Charming cottage breathtaking views

House - Entire home/apt · Via San Giorgio, Soriano Nel Cimino, Lazio 01038, Italy

The Space

A charming cottage with breathtaking views situated in the heart of Tuscia, land of the Etruscan civilization which spreads across northern Lazio, Tuscany and western Umbria.

(email hidden) above sea level it is an ideal place for a couple wanting a tranquil and fresh place to return to, after a busy day sightseeing in the heath of summer.
It has an open plan sitting room with a mezzanine bedroom, a bathroom with a shower, a changing room, an open plan kitchenette and dining area, a terrace, an outdoor wood-fired oven ideal for pizza making or simply BBQ, an outdoor dining area under the vine overlooking the garden and distant views.

Recreational items from table tennis, mini soccer table, croquet set, bowls and a darts board are also available.

An unusual feature of the cottage is its decor intended to show the development of central Italian rustic culture throughout history.

The cottage is situated on the slopes of the Cimini Hills, with truly breathtaking views of rolling countryside and distant mountains, in the outskirts of the medieval town of Soriano nel Cimino, 20 mins from the Papal city of Viterbo, 45 mins from scenic Orvieto, Civita di Bagnoregio and Lake Bolsena and one hours from the many well known destinations in Umbria and Tuscany. Central Rome and both Ciampino and Fiumicino airport are only 90 minutes away.

The area is renowned for its archeologiocal findings from the Etruscan civilization. Set amongst the Cimini national forest and its many lakes, the area is also known for the many thermal springs.

On an architectural note, it is well worth a visit to the Renaissance gardens at nearby Villa Lante in Bagnaia, the Farnese palace of Caprarola and the Monster gardens in Bomarzo.

Life is very local and not touristy, despite it being so well located for Rome, Tuscany and Umbria. Soriano is a very friendly town with all the necessary amenities and some excellent and reasonably priced restaurants. There is also lots of good eating in surrounding towns.

  • Every word in the description of the property is true: the cottage is absolutely charming and the view is really breathtaking! This property must be the best-kept secret of Italy, since we were only the second couple to stay in the cottage since Elisabetta joined Airbnb. We strongly recommend the cottage as well as our hostess, who did everything to make us feel welcome and to make our stay a very pleasurable one. Everything you could need during your holiday is there: a nicely equipped kitchen, garden furniture, toiletries, a bottle of icecold water in the fridge upon arrival, an ironing board and an iron, a hair dryer, and much more. Even breakfast for the first few days was supplied. Wifi is also available, at a good speed. We enjoyed every minute of our holiday in Soriano nel Cimino and hope to come back someday.

  • Elisabetta was a charming and extremely helpful host during our visit The cottage has everything a traveller desires to relax and feel at home. The decor is stunning and comfortable. Elisabettas recommendations for dining places in Soriano were excellent. We also enjoyed local produce and wine while sitting on our patio overlooking the fabulous views over the valley below.

With our hired car we were able explore our local surroundings the highlights for us being the fabulous garden at Villa Lante, Farnese Palace and gardens and the ancient Park of Monsters at Bomarzo.

We hope to visit again and highly recommend this delightful cottage.
