Interaction with Guests
We live on the floor located above this room and work from home so we often run into our guests and are always available for questions. However, there are many times when schedules do not align and we miss our housemates entirely. We can adjust to your needs and provide as much or as little space as you prefer.
Do note that you might run into another Airbnb guest who is staying in a private room on the same floor and sharing the bathroom.
Our neighborhood is diverse and friendly with quaint vintage shops, quirky bars and excellent restaurants. It is conveniently located near I-5 and public transport.
Just 5 miles north of Downtown and nestled in the historic Kenton community close to shops and dining, we are within easy walking distance to public transit (Yellow Max line and several buses) and a quick 10 minute car ride downtown with great N/S-bound freeway access.
We are about 25-35 minutes away from downtown by bus or Yellow Max train line. Both are within six blocks of the house with a bus stop less than a block away.
Bus: 4 and 75 are less than a block away and the Yellow Max line is only 6 blocks from the house. All will take you downtown in about 25-35 minutes.
Car: Parking is free and easy curbside at the house.
We are in the Car2Go zone and several Zipcars are in the neighborhood making shared transportation readily available.
Airport: From the airport, take a taxi for $20-30 and spend 20 minutes or take the Red Max train from the airport to the Rose Quarter and change to the Yellow Max train to Kenton Station then walk to the house. It usually takes 1-1.5 hours and costs $2.50.

Lovely, peaceful, clean home. A delight of a stay! Lots of special "extras," felt like being at home.
Maylene and Charity's house was amazing! We loved its cleanliness and all of its bright colors. The neighborhood is a little farther away from Downtown Portland, but public transportation was super convenient and simple to navigate. Overall, we had an amazing time in Portland and our stay with Maylene and Charity helped make it relaxing and comfortable.
Had a great time staying here! Maylene & Charity provided us with detailed instructions for getting to the house, and they were available to provide information about the local area when we needed it. The room was bright and very comfortable. All the little details were taken care of - including extra toiletries in the bathroom! If you're visiting Portland, I'd highly recommend you stay here :)
Maylene and Charity were great. The room was very comfortable and as was the rest of the house! The house is in a great location and it only took us about 5-10 minutes to commute to Downtown which was very nice.
Listing was wonderful and very clean. Host made it awesome to stay super friendly. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay the bed was very comfy and we got to watch a movie that we had never seen. Wonderful hospitality and host made it very easy to locate cooking supplies with labels and was very easy to get in contact with.
Our experience at Maylene and Charity's house was one of hospitality and comfort. We enjoyed the beautiful decor and the cute neighborhood. We were sad that our time was so short.
