Enjoy Flagstaff from your private bedroom in a historic retro-styled home with stunning views of the San Francisco Peaks with easy access to the Arizona Snowbowl and The Lava Tubes. Just 75 minutes to the Grand Canyon and about 15-20 minutes to downtown Flagstaff! Please read below for further details and history!

The space
The big red house at the base of the San Francisco Peaks contains within it's walls Mudshark Recording Studios, the oldest running recording studio in Flagstaff in action since the mid 1970's. This historic Northern Arizona landmark was started by Phil Gall and has been recording local and regional artists for over 30 years! There are many tales in local folklore of visits to the studio by members of the Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead to Steve Miller and Linda Ronstadt.

The house features a 1960's retro ski lodge vibe with passive solar greenhouse/lounge area. The property is backed by the National Forest with excellent winter trails and just within miles of the grand entrance to the Snowbowl. Many points of interest near by like Wing Mountain play area, Museum of Northern Arizona and the Northern Arizona Historical Society. Just 75 minutes to the Grand Canyon and about 15-20 minutes to downtown Flagstaff!

Note: This house is a vintage house and has flaws which give it character.
All proceeds from your Airbnb stay goes to supporting and renovating this historic piece of Flagstaff music history which is slated to reopen in the Fall. That being said, there are some areas of the home in various stages of renovation in anticipation of the opening of the studio portion of the house.

Thank you for supporting the local arts in Flagstaff!

Guest access
As a guest, you'll be able to access your private bedroom, great room/living room, shared kitchen, shared bathroom and shared laundry area.

Other things to note
We have two active children who do wake up early and make some noise during the day. There are two dogs on the property. This house is also a non profit recording studio as well so occasionally there will be noise made by people playing music. The house is a classic and is almost 50 years old. That being said don't expect a new build house without blemishes or character.
