Interaction with Guests
We live on the floor located above this room and work from home so we often run into our guests. However, there are many times when schedules do not align and we miss our guests entirely but are always available for questions and recommendations.
Do note that you might run into another Airbnb guest staying in their own private room on the same floor and sharing the bathroom with you.
Our neighborhood is diverse and friendly with quaint vintage shops, quirky bars and excellent restaurants. It is conveniently located near I-5 and public transport.
Just 5 miles north of Downtown and nestled in the historic Kenton community close to shops and dining, we are within easy walking distance to public transit (Yellow Max line and several buses) and a 20 minute car ride downtown with great N/S-bound freeway access.
We are about 25-35 minutes away from downtown by bus or Yellow Max train line. Both are within six blocks of the house with a bus stop less than a block away.
Bus: 4 and 75 are less than a block away and the Yellow Max line is only 6 blocks from the house. All will take you downtown in about 25-35 minutes.
Car: Parking is free and easy curbside at the house.
We are in the Car2Go zone and several Zipcars are in the neighborhood making shared transportation readily available.
Airport: From the airport, take a taxi for $20-30 and spend 20 minutes or take the Red Max train from the airport to the Rose Quarter and change to the Yellow Max train to Kenton Station then walk to the house. It usually takes 1-1.5 hours and costs $2.50 per person.

My boyfriend and I had a pleasant stay here. We didn't get to meet the host, but we still felt at home. Communication was easy, and that made everything go smoothly. Also, the host is well organized. We appreciate the organization. There are many amenities provided, and we love the claw foot bath tub! The selling point for us was that the home is close to public transportation into downtown. I would like to add that the home is even more beautiful in person. We highly recommend staying here. It is a guaranteed good time!
Maylene and Charity's place was great! They were extraordinarily communicative, informative, and friendly. The house was very easy to find and get into; lots of character and very clean and comfortable. We stayed in the Burnside room, which was very comfortable. Clean and large bathroom right by the room. They had coffee and tea available in the morning, and everything was labeled very clearly in the kitchen (the cabinets). Loved staying there!
We loved the location, close to the train and local restaurants. The check in process was very easy and the accommodations were immaculate. The neighborhood felt safe and friendly, and was simply a delight to walk about in.
We had an excellent experience at Maylene and Charity's airbnb room! The room was very clean and the location was close to the airport. We only stayed one night before leaving Portland but it was very easy to get to and their directions made moving in and out simple! I am super picky when it comes to bathrooms but the shared washroom was VERY clean and the shower pressure/shower head was amazing! Thanks for hosting!
Maylene and Charity provided a clean, super comfortable room in their beautiful home. The neighborhood was quiet, easy to access and close to several good restaurants.
Very pleasant stay at the house. The room, bathroom and house were immaculately clean, bed comfortable, and listing exactly as described. A short 10-min drive from almost all Portland has to offer. I didn't see the hosts during the stay, but overall had a great experience and would recommend this listing to anyone.
Clean, comfortable, convenient! Just what I needed! Thanks Charity and Maylene!
