My house consists of kitchen/diner, two bathrooms, three bedrooms, I have two large bedrooms upstairs, one triple and one double,a single one downstairs, rooms upstairs are suitable for singles or couples, single one downstairs will accomodate one.
Located in rural area but close to towns and cities and also beaches, lots of places of historical interest aswell
It is 20 minutes to the motorway to dublin which is one hour and half drive.
Lots of attractions if you like outdoors, mountains lakes and coast
lots of shopping aswell nearby in Waterford and Kilkenny cities
you will need a car but that is rural life here
I have lots of space outside too which includes a stone built bbq
There is a local pub within walking distance, quarter of a mile away.
There are cats at my premises although not in the house, if you are not an animal/cat lover then my house is probably not for you.
Please email/phone at least one day in advance so as I am here to meet you or have someone else meet you.
Guests will have access to the entire house and garden
Interaction with Guests
I am available if you need me for anything and I will do my best to help you out, if you don't need me I will leave you alone to enjoy the house and the Kilkenny countryside.
This is a very quite rural area but you are still only 15 mins to the nearest town and 30 mins from the cities of Waterford and Kilkenny.
You will need a car as the nearest public transport is 6 km from the house.
Other Things to Note
I have four cats at the property, they spend their time outdoors, so cat lovers and animal lovers welcome, if you don't like animals then you will not be a suitable guest for us.
Strictly no smoking inside the house. There is no extra cleaning fee because I will expect it to be kept clean while you are there.
Valerie was always there for us when we needed something. The house was large and had a good outdoor area and BBQ. We loved the cats. There were no shops nearby and the pub only opened at 8pm on weekdays, but we enjoyed the isolation and views across the fiefs.
We stayed in Valerie's house for the weekend and she was a wonderful host. She met us at a nearby junction and we followed her to this very comfortable and large house. It was as lovely as we both hoped and larger than we expected from the photos.
She gave us the tour of the house, shared the wi-fi password and after making sure we were comfortable left us to ourselves. It was a perfect weekend, with plenty of activities to keep us busy in Kilkenny and a lovely place to come and rest at the end of each day. When we had any questions Valerie was quick to answer, and we felt as home in the house as could anywhere. Thank you Valerie. We'll be recommending the house to any friends we have coming to the area.
Valerie was a fantastic host, with her friend Jaromir going beyond what was expected helping us find the house and making sure we felt right at home. We had a very relaxing couple of days with plenty of space with a modern kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. If you are looking to get away from the busy cities for a couple of days this would certainly be a great choice!
Definitely one of the best houses among all that we were staying all over Ireland. Such a lovely cats walking arround the house. Strongly recommended staying at Valerie's.
We get lost a little bit at first, because GPS coords are wrong. exact location of the house is: (phone number hidden) ; direct link to (website hidden) maps (website hidden)
We had a relaxing stay at Valeries home for one day. The area was very quiet and rural with a couple of laid back cats and a dog roaming the property. The views from the front yard was vast and beautiful. My toddler got a kick out of all the animals around, including a donkey over the fence at a neighbor's yard. Inside the home felt familiar, like a casual vacation cottage.
The only difficulty we had was finding the house. We got a bit lost for a while before finding the town where the host offered to meet us. (website hidden) maps didn't help and it would have been truly impossible to find it without meeting the host at the entrance of the town to be guided to the house.
Nice home in a country location. A little bit isolated and difficult to find. Make sure you put the house as the home location in your GPS or you will never find it again. The host met us and we followed her into the house but then got lost when we went out for dinner.
There are four cats at the property so not good for allergy sufferers.
I love where I live, it has it all, the contryside and city life nearby if you want it,I love to travel myself and I want my house to be comfortable and welcoming the same as I expect when I am abroad.
The house is fully equipped and hopefully can be your home from home in Kilkenny.
