About this listing
This wonderful property's past life was the creamery at Pioneer Farm. It has since been converted to a wonderfully delightful two bed room one bath guest cottage. The Creamery is located on Pioneer Farm which is 140 acres of pristine farm land located just 50 miles from NYC.
During your stay you can take advantage of the wonderful amenities on the property, including several short walks throughout the fields, streams and ponds located on site. If you're feeling particularly adventurous feel free to explore some of the many hiking trails including the Appalachian trail located within a short drive from the farm. If your goal is to relax and decompress just simply grab a cocktail and lounge by the pool and take in the gorgeous vista of green rolling fields.
The Farm itself is our family home. It has a communal nature and as such you will be treated as one of the family during your stay.
The town of Warwick itself is the jewel of the Hudson Valley featuring many shops, restaurants, cafes and one of the last true main streets. Also a five minute drive form one of the last great drive-in movie theaters!
One of the great features of this listing is that a car is not necessary to get here. You can tke NJ Transit via the 196/197 ( and 1 hour and 15 mins) and from there the farm is a 10 min walk from center of town.
Staying at the creamery is a great way to escape the stresses of NYC and simply just relax and get some fresh air.
The creamery is slightly rustic in that the kitchen is not a full kitchen, however you have an under counter fridge to keep your drinks chilled. Included is a sink and counter top cooker but to be honest a Weber and gas grill are really all you need for cooking a summer BBQ feast.
Take advantage of all the wonderful produce grown locally such as Ochs orchard next door or simply head to our vegetable garden and help yourself!
Great place to stay for a family wanting to spend a little time on a farm in the country. Host was friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Property is stunning, animals are great fun for the kids, and the pool was really a plus! Nice things to do nearby like visit Ochs Orchard and Pennings.
The Creamery and its surrounding property were absolutely gorgeous! Evenings at the pool were a perfect escape from the humidity of the city. From the comfort of the pool and garden, we were able to watch a family of deer exploring the field each night. We also were so excited to visit the horses in the stable beside the Creamery. Matt was very helpful in making suggestions of places to try around town, and even hustled us up some charcoal when we ran out mid-meal preparation! Nearby Ochs Orchard is a must visit: I've never been to a pick your own farm with so many options. We left with a haul including peaches, apples, tomatoes, cherry peppers, eggplant, raspberries, and strawberries. Stay here!
Matty and family were extremely welcoming. They even offered up a bouncer for our baby and left fresh eggs on the counter. The listing is even more beautiful than in the photos. It's a true farmhouse and has a rustic feel, even indoors, but we thought that was charming. It was clean, lots of towels, comfy pillows. The pool has killer views. All this open land is smack dab next to the downtown. I cannot imagine there is any other property in warwick with this sort of land so close to downtown. What I wouldn't give to have that space as mine! They have a gem.
The location and host was perfect for our weekend getaway. Matt provided some amazing suggestions for local food and activities and even provided fresh eggs from their farm. Sunrise and sunset are absolutely gorgeous here and the air was crisp and clean. Going into town is a short drive and has plenty of things to do. Our group consisted of big foodies and we were not disappointed of what the area had to offer in terms of variety and taste! Definitely considering making this trip a yearly venue for our getaway. Everything was perfect! Thanks again Matt for your help and hospitality!
Great place. Great host. The kids loved the animals and the land is beautiful.
Overall, Amazing place to stay! Cute little farm with plenty of hidden gems. We loved the horses, chickens, friendly hosts and fellow guests. The creamery was enough space for four and a couple of dogs. We felt more then welcomed. Matt even brought us fresh eggs and allowed us to pick berried from the garden. We also enjoyed hanging out poolside and taking the dogs to swim in the fresh water pond. This B&B was much more then we expected.
Wonderful experience. Our family loved staying on this beautiful, relaxing, fun property. Matt was a great host who was very easy going and accommodated all of our requests. We had a great time and look forward to returning soon. Awesome vacation experience. Highly recommend.
