Interaction with Guests
As we are at home and live here with two dogs, we try to provide as much privacy as possible and do not engage our guests unless they desire to; we are happy to assist in making recommendations to local restaurants and attractions, and directions to any nearby destinations
It is quiet, peaceful and private. It is suburban but not in a subdivision. It is convenient to shopping, restaurants, attractions and interstates.
There is a TARC bus stop at the end of the street. Guests will need a car to get around, unless they have made other arrangements.
Other Things to Note
We have two friendly and affectionate miniature schnauzers.
Questions or requests should be asked upon reservation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Glen's and Brad's home. For a week. There are three reviews from me because of the rate change around Derby weekend. Opinion never changed. A top drawer couple, top drawer home and top drawer neighborhood. Highly recommended.
Still a great spot and great host couple.
But Brad knows more about the tip sheets and racing form and the least about horses of anyone I have ever known. ;)
Glen and her husband Brad are very gracious and accommodating hosts. Their home is right out of the pages of Better Homes and Gardens.
We arrived super late (2am) and everything went as planned. Glen has had juice, bagels and coffee waiting for us each morning. We shared a glass of wine with Glen and Brad last night after we got back from the steamboat races (that they made us aware of).
The neighborhood is Southern suburban - dogwoods are blooming, huge grass lawns -obviously couldn't feel safer. You do need a car. The river is just a short drive / long walk away.
We are really looking forward to the rest of Derby week here with them.
Highly recommended accommodation and hosts.
Wow! Glen and Brad have made our first airbnb experience a great one. We felt about as welcome and comfortable as we do in our own home. They were great hosts! We enjoyed being their guests in their fantastic home in the NE close-in suburbs of Louisville. Don't think they're too far out in the 'burbs - the location is awesome and 10 minutes from everything. We will check in with them first for future visits to Louisville.
We decided to take a last minute trip to Louisville due to a sick family member. I texted Glen and asked if her home would be available for the night. She immediately replied and said Yes!
What a beautiful home and family. We were welcomed in and invited to join them watch the Olympics.
Comfortable bed and private bath. Coffee in the morning and the Sunday paper. Great airbnb hosts. Highly recommend Glen and Brad. Thanks!
Glen and Brad are wonderfully accommodating hosts for whom hospitality seems to come naturally. I enjoyed our conversations, which served as pleasant bookends to my long work days. There was a bagel, coffee and oj available and/or already waiting for me each morning. The room was comfortable and I appreciated the private, attached bathroom also. I would recommend their accommodations to anyone, and would return without hesitation if in the area again.
Our visit with Glen was great! She and her husband gave us ideas of things to do and places to see in their wonderful city! We were free to come and go as we pleased, and were very comfortable in their home. It was nice being able to retreat into the suburbs of Louisville in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The Humes were very welcoming and hospitable - even though we arrived at their home after 11 PM. Thank you both for the wonderful place to stay!

About the Host, Glen
I am an active retired real estate appraiser now working part-time at a children's boutique and caring for my nearly-3-yr-old grandson one day a week. I'm active at my gym, church, and with a circle of friends including a close friend whose son works for Airbnb. I enjoy traveling, reading, knitting, cooking and walking my dogs in nice weather. I like to host friends and family for dinner, and family and friends for weekends, especially around Derby time. I'd enjoy meeting and getting to know my Airbnb guests!
