We had a great experience at Linda's house. She was really nice from the very first moment. Her house is very cosy and she prepared us a really good breakfast every morning we stayed there. She even took us to the Aquarium for free because she is a member. Great experience! 100 % recommended!
Linda was a fantastic hostess! She is friendly and helpful and cooks a wonderful breakfast everyday! I wish we could have stayed longer! I highly recommend staying here.
Because of Linda's magnificent and flawless reviews we decided to book our stay with her. The price of staying with her was the same as hotels in the French Quarter, but decided the free parking and free breakfast would make staying with Linda more rewarding. The breakfast was: fresh fruit, walnuts, almonds, coffee, orange juice, toast, croissants and cheese. It was good. Linda had been the most talkative out of all of the hosts we have had so far. Her apartment was nice. But even after all of this we didn't think it was worth the price. Paying around $100 to have to share a bathroom a bit out of the city wasn't a wise decision. I asked Linda what the best restaurant in New Orleans was and she told me it was the Hong Kong Buffet which when we looked it up has since closed down. We felt that a host should be better versed in recommendations if he or she are going to give them out. Her apartment is cluttered, and not quite clean enough. Linda is friendly; however, some of the topics of communication which she initiated seemed inappropriate in the diverse world we live in today. This communication didn't reflect that of a woman of high manners that the advertisement and other reviews had demonstrated. She did offer us rides into the city, free wine and cheese upon our arrival, but the place isn't up to the five star standard that her reviews give her in terms of cleanliness, space and hospitality. The night before we left she was in the bathroom, which is connected to the bedroom, all night. She took a shower around 4:30 AM which ultimately caused us to leave earlier than expected the next day because we had been awoken by her extremely early movements. She explained that she woke up in the middle of the night to work on job applications, but we didn't think that was fair to us as our bedroom has a door directly to the shared bathroom where she seemed to spend most of the hours from 1AM-5AM. We weren't sure we had the privacy that she advertises and felt that she didn't meet the great hospitality that we were so enticed by. Linda did give us one free night due to a meeting that required a late checkin on our part, which we definitely appreciated. Nevertheless, she has a long way to go before the costs meet the experience.
I was really surprised with this review since this guest had written such nice
comments in my guest book as follows: "As all the reviews suggest you, Linda
really encompassed true hospitality. You have transformed Airbnb for us. We have
generally enjoyed our time and hope to meet again." Her friend wrote" Had a nice
stay in Linda's. She is kind and welcoming and goes out of her way to make sure your time with her is special. The breakfast was delicious and the visit to the aquarium was a brilliant trip!." Also, I have noted all 15 groups that I hosted previously reviewed me in a very positive light and really enjoyed their stay.
The above guest only paid for one night but I graciously had given them an
extra free night because of their late check in. I also gave them two breakfasts
and wine and cheese and champagne extras. Additionally I had two tickets to
the Aquarium of the Americas (worth $45.00) which I gave to them as a gift and they seemed to really enjoy. I feel that I went way beyond what I needed to do to be a good hostess and accommodate my guests. The Hong Kong Buffet which she mentioned that I had recommended was open (I go there often) I am curious she did not mention this to me as I would have gladly taken them down there myself.
I am well versed in all my recommendations to my guests. Also I use a very efficient cleaning service and always check my rooms before guests arrive. Additionally, I am always open and communicative to all my guests
and am very appropriate in my (email hidden)d manners I truly enjoy
hosting and meeting guests with different backgrounds and diversity. It
has been very interesting and has expanded my knowledge of the world we live in.
I was also told by my guests that they had to leave early at 730 am the second night they had stayed so I did use my bathroom briefly to shower and dress in order to prepare them a nice breakfast before they left and open the gate of the community I live in in order to let them and their car out. I do sometimes quietly study at the kitchen table at night -which is very far away from their bedroom. When my guests left that morning they appeared happy and said they slept well. I gave them a very nice angel pen set as a souvenir of their visit to the "Angel Room."
I try very hard to be sensitive to the needs of my guests and to be a good hostess.
Hopefully every guest will enjoy their stay and will have a good Airbnb experience.
We recently stayed with Linda, and we can honestly say that we have never experienced such warm hospitality and genuine kindness by a host. From the minute we arrived in New Orleans and she picked us up from the airport, Linda went out of her way to show us the best of everything that the city had to offer. Each day was a new adventure, and Linda is such a knowledgeable lady on every aspect of New Orleans culture and what is happening around the city. How lucky we were to have such a fabulous personal guide that enriched our whole vacation experience. The accommodation was very comfortable, and the breakfast served each morning was a true feast with so many choices. Linda is truly a great host willing to go the extra mile to make your visit memorable. Thanks Linda.
Linda was a great host. I needed a place with such short notice, and she moved quickly to accommodate my needs. She offered more in service than her ad said and made my stay very pleasant. She even took me around to help acquaint me with New Orleans. The best comment I can offer is "Don't change a thing!"
We loved our stay and our time in New Orleans so booked an extra night. Thats why there are two reviews. Recommend staying with Linda!
We had a brilliant time at Linda's house! She made us feel extremely welcome during our stay. She picked us up from the airport an dropped us off.
Her house is uniquely decorated and we loved the idea of the Hollywood bathroom! Very cool! The amazing breakfast we had each morning gave us something to look forward to when we went to sleep!
Linda gave us information on what to see and do whilst in New Orleans and was often researching further information for us on her laptop. We went to a swamp tour and plantation tour and spent two nights out in Bourbon street!
We love our stay with Linda, she really is such a sweet heart and a generous, caring host. Thank you so much Linda, we love you! Miss you already :)
FABULOUS!!! First of all, the house is nice, bed is comfy, and breakfast is abundant. But the absolute best part is Linda!
1) She's very nice, good company, but not overbearing. Always willing to chat or offer input on your stay, but completely fine with letting you do your own thing (and keep your own hours).
2) She drove me and the other guest anywhere we wanted, completely on our schedule. And she picked us up! We saved $20+ on parking each day for Jazz Fest, plus got timely door-to-door drop off and pickup. That was a total blessing.
3) One time I left my cellphone in her car, and she insisted on coming back to drop it off for me! I was going to come to her (she had taken the other guest to dinner), but instead she rushed over with it. So nice!
4) SHE WATCHED MY DOG WHEN I WAS OUT! I can't get over this. Not only did she let him stay in the house when I was out (which was most of the time), she played with him, TOOK HIM TO THE PARK, and let him cuddle with her on my late nights exploring.
Basically, Linda did everything she could to make my stay as nice as it could be. She treated me like family (the kind you like). I highly, highly recommend this location for anyone who wants a clean, comfortable room with a phenomenal hostess.
Nowhere in New Orleans could you go and be treated better. Especially not any hotel. Linda treated my wife and I like royalty, as though we were her own family. The accommodations were perfect, the breakfast each morning was delicious and the conversation and southern hospitality were outstanding. Linda was helpful in every possible way and went above and beyond to make our honeymoon an experience we won't forget. My wife and I thought that everything was perfect. Her place was spotless, her demeanor was very pleasant and her attitude was that of a true southern lady. In future trips to The Big Easy, we will definitely be staying with Linda.
