Other Things to Note

No smoking in the house.
We had an amazing experience in Valerie's village and house. The house is very big, nice, cosy, clean and the location is just great. There is a very nice view, all around is so peaceful and it was just pity we spend only one night.
Definitely we will be back and we recommend everyone Valerie house.
Our host Valerie is easy going and friendly. We met up at the arranged time in the village and she guided us to the house. When we arrived, she greeted us warmly and showed us around the house.
The house is as it is described on the site. It is spacious and comfortable. The beds are comfortable and so are the settees. The kitchen is large and clean.
The grounds are beautiful. It was a shame that we did not have the weather to spend in the garden or have a barbecue! Perhaps next time.
It's set in a quiet neighbourhood - very serene and peaceful. Sitting at the table to eat, you look out to a beautiful scene.
We'd definitely come back and would highly recommend Valerie's house to our friends.
Thank you Valerie for a lovely stay in your house.
Love this house and location! It is a perfect place for a week (or more!) vacation from life! Quite secluded and peaceful off a small road in the middle of the country side. Due to scheduling, we were unable to meet Valerie but she was kind enough to have a friend meet us in the town nearby to guide us to the home and give us a tour. The house is about 15 mins (by car) from the nearest grocery store. The house does smell a bit like cats as the now yard cats were apparently previously house cats. Valerie does stay in the camper on the same property which worried me with my kids running around early in the morning (was afraid of waking her after her late work night).
Booked this house based on the description and positive reviews from prior guests. Unfortunately, the experience my family had was quite the opposite.
We emailed Valerie the morning that we were arriving and received confirmation from her complete with directions to her village. Upon arriving, we called her as she had instructed a only a few hours before. Valerie then told us that she had canceled our reservation as she had guests coming the following day for 2 nights.
We were quite surprised, as we had communicated with her just a few hours before. Suddenly without lodging, we headed the 35 km back into Kilkenny and began looking for a place to stay.
After arriving in Kilkenny, we received a message from Valerie that she had mistaken us for someone else, and could we return. Having found no other place to stay, we agreed, and her sister met us to show us the way. Beautiful drive, very isolated and peaceful as described.
When we arrived at the house, her sister simply unlocked the door, told us to enjoy our stay, and that Valerie would be back in the morning.
The house was cute, the bedrooms were clean, however the kitchen was not overly clean and the house had an overwhelming cat odor. The toilets did not refill very fast so flushing was a problem.
We could not turn on the heaters in the house. Having had no tour of the home, we were left to figure everything out on our own. Messaged Valerie and about four hour later got a call explains the heaters and toilets.
While the location was beautiful, the confusion and lack of communication from Valerie made our visit to Kilkenny frustrating and incredibly disappointing.
The best part of being here were the views and the access to a washer and dryer.
Amazing house and amazing quite location. Valeria is easy going and she will meet you in her village to show you her place. All easy going i recommend it
Valerie was very welcoming and met us at the appointed time and place - she even had to wait a few minutes for us; She showed us the house and gave us some specific and helpful instructions before leaving, offering to help if anything else was needed. The house was exactly as pictured and the only surprises we had were positive as the house feels very cozy (although it's big and has 2 floors) and warm. All the amenities were available (including Wi-Fi) and in excellent condition. The surrounding area was simply amazing - very calm neighborhood, beautiful scenery with green fields and mountains in the background... simply idyllic. My family loved it and we will definetly be coming back if we get the chance - thanks Valerie!
