Perfect for travellers needs. Arranged with a minimalist design yet with all the comforts of home. Feel at home on a quiet street but just a 7min walk to Ebisu station. The buzzing metropolis on your doorstep. Shibuya Station a 3 min ride away.
When you walk in the front door you will find a private bathroom to your right and in front of you a super cosy room with a semi double bed and a fold down sofa bed. The room also has double balconies allowing in plenty of natural light and a small kitchenette . Plus there is a Mac computer there for your use with a bunch of movies downloaded onto it for your enjoyment. As an free added service, account access to TV & movie streaming sites will be shared with you upon booking.
All the comforts of home will be included so you can lighten your suitcase. Hairdryer, Iron, Shampoo, Conditioner, Soap, Towels are all provided for your comfort free of charge.
This room comes with an important extra. A portable WIFI router that you can carry around town! A must for Japan as you can use translate apps, maps, messaging services and all with a smart phone linked to the WIFI. Japan is a bit behind the times as far as access to wifi and internet in general (outside the big phone companies) so this will be a vital asset. After you confirm your booking I will also share info about recommended apps to download and lots of links to great sites for planning your trip.
Part of the reason I got into hosting is that I truly enjoy helping my guests get the most out of their trip to Japan. I have hosted many friends over the years and Airbnb guests for almost a year now and I am always learning new things from my guests, including how to be a better host and make the rooms more comfortable for your stay. Once you've booked, I will email PDF photo directions and the keys will be stored in a secure mailbox so if I am unable to meet you at the station for check-in, you can easily access the apartment. When you enter the room you will see the house manual with step by step room guide and a map to the neighbourhood with personal highlights and recommendations.
I will also share with you a link to a blog with all the info you need for planning your trip including how to get from the airport to the flat. I make sure to take care of the little details for you so you can focus on enjoying your trip.
You walk out the door of the apartment to a quiet street in a residential neighbourhood. Walk South for about 7min and you find Ebisu Garden Place, an amazing complex with dozens of shops and restaurants which even boasts two museums, one for Yebisu beer and one the Metropolitan Museum of Photography. Upon request I can reserve a table at a restaurant on the 38th floor overlooking Tokyo for your first night's stay. Walk North down the hill toward Ebisu Station (7mins) and you will find hundreds of bars, restaurants, boutiques, cafes and art spaces. This is a neighbourhood popular with a more mature crowd and a bit of a gastronomic centre of Tokyo. Yet, as the former site of the Ebisu brewery, it still retains some of it's working class charm in the East side, especially in the pub & izakaya alleyway and fish markets.
For more info have a read of the Airbnb guide for the area
From Ebisu station (10min walk) it is just a 3 min ride on the Yamanote to Shibuya station. The Yamanote line is the most convenient line in Tokyo. It loops Tokyo so you can get to about 30 stations without switching trains, including: Shibuya (3min), Harajuku (6min), Shinjuku (12min), Ikebukero (18min), Ueno (27min), Akihabara (26min), Tokyo (22min), Shinagawa (10min) where you can catch the bullet train and Narita Xpress
The reason that I first decided to live in Ebisu was basically for the access to everywhere in Tokyo. Being on the yamanote line can often cut travel times in half! Another reason I chose Ebisu is that it has a vibrant atmosphere, good shopping and restaurants yet an easier to manage size compared to mega stations like Shibuya and Shinjuku making it a bit easier to navigate. Plus it has more green spaces and trees than most other places in Tokyo and the lovely Ebisu Garden Place. I really love this part of Tokyo, I am pretty sure you will like it too.

We stayed this apt for four nights and felt that everything was great. The location is convenient and quiet. You can get everything you want just in case you forgot to bring what you need. However, I think it is suitable for 2 people to stay because we three stayed there a little be crowded.
Good location! Not far from supermarket, Ebisu JR/Metro station, and Ebisu Garden. The apartment sits beside a park so it is quiet at night and the portable wifi is handy. Will definitely consider Niall's place again.
Great apartment in a great area of tokyo, upper class area close to ebisu train line which is perfectly situated for travel all around tokyo and beyond
Two girlfriends and I stayed here over the NYE period. The apt is in a very safe and quiet location just up the road from a number of restaurants and shops in Ebisu. Shibuya is one stop away on the train line. The apt itself was very clean and tidy, although small, we were barely there but found it warm and cosy when we came home from a long day of walking and sightseeing. I have no hesitation in recommedning this apt to a couple of a few friends.
Niall was a helpful host from the moment we began looking for accommodations until we were in his apartment in ebisu. he even took the time to check in with us when he was on his vacation! the apartment is very clean and in a great location--central to many great neighborhood restaurants and the train/subway stations but in a very quiet corner.
Niall is a sweet and responsible host. We were surprised when we checked in that the room wasn't made and there was wet laundry hung out in the room. We dropped Niall an email and he came around the next morning with fresh linen and towels. Apparently, the cleaning lady had some personal matters and couldn't finish the job. We appreciate Niall's quick response.
Niall provided a portable wi-fi, which was a life-saver in a foreign city.
I would not recommend booking this room if the party has more than 3 adults (or equivalent), though. We had 2 adults and 2 kids and kept bumping into each other.
We had a great stay in this apartment at Ebisu, great location and we definitely appreciated all the amenities including the pocket wifi !
This is a cozy apartment in a quiet, primarily residential part of Tokyo. Ebisu is an excellent base for those looking to be both close to the action (Shibuya is one stop away on the JR Yamanote line), and guaranteed a good night's sleep. Check-in/out was smooth and we made use of the portable wi-fi and washing machine. We had three people staying for one night and it was a bit squeezy (especially with our excessive shopping), but it can be done! I have stayed in another of Niall's places in the Ebisu area, and would definitely stay in one of his properties again.
We actually stayed at a different listing of Niall's, a bigger flat near Meguro station. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1198561
Niall was the perfect host, checking in on us to ask how we were doing. The location of the flat was the best and so close to the train station in a quiet neighborhood but everything you need is nearby (i.e. several convenience stores, McDonalds, supermarket). The flat is small yet big by Tokyo standards but very functional and perfect for a family of up to 5.
Thanks Niall for making our trip to Tokyo an amazing experience!
It is a great location, have convenient store or supermarket, restaurant nearby! enjoy staying at this apartment!
