The space
Three-stars registered Gîte de France in the hearthland of the famous Pic Saint-Loup vineyards. The estate is located at Rouet in department de l’Hérault, between Montpellier (35 mn drive) and the Cevennes mountains, listed as a Site of Natural Beauty by the UN Cultural Organisation. It is within easy reach of the seaside (45 minutes’drive) and the valley of river Hérault (10 minutes’drive). Seen from our waterfall wimming-pool or th terrace roofs & private gardens, the panorama is breathtaking: 720 hectares of natural landscape, protected for its unique diversity of wildlife, animals, flowers and birds.
Being the only lived-in site within a protected area of 720 hectares (ZNIEFF) surrounded by Natura 2000, the estate borders local river Lamalou in an environment of rich variety in plants, flowers, birds and wild animal species .
A perfect resting place to easy in relaxation in the fragrances of the near Cevennes where hikers can make the best of their walks by picking mushrooms on their way.
Perfect quiet guaranteed at night & in evenings, the protection of old stone walls inviting to summer afternoon naps. Unmistakable autumn and springtime natural scents of trees and flowers.
The ideal place for a health-resourcing break. Our rooms are wide and lime-plastered in the traditional way and the four seasons express the variety of botzanic fragrances between the Cevennes and the north of Hérault.

During your stay
We will invite and advise you to find out about local products as well as about the natural and cultural heritage of the region, the local fauna & flora and historic monuments.
A wide range of activities are also quickly accessible from the gîtes; a 5 to 20 minutes' drive will get you to the horse (and poney)-riding center, or to places where you can practise gliding & hang-gliding, cliff climbing, speleology, kayak & canooing, tree climbing, or simply go on a walk or cycle around a splendid tract of landscape.
If you chance to go further, then you may discover route des Vins de l' Hérault and learn about the production of local olive oil and honey. Cycle or hike up and down the roadsand walkways of the Cévennes, where you will visit the workshops of craftsmen making ceramics, pottery, barrels, glass and metal objects. And on your way, stop at historic sites and buildings of interest.
