We always enjoy meeting and talking with our guests while at the same time respecting their time, privacy, and space.
We live in the downstairs part of the house and therefore are a door knock or phone call away from assisting you in any way we can or answering your questions.
We live in the older part of the city, just northeast of downtown with houses built in the late 1800s to early 1900s. The streets are tree-lined and quiet, with friendly, animal-loving neighbors. We love living here and appreciate the locally owned businesses and parks threaded throughout the neighborhoods. We wouldn't live anywhere else!
There is a bus system in downtown Colorado Springs with bus stops within a block of the house.

Friendly pets are welcome.
This was our first airbnb experience and it was AWESOME! Great private location in nice neighborhood. Bill and Julie communicated with us ahead of time with excellent directions and information that was very helpful. When we walked in, we were amazed at how nice Buck's Hideaway was! Great sunny kitchen with tasty breakfast foods provided! I will definitely be back to Buck's if I go to Colorado Springs again. Thank you Bill and Julie!
The apartment was perfect. So many thoughtful details that made us feel welcome. Thank you!
Bill & Julie's place is incredible. Pictures don't do it justice. I wanted to write this review the minute I walked in the door. More importantly Bill & Julie are absolutely wonderful. The nicely stocked fridge and ample snacks were a nice touch... eggs, muffins, apples, water, tea, Clif bars, gold fish, etc. The awesome treat was the fresh baked brownies Julie left on the counter. Five stars doesn't do the place or the hosts justice.
Buck's Hideaway is an amazing place! Beautiful views, great porch, nice neighborhood, right by a hike and bike trail that goes forever. Julie is a great host. She happily met our dietary restrictions with special treats, snacks, breakfast, and more. We felt very at home here.
What a lovely little suite, close to downtown but in a quiet neighborhood, decorated with antiques and Old West collectables. We were thrilled with the small touches, like the bottle of wine and chocolates waiting for us in the kitchen, the supply of info brochures and maps on the writing desk, and the stack of books about Colorado history on the coffee table. Best of all, the hosts are friendly and caring -- which we discovered when I injured my back and they visited to offer heating pads and commiseration. We will definitely be returning to Buck's Hideaway whenever we can.
Bill and Julie are perfect hosts. Buck's hideaway is charming; it is the ideal place to explore Colorado Springs and it's beautiful surroundings from.
This was our first stay in an airbnb location. We could not have wished for a better experience. Bill and Julie made us feel at home and went the extra mile in ensuring that we had a great time in Colorado Springs.
Thoughtful small touches, ranging from a jar of dog biscuits to fresh pastries on our arrival, made us feel very welcome. A cosy property that was perfect for our little family.
We hope to visit again in the near future. We will recommend Bill and Julie without any hesitation to our friends and family visiting Colorado.
My sister and I stayed at Buck's Hideaway for three weeks. We arrived a day early, and Bill and Julie had no problem with that. The apartment is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!!! and comfortable. A variety of snacks were stocked, along with basics like butter and milk and eggs. The special treat from the local Dutch Bakery was especially welcome.
The Hideaway is located on a quiet residential street that is convenient to old downtown and I-25. There is a park at the end of the block where we walked our dogs every day (and Bill and Julie welcomed the dogs warmly as well.)
We (dogs too) were gone about 12 hours per day, so we didn't see our hosts too often. But they always answered our texts promptly when we had a question and were very helpful, including providing a humidifier when we mentioned the air in the apt. was quite dry.
The photos are very accurate. The apt is not big but it was perfect for us. The kitchen is bright and roomy with dishes, pots and pans, even a crock pot. The bed is very comfortable, and the airbed provided was also comfortable and convenient.
If I ever travel this way again I will be sure to stay with Bill and Julie, two of the kindest, most accomodating and fun people you could hope to stay with. Julie's baked treats were very welcome too!
Snowstorms delayed our departure and our hosts welcomed us for a few more days. All in all, a terrific travel experience.
About the Host, Bill And Julie
Bill grew up on a dairy farm in the plains of Colorado. Julie has lived all over the country, last living in Illinois. Buck the Bull grew up in rural MN. We like to travel in the mountains, walk around historic neighborhoods, read, garden, and try new local eateries and breweries. We particularly like Ouray and Telluride, CO.
