bed with featherbed and quality linens, sitting area, desk, and wireless internet. The rental includes the use of a rooftop deck. The comfortable living room has a piano and a gas fireplace for chilly evenings. The shared bathroom includes a tub and shower. The rent includes daily continental breakfast.
You can manage easily here without a car. Our house is one block from College Avenue with a movie theater, post office, and many shops and restaurants. The busy #51 bus stops one block away, which can take you to the university or to the Rockridge BART. It is a 15 minute walk to the Bancroft entrance of UC.
We have lived in Berkeley for many years, and love sharing ideas about things to do in the bay area. We have one very friendly dog and one curious cat. Quiet non smokers only. Bed linens and towels provided. Off-street parking available for an additional $5/day.
Emily and Eric are amazing, warm, fun, accommodating and interesting; and are the kind of people I would probably already be friends with had I not been fortunate to have met them through Airbnb. Their home is wonderful and comfortable and boasts the best coffee and scones in all of California. If only ten stars were an option.
I loved staying at Emily's and Eric's place! The location is perfect: the house is located in a quite neighborhood with beautiful old homes close to UCB campus (10-15 minute walk) and Downtown Berkeley and just about 2 minutes from the nice restaurants, bars and shops on College Av. Emily and Eric were wonderful hosts - very friendly and welcoming, considerate and helpful! Emily provided breakfast and coffee/tea in the mornings and I absolutely enjoyed having dinner with their family at one evening. My room was just like on the Airbnb pictures with a very comfy bed. I totally recommend this place to anyone coming to Berkeley and would stay there again myself anytime when I have the chance to do so!
Ι stayed at Emily's and Eric's house for about four months. The room is beautiful, as is the entire house. Elmwood has now become my favorite neighborhood on the planet: many good restaurants and coffee shops around, a pleasant and safe 1 mile walk from UC Berkeley, BART in walking distance, and several bus connections.
Emily and Eric are warm and welcoming people. They offered dinner and drinks to me on several occasions. I enjoyed the conversations we had over dinner, but also the food: Emily is an excellent cook!
I also got to meet their children. They are a great family with many talents, notably in music!
Ι also made two new animal friends, Laya the dog, and Ralphie the cat! They are both extremely cute and friendly.
Ι was sad to leave when my stay was over. But now I know where to return when life brings me back to Berkeley :)
The location was great. Emily and her family are hospitable, helpful and an interesting bunch. Look forward to a clean room, private patio, and maybe even some fresh-made jam if you are lucky ;)
I spent a few pleasant days at Emily and Eric´s house. Even i couldn´t stayed much time at the house because of the demanding schedule of the trip, when i got back I really felt at home. The property´s location is excellent, very well connected, and the house is nice and cozy. I highly recommend staying at Emily and Eric´s, they are friendly and respectful people, also make you feel like family. By the way, happy birthday to Eric, I could not stay for your party.
Emily's place is in a wonderful part of Berkeley, filled with trees, nice gardens and stores right by. Emily was great about communicating and very friendly-- even offered me coffee in the morning!
Had a very good stay for three nights. The location is great - near the Claremont hotel, Berkeley campus, and amenities. Emily and family are very friendly. The other reviews capture the experience fairly accurately.

I live in Berkeley, CA, and work as a teacher in Oakland. I have three kids who are growing up and moving out, giving me and my husband a little more free time. When I travel I am more interested in talking to people and seeing what life is like rather than just seeing sights. Here in Berkeley I love to share ideas about places to go and things to do.
