A garden apartment and an oasis in the heart of the bustling Haight Ashbury and Golden Gate Park. This classic 1897 Victorian is my home above the apartment that has its own entrance. The place has new floors/countertops and has an uncluttered feel unlike subletting someone else's apartment. And the bonus is that it has a lovely garden view with a hot tub right outside your door surrounded by lush 100-year-old trees and new plantings with 2 frolicking kitties.
This quaint and cozy place is perfect for one or a couple who want to experience this vibrant and convenient SF location. A great hotel alternative for your fabulous San Francisco vacation, a romantic getaway, visiting friends or family, or the business traveler who want to feel like a local. Steps away from unique shopping and a wide variety of restaurants in the historic and colorful Haight Ashbury. Or take a pretty stroll to the tucked-away gem of Cole Valley for more dining and shopping for the discerning taste. Located at the gateway to the Golden Gate Park and a walkable distance to world-class museums and sites or just a great place to walk, run, bike or skate (rentals available nearby).
The place is centrally located with many main bus lines, trains, and frequented cabs to get you around. If you have a car, street parking is unrestricted and quite readily available for San Francisco standards.
A review of the Haight in one sentence, "It's eclectic and not for the faint at heart." Translation: This is not Pacific Heights...everyone from every walk of life is welcome here.
Truly a classic San Francisco experience!

We stayed 4 weeks in SF at Jacquis Garden Apartement and enjoyed our stay very much. It is clean and well maintained. Especially Jacquis hot tub ist HOT! It was allways the perfect end of our full packed days to relax in the hot tub while we were watching the stars. Erverything you need it very close. We started our days running or having a walk in the golden gate park, then had a coffee in Cole Street. (A very nice relaxed neighborhood). When we arrived Jacqui welcomed us with nice things for a good start in the morning. (Coffee, Bread, eggs, marmelade) and she even washed our towels and linens every week. Perfect service. Thank You!
Myself and my boyfriend spent a fantastic 10 days in Jaqui's garden flat just off Haight street in November. We had a brilliant experience, the apartment exceeded all of our expectations, it was charming and comfortable and soon felt like a home from home. As an added touch, Jaqui left us some crumpets and jam for our first breakfast in San Fran, which was really lovely!
The flat is perfectly located, right across the road there's a Goodwill store for bargain hunters, there's a gorgeous cafe called Stanza serving the best coffee I had in the city, Haight Street Market is just a stroll away if you want to pick up some groceries.
Apart from the excellent location, the flat also has access to the beautiful back garden, which has the singular bonus of having a hot tub.
We couldn't recommend this place highly enough!

We had a fabulous stay at Jacqui's place! It's private, peaceful and very comfortable.
Jacqui made us feel very welcome and provided everything we needed.
It was easy to find and in a great area for shopping, eating and sightseeing.
Typical basement suite, nothing special. I would not stay there again.
Just to reiterate, the apartment is at ground level off of the garden and definitely not basement. According to Miriam-Webster dictionary, basement is defined as the part of a building that is entirely or partly below the ground. The apartment may not be for everyone's taste, but what it does have is a semi-private garden with a hot tub in addition to a 1-bedroom suite with kitchen and bathroom. It is not the Hilton or a bed and breakfast inn that some foreign travelers have assumed by the 'bnb' in Airbnb. Best, Jacqui
The apartment was nicer than the photos. The neighborhood is interesting, the ghosts of hippies past still pervade. There are stores, restaurants and access to public transportation in easy walking distance. The hot tub was an extra bonus after a long day of sightseeing.
Jacqui was an excellent host. She left some essentials in the refrigerator that let us shop for more at our leisure.
If you are sensitive to overhead noise, this is not the place for you. Jacqui does try to keep the noise above down to a minimum but you will hear walking around. The apartment is located on a walkout basement level, so not a lot of natural light. However, if you are visiting San Francisco for the first time, like us, you will not be in the apartment much.
Other than that, it is great! Very clean apartment with all the necessities. The apartment is located in a unique neighborhood and fairly close to transit. It was easy to get around.
Im glad someone finally got to this. I believe the listing clearly states that I live in the home above the apartment. This is very much a prime San Francisco urban environment in which people live in close proximity. However, you can also hear the birds in the trees including the wild parrots of Telegraph Hill. And yes, wafting sounds of musicians on Haight, a toddler playing next door, and the intermittent siren or Harley. In addition, I must correct you, Cheryl because you make a good point about where the apartment sits in the building and so Id like to clarify. The apartment is NOT at basement level -- it would be considered ground level which looks out on a well-kept and tree-shaded garden. So instead of direct sunlight, you get a lot of greenery and blooming flowers at your windows. Hope this helps future guests. Best, Jacqui
What a wonderful apartment right in the center of all the action on Haight Street. Markets, coffee shops, plenty of food and drink right at your door step. Golden Gate park right in your backyard and plenty of transportation close at hand. The space was more than you would ever get in a hotel room. The rooms were clean and well kept with a full kitchen right there not just some mini bar and microwave. I can't say enough except that I will most likely book here again when I return to visit my daughters.
Great location. We were able to get around the city easily from here. Also a great deal to do within walking distance. Clean comfortable space. We didn't spend much time in the apartment but it was relaxing while we were there. Thank you Jacqui!
SF is a city I love and it's always super exciting to travel there. Staying at Jacqui's great appartment was the cherry on top. A Cosy, quiet, functional and nicely furnished space, and the (big) plus: a garden! Always nice to have your morning coffee or an aperitif in a garden on a non foggy day! The location is amazing, right in the heart of the Iconic Haigth-Ashbury, with tons of restaurants/bar/shopping options nearby. Jacqui is an awesome hostess, with good communication, and with a real sense of welcoming and hosting guests! I'd definitely stay here again!
What an incredible experience! The space is absolutely perfect. If you're looking to be in the center of a ton of things to do in the Haight while also having a place for relaxation and solitude at the end of the night this is absolutely the place to book. Jacqui was very accommodating and is an expert at providing a thoroughly grand experience. I would highly recommend this space and would absolutely book it again without hesitation.
