Interaction with Guests

We always enjoy meeting and talking with our guests while at the same time respecting their time, privacy, and space.

The Neighborhood

We live in the older part of the city, just northeast of downtown with houses built in the late 1800s to early 1900s. The streets are tree-lined and quiet, with friendly, animal-loving neighbors. • Great place to stay!! Julie and Bill were terrific.

  • From the chalkboard welcome hanging next to the door and the chalkboard drawing in the kitchen and the fresh bread made by Julie, I felt completely welcomed. The Kitchen is spacious, clean, windows n three sides with one view of Pike's Peak! Wonderful place to sit and eat, read, journal. She completely blessed me with snacks, breakfast foods, and a great selection of teas. The rest of the apartment was just delightful, a good selection of books to help plan my adventures(and meals). I was particularly blessed to find a well used, loved, and with samples in the wildflower book! The neighbrohood quiet.

I found the location to be perfect for my explorations: 10-20 minutes to almost everything I wanted to see-Red Rock Canyon Open Space, Garden of the Gods, Historic Old Town, Cheyenne Mountain area.....

I would highly recommend staying with Bill and Julie. I am hoping to plan another trip soon!

  • I had a super pleasant stay. The hosts were quite personable and left nothing to be desired in an AirBnB experience. The kitchen was my favorite; pretty spacious and full of natural light. I couldn't have asked for a nicer atmosphere for my stay in CO Springs. Hope to visit again in the future:)

  • This was my first experience staying with airbnb hosts and i could not have been happier with my stay with Bill and Julie. Buck's hideaway is lovely, location is very good, even if without a car as i was, the walk into town is very nice and can be done in about 15-20 mins. The area is quiet, safe and attractive. Bill and Julie themselves are very sweet people, easy to communicate with before the stay, very welcoming and friendly and their attention to detail is very well thought out. The kitchen, including snacks and breakfast was fantastic and i slept very well. I would certainly stay again.

  • Great place to stay! Had a well stocked fridge, good coffee, and even pastries waiting for us when we got there! Cozy, beautiful kitchen with lovely windows! We would definitely stay here again!

  • This place was awesome! And even though we didn't get to meet our hosts the personal touches they added to the home were very much appreciated. The pictures don't match up to how wonderful the place actually is. And the location is right in the middle of everthing or a short drive away.

  • Julie & Bill are wonderful hosts! We have been using airbnb for the past year and have not been disappointed yet.

We found Buck's Place a home away from home. Julie & Bill were very gracious in hosting us and even left a a personal message for us upon our arrival on the exterior chalkboard on the porch. The upstairs, one-bedroom apt was perfect for our visit. We were able to host dinner for our daughter and her future husband several times from a well-stocked kitchen. This is a fun place to cook and all the necessities were readily available for great meals.

The accommodations were wonderful, the bed very restful, and the living room a great place to cuddle up with a book. Heating is controlled by Julie and Bill downstairs but there is a large space heater that provided plenty of extra warmth on the cold nights in the living room. The comforter was a great extra on the bed that provided plenty of warmth during the nights.

Julie and Bill stocked the fridge with eggs and butter, as well as OJ, coffee, and muffins. The fresh fruit was I nice touch. The kitchen is well stocked with seasonings for cooking, as well as plenty of cooking utensils.

We have a wedding coming up in May but need a bigger place for this event. We will tell our friends, though, who are looking for a place to stay for the wedding come May.

Buck's place is delightful and my daughter wants to rent the place once she is married - lol!

Wonderful hosts for a great stay during the Holidays! You rock, Julie & Bill!

  • We spent three days over Christmas at Buck's Hideaway, as we were visiting our son, his wife and our new grandson in Colorado Springs. We could not have asked for anything better than what we got from Bill and Julie. The place is tastefully decorated and was perfect for our stay. All the appliances and utensils were there for our cooking needs. Super nice place hosting by super nice folks. Thanks again for a great stay!!

  • We have monopolized Bill and Julie's wonderful Hideaway by staying four times in a row. Now it's time for us to let someone else enjoy their delightful place. Thank you, thank you!

  • My husband and I came for a 5 day visit and we extended it into a 4 week one. We appreciated the natural light, the quiet neighborhood, the friendliness, the cleanliness, the cat who came to call, the watercolors on the wall, and the overall cozy atmosphere. The sights in and around Colorado Springs are within easy reach. Thank you, Julie and Bill; you were extremely kind and accommodating. It's hard to keep from asking if we just couldn't move in permanently. Great place!

Bill grew up on a dairy farm in the plains of Colorado. Julie has lived all over the country, last living in Illinois. Buck the Bull grew up in rural MN. We like to travel in the mountains, walk around historic neighborhoods, read, garden, and try new local eateries and breweries. We particularly like Ouray and Telluride, CO.
