Spanish Steps Gem With Terrace

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Via della Vite, Rome, Lazio 00187, Italy

The Space

Lovely one-bedroom apartment just a couple of minutes from the Spanish Steps, on the second floor of a recently refurbished 17th century building with elevator.

There is a spacious living room with two front-aspect French windows overlooking one of the quieter streets in the Spanish Steps area.

The bedroom has a comfortable double bed and ample built-in wardrobe (as well as additional linen and towel storage). It is rear-aspect, leading to a gorgeous leafy terrace that looks onto the internal courtyard. The terrace is furnished with an outdoor dining table and chairs, perfect for enjoying a quiet breakfast or lunch or even hosting a dinner party on a balmy Roman night!

The living room – which includes a small open-plan kitchen – is stylishly furnished with dining table and chairs, a sofa-bed, bookshelves and a piano.

There is one bathroom with shower, and a separate laundry room.

The apartment is in a small building, occupying the entire second floor, and comes with everything you need for a comfortable stay away from home: wifi, air conditioning, washing machine, hair dryer, stereo, sheets and towels (of course), electric kettle, coffee maker, cooking utensils, and various maps and guides to Rome. And because dirt and clutter are my two pet peeves, it's also super tidy and squeaky clean!

The apartment is perfectly located for exploring Rome's historical center: all of the major attractions, including the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, the Colosseum, Campo de' Fiori, Piazza del Popolo, Villa Borghese, Piazza Venezia, are within easy walking distance. The area is also well served by public transport: the Piazza di Spagna metro station (only three stops from Termini) is less than a five minute walk away, as are numerous buses. And there is a taxi station just around the corner, which is really convenient for getting back to the airport of to Termini if you don't feel like lugging your bags around public transport.

The Spanish Steps area is also great for shopping – with the legendary Via dei Condotti just around the corner – and is filled with countless amazing restaurants, bars and coffee shops. And for those who don't want to eat out for every meal, there are several well-stocked supermarkets within easy walking distance.

  • TJ's apartment is in a fantastic location, right in a beautiful part of Rome's historic centre, with a wealth of restaurants and shops nearby.

The apartment is lovely as well, and is in a nice apartment block with an elevator (although only being on the second floor that's not too much of a problem anyway).

It's beautifully designed and furnished (it even has a piano!), and made for an extremely comfortable and relaxed base for our stay in Rome.

Kitchen is stocked with the basics for doing some cooking, but with the restaurants and cafes around, you're probably not going to be doing much. I would have loved to have some wine glasses, (website hidden) was friendly and responsive before and during our visit when we had questions or issues.

The bed is a little narrow for two people, but the sofa in the living room folds out into a futon if needs (website hidden) provides stacks of extra linen and towels.

Overall, it was a great spot to base ourselves in Rome, and a really nice apartment. I would most certainly consider staying here again next time we're in Rome.

  • My husband and I had a wonderful 5-night stay at TJ's apartment in Roma! The location was absolutely perfect, and the apartment was very clean and perfectly suited our needs. We especially loved returning to the apartment in the evening, putting on some jazz and enjoying some wine and antipasti on the terrace. We would definitely stay there again should we be lucky enough to return to Rome in the future. We would highly recommend this gem!

  • Loved it! Great location! One block from Spanish Steps and 10-20 min. walk to all the major sights in Rome. 12Euro taxi to/ from Termini station with a taxi stand a half block from condo. Spacious 2 rooms with high ceilings, elevator, heat/AC, nice kitchen area with dinner table, clean bathroom and a cozy terrace. Area was quiet at night and very safe. Restaurants and grocery store all within walking (website hidden) was fantastic! When we needed her she was there for us. Thank you, dear TJ. Hope to return!

  • This flat was perfect! You could not ask for a better location, we walked everywhere and didn't once take the metro or (website hidden) had arranged everything perfectly, she was not there but had someone welcome us and give us the keys. It was also really nice of her to allow us to stay in the flat until 1pm on our last day.
    A great experience all round!

  • Perfect place to stay. Very comfortable bed, and couch. I wasn't feeling the best, after coming down with a cold, so spent one quiet evening inside. I love looking thru the art books!

Her housekeeper let me in and he was such a gentleman. You have space for your clothes to hang, which a lot of airbnb places do not have. Centrally located that you can drop off your shopping spoils and can continue exploring.

I would definitely stay here again!

  • We absolutely adored our time at the "Spanish Steps Gem With Terrace" property!

TJ was a fantastic host--communicative and helpful. Our flight arrived in Rome at almost midnight on a Sunday evening, and TJ waited late for us and greeted us (email hidden) also provided us with a packet of instructions that included how to reach the property, nearby supermarkets and helpful hints for the flat.

The apartment is beautiful and completely functional. The neighborhood is probably one of the best in Rome; you are only minutes on foot from all of the major attractions and have an endless amount of restaurants, bars and shopping venues right outside your door.

We could not have been happier with the host, the apartment and its location. We will definitely try and book with TJ again when we are next in Rome!

  • We loved this place. I truly cannot fault our experience with TJ and this apartment. The apartment is in a fantastic location, near Via del Corso, the Spanish Steps (etc). The apartment was exactly as described in the photos and text on AirBnb. It is small, but very clean, adequately stylish, and has all that you need. I was staying with my son, so we used the living room as a second bedroom, and that worked just fine.

We arrived early from the airport, and there was no-one there to meet us. I contacted TJ and she arranged for someone to be there within an hour. This was very generous and (website hidden) was quick to answer emails and sort problems when there was an issue (which only happened once).

And if you are looking for a wonderful restaurant, I really recommend Palatium, which is around the corner.

    A great place.

  • TJ's apartment is fantastic. It is centrally located, close to the metro stop and within walking distance of so many incredible monuments. The apartment itself is lovely; it has a spacious (by my New York standard) living room with a piano and a separate bedroom and terrace. The water pressure and heat were great which is always a great surprise. I wouldn't hesitate to book this apartment for your trip to Rome, it's great!

  • We stayed a week at TJ's apartment and we really liked it. It is very central, close to most tourist attractions, with a grocery store and metro station nearby. The apartment is cozy and well appointed. The terrace is charming, the bathroom is small, but practical, with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. We felt right at home. It opens on an attractive street that can get noisy at times. The washer/dryer is not easy to (website hidden) was very helpful and responsive when we had questions. I would highly recommend renting this place.

I love watching movies (of course), reading, taking photos, and going on long walks. I'm especially fond of wandering around Rome, and, if I'm lucky, getting lost (best way to discover the city's hidden treasures!) I'm fluent in English and Italian, speak conversational French and Spanish, and if need be, can get by in German!
