Beautiful spot near Amed and Jemeluk beach. Quiet, private rooms with a great porch. Kind hosts who went out of their way to help and communicate. We had a great time!

My boyfriend and I traveled to Bali for 12 days. During our trip, we stayed in 6 different Airbnb's. Ketut's place, Arung Ary Homestay, was not only the worst of the 6, but it was the worst experience either of us had ever had with an Airbnb. Upon booking our stay with Ketut, we sent him a message to let him know we would be planning on staying on the Gili Islands on the 23rd. We were booked to stay at Ketut's home May 23-25, and wanted to keep our large suitcases on the mainland, rather than try to transport them on a boat to the islands. We thought booking an extra night on the coast would be our best bet, and allow us to return to Amed our second day and spend the whole day snorkeling! Ketut said no problem, he would be happy to help us book tickets to take the boat there! We contacted Ketut a few days before our stay to try to arrange a driver to pick us up from Ubud and transport us to Arung Ary, located in Abang. Ketut replied that would be no problem and had a friend who could drive us. We asked for a driver to pick us up at 11 AM. Ketut's listing said that the home was only 2 hours from the airport. We were staying in Ubud, which was a little over a half hour from the airport, but on the way to Abang. We expected the drive from Ubud to Abang to take 1.5 hours, and mapquested it to confirm that it should take 1.5 hours. The driver arrived at our home in Ubud at 9:40 AM, according to the home's staff. We were returning from an excursion and got back at 10:30 AM to eat a quick lunch, and found the driver sleeping in his vehicle. We quickly brought our things downstairs, skipped lunch, and were packed up and driving by 10:45 AM, 15 minutes earlier than we had requested for. Yet, the driver still seemed very upset with us that he had been waiting. We confirmed that he had been sent to pick us up at 11, and he said yes, however told us we should have been there and ready earlier just in case. We felt uncomfortable immediately. He then informed us the drive to Abang was 3.5-4 hours. We had expected it to be 1.5 hours, at most 2 hours. We asked why it took so long, and he told us it was traffic and we were wrong to think it would only take 2 hours. He drove very angrily and aggressively the entire way, which was terrifying when we were driving through large hills/mountains. He nearly took out 2 scooter drivers at one point as well. We had no phone service and no way to find another driver, so we had no choice but to remain in the vehicle. We finally stopped for gas 3 hours in, and my boyfriend was...

We loved our stay with Ketut and his family. Definitely one of our favorites while traveling around Bali. Very clean, super friendly, amazing food, and accommodating. Ketut arranged us with an amazing driver to pick us up from the airport, whom we used 3 more times while in Bali, and he arranged for us to go snorkeling. Would love to come back and visit!

It was nice to stay at Warung Ary, rooms and staff are quite nice and are helpful when you need something. It is best to have a scooter or driver if you want to explore because only things in walking distance are some restaurants and many other homestays. Well located otherwise for diving and water activities.

Ketut was a great host! He arranged for my pick up from my first airbnb location. He also arranged my driver for sight-seeing of temples and nature. He was speedy with communication before my arrival as well. The room had a beautiful view and it was quiet and relaxing. The water is very close, but the beach is rocky, so renting a scooter would be ideal for getting to soft sand beaches. The food at the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. The location is very beautiful and I would stay here again. Thanks, Ketut!
