About This Listing
A garden apartment and an oasis in the heart of the bustling Haight Ashbury and the peaceful Golden Gate Park. This classic 1897 Victorian is my home above the apartment that has its own entrance.
The space is at garden level and is quite serene for city living. It has an uncluttered feel unlike subletting someone else's apartment. And the bonus is that it has a lovely garden view with a hot tub right outside your door surrounded by lush 100-year-old trees and new plantings with 2 frolicking kitties.
This quaint and cozy place is perfect for one or a couple who want to experience this vibrant and convenient SF location. A great hotel alternative for your fabulous San Francisco vacation, a romantic getaway, visiting friends or family, or the business traveler who want to feel like a local. Steps away from unique shopping and a wide variety of restaurants in the historic and colorful Haight Ashbury. Or take a pretty stroll to the tucked-away gem of Cole Valley for more dining and shopping for the discerning taste. Located at the gateway to the Golden Gate Park and a walkable distance to world-class museums and sites or just a great place to walk, run, bike or skate (rentals available nearby).
The place is centrally located with many main bus lines, trains, and frequented cabs to get you around. If you have a car, street parking is unrestricted and quite readily available for San Francisco standards.
A review of the Haight in one sentence, "It's eclectic and not for the faint at heart." Translation: This is not Pacific Heights...everyone from every walk of life is welcome here.
Truly a classic San Francisco experience!
The hot tub and garden are shared space, and it still feels private minus the cost of renting an island.
Interaction with Guests
If you have questions or need anything, I live upstairs. But you'll rarely see me because you have your own entrance. I definitely use the garden and hot tub though, so come say "hello" ...or draw your curtains ;)
Other Things to Note
I love when people stay longer (that way I do less laundry and stuff), so I give you 1 NIGHT FREE when you book 7 nights. Cheers!
Shhhhh. Quiet voices in the hot tub after 11pm.
Jacqui was very accommodating. Had a list if good restaurants and info on public transportation all ready for us. we had a ton of privacy being in a separate apartment that is attached to the house, but she was easily available if we needed anything. The apartment was very nice, clean, and it was great having a closet to unpack our stuff into instead of having to live out of a suitcase. Hot tub was also an added bonus. it was quiet in our apartment, couldn't really hear any stree traffic. Close enough to walk to a lot of locations, parks, restaurants, etc. Would definitely recommend starting here!
This is like walking into The Secret Garden. The apartment was clean, well stocked, I think Jacqui thought of everything one might need for a week's stay. This is a beautiful property just off Haight street and even though it's so close to all the fun and activity, it is very quiet back in the apartment. I know I will be back to stay when I visit my kids the next time.
Jacqui responded quickly to our request; she was in contact a day or two before our visit and she greeted us on our arrival. Her garden apartment is clean, comfortable, quiet, and convenient to transportation. Jacqui made sure we had a few basics (coffee, milk, tea) and answered our questions. The bed is comfortable; plenty of towels. There are two markets nearby; one is a Whole Foods. We recommend it fully and would stay there again.
Lovely quiet apartment, comfy bed, lots of space. We hope to return next time we visit.
We had a lovely stay at this place - great location right in the heart of Haight Ashbury but a very quiet apartment. Gorgeous garden, lovely and sunny in the afternoons, perfect for enjoying an aperitif! The apartment was fantastic, clean, plenty of towels etc. Would absolutely recommend it and certainly hope to stay there again.
Everything was lovely. Jacqui and I were in contact the day before my arrival and the day of check in. She gave us a quick tour of the place (which is very cozy, comfortable and clean) and even provided extra towels for the hot tub. She's prepared a folder that has maps of the area along with a list of local eateries she does and doesn't recommend (came in handy) as well as numbers for taxi services and information about public transportation. It was a very memorable weekend in a beautiful setting.
