We are renting out our gorgeous stone home for the summer. It is in the tiny village of Gras, in the Ardèche area of the Rhône Alpes, in the south of France. The village is surrounded by vineyards and lavender fields, the house overlooks a valley of thyme and the famous rocky outcrop "La Dent de Rez".
The village is a 20 minute drive away from the Ardèche Gorges (and the stunning Pont d'Arc), 35 minutes from Montélimar and its delicious nougat, 1h15 from Avignon, 1h30 from Nîmes (and the closest airport) and 2 hours from Marseille.
The house has 3 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen-dining room, a living room, a gigantic bathroom, a large terrace with a pergola and dining table for meals outdoors, and 250m2 of garden. There is a playhouse for children in the garden and of course, a swimming pool.
Close by there are various farmers markets, summer festivals, the local farm and a number of stone villages oozing with history and medieval architecture (Vallon Pont d'Arc, Viviers, St Montan, Alba-la-Romaine). In the village itself there is a little post office and a restaurant snack-bar.
We provide sheets and bedding and towels. We are fully equipped for babies and toddlers (cot, high-chair, changing table, toys...). The kitchen is equipped with a big fridge-freezer, a dishwasher, an oven and a microwave. In the washroom downstairs (in one of the arched cellars) there is a washing machine and a tumble dryer. There is a screen and a DVD player in the living room, and of course wi-fi internet connection.
To get to the house you drive through an archway in the village. An estate car/hatchback fits through, but not anything much larger!
We're renting the house out weekly, from Saturday to Saturday, starting end of May and right through to September.
